"I'm up, but not sure for how long. If you're close, can you pick up some food for us and Finnick? I'll pay you when you get back here."

Finnick mewed at his name and Vanessa stood to stretch. He body was stiff, but she felt very relaxed. While waiting for Penelope's reply, Vanessa remembered she needed to hide her drugs before her girlfriend returned. She opened the storage chest in the living room and pulled out a locked box of bullets. She dialed the combination lock and the box opened with a click.

Inside, there was about half-dozen cigarettes, a few bullets and one empty inhaler. She shoved in the other inhalers, plus the empty one, and locked the box was replaced in the chest. Vanessa also took off her gear and stored it away. She wouldn't be going out again tonight so she felt safe putting her things away. She sat on the couch and finished fixing her broken gadgets. She replaced the tranquilizer dart and fixed the broken legs of one spy-der, and made the speed upgrades on all the rest.

"As far as Finnick, just grab the biggest bag of chow you can find, and perhaps a few cans of sardines or anchovies. You know how much he loves his fish. For me, I'm in the mood for pasta. Will you pick up a box, and a jar of sauce? And some milk?"

Vanessa finished cleaning up and went to put on a pot of water on the stove in hopes Penelope could buy spaghetti or something. It was a heavy comfort food that Vanessa had been craving for quite some time. Now that she had money once again, she could stock up her cupboard and refridgerator. She filled Finnick's water dish with crisp, cool water and he responded by trotting over and lapping happily.
