He was supposed to be working on his homework and to anyone around him, that is exactly what it looked like he was doing. He was sitting alone in a far off corner of the common room with his History of Magic book open, resting on his lap. However, if one were to look inside the book, they would see darkly colored panels that told the tale of a dark knight.
Inside those pages were a much better story, to him at least, than what he was supposed to be reading for the next day's class. He had already read through two issues without anyone noticing and was working on a third. Inside those pages he wasn't an awkward, clumsy wizard that still wasn't entirely sure he should be here. Inside those pages, he could hide and be the brave dark knight instead.

Leoben and his friends had been sitting in the corner of the common room for some time now. "Well..." Leoben started, looking to the faces across him, "I guess it' s my turn," he gave a half grin before plunging his hand into the jelly bean box and pulling out a strange looking brown one. "Well, this looks positively appetizing," Leoben retorted at the muck-like jelly bean before popping it in his mouth.
It took a few seconds for the flavor to set in. As soon as it did, his mouth began to tingle and his face contorted in disgust. His stomach did a little flip. "Bloody hell, of course I'd get the vomit flavored one!" Leoben wretched, shaking his head in a desperate attempt to get the taste out of his mouth. All of his friends started laughing, causing quite a ruckus in the common room. "You guys all suck, just wait till one of you get something awful and I'll be the one laughing my arse off," Leoben's face was still distorted from the jellybean's taste, sucking all the moisture from his tongue in an attempt to get rid of that heinous vomit flavor.

Matty could hear the commotion all the way over in his corner. He looked over to the corner it had come from to see a group of boys gathered together around a box of candy of some kind. He tried to tune the group out and go back to his comic. He would finish this issue and then start on his homework.
He got distracted from the adventures of the caped crusader again when he heard one of the boys let out a loud exclamation that caused his ears to turn red. if he had said that, his mother would have been washing his mouth out with soap. He looked over in time to see one of the boy's contorted expressions and wondered what was going on.
He looked between the group and his book before giving a sigh. He took a large, deep breath and walked over to the other boys. "W-what are you guys doing?" he asked shyly.
