O'thor had worked alongside some of the Trine Weyrlings during Threadfall and had made brief connections with a few of them. That Clutch had been heavily atypical, so O'thor found that Adamanth being a Silver was no longer so rare. That didn't really matter to him either way, but it was a new way of looking at things. It was amazing, actually, that all of the Trine atypicals had survived. O'thor hoped Mercy wouldn't have to slow Weyrling lessons down too greatly because of the smaller and more delicate dragons.

He and Adamanth were coasting down to the lakeside, preparing to give the now-gigantic Silver a thorough washing followed by some oil, when he saw that he was not the only rider with the same idea. There was already a dark Crimson on the shore. The lighter markings, bold and unique, stood out against her otherwise brighter, darker hide. Despite that, O'thor couldn't remember her being one he recognized.

She is one of Trine's. I do not believe many Malvren Crimsons made it to Trine. With that, Adamanth opened his mindspeech to the Crimson below as he smoothly sailed in, backwinging some distance away so as not to scatter sand across the Crimson and her rider. Greetings. I am Adamanth. You are one of Trine's Crimson Weyrlings, are you not?

O'thor dropped from Adamanth's back and began the work of stripping the few riding straps he'd actually used on this brief jaunt off of his dragon. He would meet the rider soon enough, if Adamanth was already beginning a conversation. He glanced over as he worked to get an initial idea of who this Crimson's rider was, though his observational skills (as Adamanth often pointed out) weren't as good as his Silver's.

Tessth was calmly letting Selene and the flit Smara clean her as she stood in the waters. She looked over as the silver addressed her. Yes, I am Tessth of Trine, from which Weyr did you come from? She spoke in a calm and respectful tone as she lifted her wing to let the green flit do it's job.
Selene had her back to the Silver and it's rider turning when she noticed Tessth's attention turn away. She smiled slightly as she noticed the dragon and it's rider. "Hello, did you enjoy your flight?"

"Uh, yes." O'thor smiled at the girl as he set his riding straps and his jacket aside in the sand. "It was fine, thank you. I'm O'thor of Silver Adamanth. We're from Malvren. And you are?"

We come from Malvren. Adamanth, straps now removed, made his way into the lake, sloshing through the shallows. He left plenty of room between himself and Tessth, but stayed close enough that his rider could converse with Tessth's without difficulty. Your markings are very bold. I had heard that many of the dragons from the last Clutch at Trine were atypicals, as we are. Do others of your Clutch look similarly?

O'thor kicked off his shoes, rolled up his pantlegs, and then gathered the sweetsand he needed to start scrubbing Adamanth. It seemed that the Crimson's rider was already well into her own task, and she had a firelizard to help out. O'thor waded into the water as she introduced herself.

Selene smiled at the male, "Well it's nice to meet you, O'thor. I am from Trine. My name is Selene and this is Tessth."
Well, each of my siblings have different markings. Though I suppose that all of us are rather bold."

Adamanth hummed in consideration and surveyed Tessth further. You must have hit your growth period. You are already almost the same size as a Brown of the same age. You will grow more quickly now. The days of being the smallest, as I was, are done. Have you and your rider decided what path you will choose yet?

"A pleasure to meet you," O'thor replied, giving her another smiled before he began scrubbing the nearest foreleg. "We haven't had the chance to meet many of the new Weyrlings yet, though I saw some of your fellows during Threadfall when we were packing the firestone bags." He let a pause fall for a short time, and then added, "We didn't have any Crimsons in my Clutch. Two Silvers, though. I heard you had two Crimsons in yours, though. Your Tessth and another."

I am growing pretty rapidly these days, I am grateful that Mine takes excellent care of me. We haven't decieded out path yet, though knowing my rider, I think we will fight with the rest when we are ready. How are you and Yours fairing in Trine?

Selene smiled, "Oh yes, the other Crimson is called Loveth. All of the clutch turned out wonderfully I think. The crimons are the easiest to tell apart from each other I think. Loveth is a lot light in her shade of red."

Well, there wasn't much O'thor could say to that. He nodded and focused on scrubbing down Adamanth, aware that his Silver was at least holding a conversation with the Crimson. He wasn't sure why it seemed to be difficult to find common ground that led them to an extended conversation; maybe he was just used to the boisterous riders of Malvren taking care of half of the trouble for him.

Soon the Weyr will ask which path you have chosen. I hope you are certain by then. Fighting is an admirable path. Any extra dragon in the sky is a welcome one. We will need all of us when Thread falls again. Adamanth looked down as O'thor hit his leg and lifted it so that his rider could wash the submerged portions as well. O'thor and I are fine. It is very different from our home at Malvren, but we are making do with what we are given. It is not hard to meet others when we are all in such close quarters, but building alliances seems to be more difficult. We also have our choice of which Wing we will join before us, and O'thor is finding it a difficult task to choose with whom we will fly.
