Look, like most of the fantasy genre, it borrows heavily on our own Middle Ages. ANd there were homosexuals then too, so it shouldn't be THAT surprising.

I saw the Daja being gay coming when they would describe her, but had hoped that they wouldn't go there cuz it was cliche to me. Out of the 3 girls the one they pick to be gay is the one thats very muscular and etc. Its kinda like how everyone in one of my college classes saw a girl with really short hair who dressed in t-shirts and baggy jeans, and they automatically assumed she was gay. I would like to see another book about them. If I had to pick who Briar would end up with out of the 3 girls I would have to say Tris. Only because I can't see him being with a noble. If Sandry were to take over for her Uncle I couldn't see Briar being restricted to a nobles life. But thats just my opinion.

I really liked WotE. I think it's a really good opener to more books in the Emelan series. Is anyone else just dying to know about Tris' upcoming adventures at Lightsbridge? I think it's going to be hilarious (how in the name of Mila is she expecting to hide her power? I mean...it's not exactly subtle).

Amaryxia I really liked WotE. I think it's a really good opener to more books in the Emelan series. Is anyone else just dying to know about Tris' upcoming adventures at Lightsbridge? I think it's going to be hilarious (how in the name of Mila is she expecting to hide her power? I mean...it's not exactly subtle). Plus, if she's expecting to be treated like a mage instead of a headstrong novice, she'll have to let them know she's a mage, which will lead them to find out that she studied under three great mages of royal magnitude, which will lead them to discover that she's one of the most powerful mages ever born... etc. etc. And if those Lightsbridge mages are as snooty and stuck up as Rosethorn claims, there are probably going to be a few explosions. *sighs happily* Don't you love it when Tris gets mad?

I loved The Will of the Empress! It's my favorite Tamora Pierce book. My favorite part was when Sandry got kidnapped by Shan, and escaped after tying everyone up with their own clothes.

I loathed the beginning. The awkwardnesses between the characters were shown through awkward writing rather than details on emotions or cleverly written interactions.
Once everything started evening out, I began to truly love it, and it turned into the Pierce book I wanted it to. So all in all it was a good book.

i loved the story, but the beginning, as stated prior, sucked.... after all the time they'd spent away, coming back was the awkwardest scene i've ever read in a book
but after the first swallow, i was easily able to read the rest of it....
and daja and risu seem really adorable, especially since it makes sense for somebody like me, who's bi, so, yay!!
it was an interesting thing to read and keep re-reading my favorite parts over and over
can't wait to see what happened to briar, though. i don't understand the nightmares because i didn't quite grasp the concept around his nightmares just yet

Can't grasp the concept around his nightmares? It's called post traumatic stress disorder. Look it up.

I rather liked it. It was a fitting end to the two quartets, and Tamora Pierce was being way sneaky by hinting at advantures that we as readers missed (like who Luvo is, what happened to Briar and Rosethorne). I also liked how she could expand upon it, like with Tris in Lightsbridge.

I loved Will of the empress, It is my favorite book so far.
The dedication gave me warm fuzzies,
I think that Rizu and Daja make a cute couple.
And overall the book was amazing.

WotE is my favorite too. Half because I accidentilly read it first and half because it was a good conclusion to the other books. I want to hear about Lightsbridge too. Also, she hints that they will become great mages. How does that get decided, I wonder.
