YOUNG GIRLName: Clarine Clarence Color: Orange-Red- #FF4500 Age: 13 Nationality: American Home/Financial Status: Middle class, pretty stable. Lives in the Daisy District. School: Teufel Town Elementary & Middle School
Personality: To sum Clarine up in one word, she is zealous. The energy with which she approaches every aspect of her life is truly a remarkable thing. She laughs, she smiles, she brims with a kind of joie de vivre not seen in other people. She can typically be found chatting loudly with her friends at school, or on the phone. Alternately, she can be found banging away at her computer keyboard, talking to all manner of people over the internet. Gregarious is probably another good word for her.
She's also something of a gossip. She loves to hear juicy tidbits about other people, and she likes to spread them, too. She can act as a kind of repository for information on people, in a way. This means that she can also be quite nosy. She loves keeping up with the Joneses and hearing all there is to hear about the people around her, so she will often butt in on discussions if something seems particularly interesting (she does occasionally get chewed out for eavesdropping, though).
Behind her gossipy surface lies steadfast loyalty. She knows a few secrets about some of the girls in her group and keeps them firmly sealed away. However, her curiosity makes her want to know more about them, and some people (understandably) don't quite trust her due to her gabbing. She finds herself wishing that more people would trust her.
At her worst, Clarine can be overbearing and melodramatic. She may stick her nose too deep into someone's business (often unintentionally), and her reactions to failure can be a tad drastic. Her reactions are, to put it mildly, loud. She bemoans her failure, pouts, and otherwise can be something of a poor sport (well, she won't be a bad sport to the other team, but she takes losses very hard on herself).
Unfortunately, her enthusiasm tends to outweigh her actual abilities, and she often winds up depressed when she can't keep up with her friends intellectually and in other aspects. Her grades are merely average, for she has a little difficulty concentrating in school and being motivated to do "boring" schoolwork. Physically, she is merely "okay," not particularly weak but not particularly strong either. She hates that she can't always keep up with her friends; and it conflicts with her desire to be "extraordinary."
Clarine's desire to be "extraordinary" is a bit difficult to pin down, perhaps because Clarine herself doesn't have it particularly well defined. All she knows is that she wants to be someone above average. Perhaps she can lead people if she can't do anything else. As she sees it, leaders and those who can attract people are "extraordinary." And to lead, a person needs trust, or so she thinks.
Appearance: Clarine has orange-red eyes and long, wavy hair that's of the same color. Her hair goes down to her upper back. Her build is actually somewhat short and stocky. She loves bright colors and is often seen in whatever brights she can get away with without hurting people's eyes. That's not to say she won't occasionally wear a dark color- dark blue and dark green are her favorite of the "darks," along with dark red.
History: Clarine's family moved to Teufel Town when she was 10 years old. Her initial reaction to moving away from her previous hometown may surprise those who are more familiar with her current plucky disposition. She was sulky and withdrawn, refusing to interact with the other kids very much. Her status as the new kid actually got her bullied, with kids taking advantage of the fact that she knew nothing about the area and sending her off on "errands" to dangerous places. She would occasionally try to open up, which is how she got sent on these errands in the first place by the older kids. That taught her to keep to herself pretty quickly.
However, one day, when some older kids were picking on her, something remarkable happened. Another older girl told them all to buzz off and even dragged one of them away by force. The girl introduced herself to the astonished Clarine as Bailey, and Clarine made her first friend in Teufel Town Elementary & Middle School. Soon, Bailey's friends became Clarine's friends too, and Clarine realized that she had new opportunities in this new place. Gradually, she opened up to become her current outgoing self, and her circle of friends (or at least friendly people) grew. The bullying stopped, and Clarine learned to love the people in her new home.
She loved these new people so much that she wanted to learn as much about them as she could. She has become something of a keeper of secrets and a repository of rumors as time has gone on. However, she wishes that more people would trust her with their secrets and troubles...
Family: Jay Clarence- 48- works as a manager of a department store (?)- Jay is very much like his daughter- gregarious, outgoing, and overall a friendly person. The similarities in personality make Clarine something of a "daddy's girl," and he may sometimes encourage her more overbearing ways when he should really tell her to rein it in a bit.
Leanne Clarence- 47- no occupation- Leanne is the more level-headed of the two parents. Clarine and Leanne have a decent mother-daughter relationship; however, it can get a bit rocky when Leanne tells Clarine to cool off when she doesn't want to. Nonetheless, she is supportive of Clarine and is glad she has so many friends at her new school. PUELLA MAGILanguage: Welsh
Desires: To be extraordinary, to be a leader, to learn as much as she can about the people around her, and to be trusted.
Emblem: Angle Sign- Directed movement and energy.
Weapon: Battleaxe
Type of Magic: Fire magic, and perhaps some buffing magic too (particularly strength or speed buffing magic).
Outfit: Give her lots of angles to match her symbol, maybe. I also kind of want a cape shaped like her symbol (that is, it's split in the middle and makes two triangles), if that's possible. Maybe also a skirt made out of triangles.

WITCH FORM:
Name: Hilaria
Type: Gossip Witch
Description: The Gossip Witch is always surrounded by a throng of minions, chattering in gibberish (Witch-ese?) and laughing with them.
Nature: Sociability
Appearance: Hilaria appears to be a giant ball of pieces of brightly-colored paper folded together. Occasionally, a scrap of paper will blow off, revealing a secret or rumor in Witch runes. The secrets/rumors may be something like "I saw Marie kissing Brian by the boys' bathroom" or "Mr. Stevenson is a drunk; that's why he has a substitute in so often."
Barrier/Maze: The opening area of Hilaria's barrier is a street with a crowd of Emilio minions walking down it. The minions all seem to be talking at once in a strange language, and they will shove or hit any intruders out of their way. As one proceeds up the street, through the crowd of people, the crowd grows thicker and more aggressive. If a trespasser is not careful, they may be pushed all the way back to the beginning by the crowd or trampled. The occasional set of Philia minions may also be seen in the crowd.
Once one gets far enough through the crowd, there is a building with one single, solitary door. Entering this door puts you in the Witch's chamber, which appears to be a classroom with the desks arranged in a circle. Hovering above the only desk in the middle of the circle is Hilaria herself; her minions are either wandering around the room or seated at the desks (as seated as paper figures and balls of paper can be, anyway).
Location: Hilaria is in Teufel Town Elementary & Middle School. Her influence induces the students (and any others) to spread malicious gossip and slander. Those affected by her may also insult others mercilessly, resulting in the breaking up of friendships. She may also cause certain kinds of rumors to come true.
Attack(s): Hilaria attacks by shooting off razor-sharp pieces of paper at intruders. She can shoot off one at a time or surround someone with a flurry of blades.
Grief Seed: Many overlapping speech bubbles appear in Hilaria's Grief Seed.
MINION #1 FORM: Name: Emilio Duty: Crowding Description: Emilios walk down the street in the opening section of the maze, chattering to each other in a strange language. They become more numerous and more aggressive as one proceeds. Appearance: Emilios look like shadowy human shapes cut out of black construction paper. They walk in a stop-motion sort of fashion. Attack(s): Emilios don't have much in the way of attack, but they tend to shove people around if they get in their way. If someone falls down where the crowd is particularly thick, they may be trampled.
MINION #2 FORM: Name: Philia Duty: Retrieval Description: A Philia (or group of Philias) may occasionally grab an intruder by the hand (or crowd around them, giving them nowhere else to move) and drag them through the crowd of Emilios to the Witch's lair, with the intent of including the intruder in the Witch's "gossip circle." Appearance: Philias look like girls made of pasted-together bits of pink paper. Sometimes, the pieces of paper may have fragments of words or whole secrets written out on them in Witch runes. Attack(s): Philias don't really have attacks. They simply grab someone with a very strong grip or crowd around them and force them into the Witch's lair (assuming they don't lose their "guest" in the crowd of Emilios somewhere along the way).
MINION #3 FORM: Name: Flavia Duty: Spreading messages Description: Flavias look like smaller versions of Hilaria. They exchange pieces of the paper that makes them with Hilaria; this is their way of exchanging gossip. Occasionally, like with Hilaria herself, a piece of paper with a secret or a rumor will blow off. They are typically found in the classroom area of the Witch's barrier. Appearance: As said above, Flavias look like smaller versions of Hilaria with less varieties of color in the paper that makes them up. Attack(s): Like Hilaria, they attack with razor-sharp blades that appear to be made out of paper. They can shoot off one at a time or surround someone with a flurry of the blades.
