Every man ought to be inquisitive through every hour of his great adventure down to the day when he shall no longer cast a shadow in the sun. For if he dies without a question in his heart, what excuse is there for his continuance? -Frank Moore Colby

 ***James Green***
Looking around James wondered where he was, and perhaps more importantly how he had gotten there. As he looked around he could find nothing familiar about the strange place he had stumbled upon. He took a few steps forward, inspecting the landscape and the stream that flowed from where he had emerged. How he had ended up there was quite the mystery, and as he began to concentrate he realized that he really didn't know where he was supposed to be. He remembered nothing of his past, or very much about the world in general. He walked to the waters edge, gazing into a stagnant puddle of water that had formed beside the stream.
He stood for a while inspecting his own reflection. his own face was quite unfamiliar to him, just as everything else around him was. He felt the stubbly hairs that were creeping from his jaw, wondering if he normally had such hairs or if they had grown out recently. His hair seemed well attended, so he doubted that he had been out of it long enough to have grown the stubble, but still every one of his features was a curiosity to him. He examined his clothes, a grey suit jacket with a white undershirt and matching slacks. It seemed a bit unusual to him to be wearing such clothes, but he was not sure why. He knew the clothes were supposed to be formal, so he imagined he was likely doing something important before he came here.
As he looked up from the puddle he saw the girl in the distance. He stared at her for a while, noting her appearance and significance. He considered calling out to her, but then wondered what the danger of it could be. It was completely possible he was not supposed to be there at all. Given his attire he guessed he had not intended on coming to this place, and since he had no memories he also assumed something bad had likely happened. He instead looked around where he currently had emerged. "Hello?" He asked, looking around, hoping that perhaps he was not alone in his being dropped off here.

~~Kadrien "The Cold" McKinely~~ Kadrien stumbled around blindly till he could regain his sense of direction. He had no recollection of how he got here, inside this unnamed place only that he knew he was there and that his name was Kadrien "The Cold" McKinely. He wondered what "The Cold" in his name stood for. He came across a lake and bent down to scoop some water into his mouth. He splashed some water across his face hoping that it would clear the cobwebs from his mind. He usually didn't have this much trouble recollecting anything. Kadrien flexed his muscles as he stood and found that there wasn't any physical damage to him. He pushed those thoughts away and thought maybe it will come back to me in time. He looked around him and found two other people, a male and a female. He started to make his way to the guy and found a multitude of landmarks including a huge castle-like home across the lake. It looked slightly out of place inside this strange place. The guy looked extremely well-groomed and the woman was clean as well. He looked down at himself and despite a few stains from walking around in the forest he found himself with dreads which oddly reassured him for some unknown reason. He had on wrist guards and a long sleeve t-shirt as well as long pants and comfortable boots. He considered calling out to the well-groomed guy but didn't know if he was a serial killer hiding in plain sight. So he decided not too. He would just wait until he was close enough to speak to him.

╔════════════════════╗ Min Ji & Haneul 송민지 ᆞ 송하늘 The ❤ Twins ╚════════════════════╝ Haneul shivered and opened her eyes. It was dark around her. Dark and wet and cold and salty. There was only one light source and it seemed to be the opening of a cave. She tried to get up, but something weighed her down. It was then when she noticed a body on her back. The body was still warm, so the person or thing had to be alive. Haneul dared to turn around slowly. The movement woke the creature. It moaned and grabbed onto Haneul's waist.
"Really?" she exclamed, agitated. The weight on top of her was inflicted by a girl of her size and age. Who does this girl think she is, laying on top of me?
"Yah!" the girl yelped as Haneul stood up abruptly. "You're so rude, Hanna!" "Hanna? My name is Haneul. Who are you?" The girl gasped in response and then stood up, dusting off her sandy jeans and beige wool top. "I'm your sister, Min Ji... Babuya!" Min Ji pouted and crossed her arms. A wave of realization flooded her mind as she apologized with a smile. "I must have hit my head really hard then." "That's okay," Min Ji said, looking down sadly, "I can't remember much either. Where are we?" "Who are we?"
They stared at each other for a while. Min Ji took her sister's hand and lead her out of the cave. Hanna didn't resist. They were sisters after all, weren't they? If there was anyone she could trust, it would be Min Ji. That is how family worked, right? Everything was foggy. If it wasn't for her sister, Hanna would feel so alone and lost in this strange place.
After a few minutes of awkward silence between the two, Hanna pointed to the horizon. "Look, there are people there!" "Race you!" Min Ji chirped and darted off in the direction Hanna indicated. She rushed on after her, unsure if this was Min Ji's true character or if she was paired with a stranger as some sort of trick. The wind nipped at her bare legs, but the movement kept her warm from the inside.
They reached two men and a young girl, panting and their lungs burning from the fresh air. One of the men was dressed in formal attire, the other wore casual clothes. Judging by their appearances, they all had their own character. The sisters, however, looked like a pair and somewhat as if they have just dressed for a drama or a photo shoot. Hanna couldn't imagine how light, loose clothing could be practical in any way, but shrugged away her insecurities and greeted the group with a smile.

***James Green*** James looked in alarm as he saw two people come charging at him from the distance. He had been hesitant about possibly apraoching the rather dangerous looking man that was nearby, but that thought escaped him now and he ducked behind a bush, convinced whoever was running at them was sent to do him harm. He knew he wasn't supposed to be wherever he was, and now the sudden emergence of charging people had him frightened. He picked up a rock, hiding it in his hand in case he needed to defend himself.
As the two got close and stopped to introduce themselves he realised that they were not in fact intnet on hurting him, or any of the people there. At least they weren't at the moment. He straightened up, adjusting his glasses and acting like he had just dropped something insead of having been taking cover from the two rather harmless looking girls. He tucked the rock into one of his inside jacket pockets, deciding to keep it around. He felt for a second to see if he had anything else in the pockets that might help him identify himself, but found nothing. He sighed in slight disapointment, but then directed his attention at the newcomers. He knew he couldn't just stand around hiding from everybody if he hoped to find his way out of where ever he was.
"Hello." He said, smiling and waving at the two. He aproached slowly, offering out a hand to shake. That seemed like the right thing to do for some reason, like a natural reflex for him. "My name is James, James Green. Its a pleasure to meet you." He would introduce himself to the man, but he still seeemed hesitant to aproach. "Would either of you lovely ladies happen to know where we are?" He asked, taking particular note of his own choice of language. He had some sort of accent, though he himself could not distiguish what it was. He wondered if it was even a real accent or simply some thrown in inflection that he used to sound more interesting. Despite his lack of understanding he spoke so naturally though, which he was pretty sure meant he had spoken that way for a very long time.

╔════════════════════╗ Min Ji & Haneul 송민지 ᆞ 송하늘 The ❤ Twins ╚════════════════════╝ "Unfortunately we have no idea," Hanna surprised herself by speaking English fluently as if she's done so for years. She looked at Min Ji for a clue, but her sister looked equally surprised. She took advantage of the skill and introduced themselves, "I'm Hanna and this is Minzy." "We're sisters," Min Ji added in a strong Korean accent that seemed to irritate her. It seemed odd that Haneul could speak English perfectly and her sister could not, but in the given situation, she didn't need any more causes of distrust between them. "Why is everyone so wide-spread?" Min Ji asked in a small voice, glancing at the other people. "Shouldn't we all stick together to make sense of things?" She then added. For someone who didn't have an English accent, Min Ji knew how to get the message across effectively without much error. Perhaps she never grasped the accent, Haneul thought. Perhaps I went overseas for a while and she didn't. Wherever are we now? Ireland? The lush landscape reminded her of that for some reason that she could not remember.

~Kadrien "The Cold" McKinely~ Kadrien walked up to the group of people. He couldn't figure out how the two girls had come out of practically nowhere and still beat him there. He strode up to the group but stood a little ways back. He heard them pass around introductions and knew that they weren't from this place but then again neither was he. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was someone else watching them. He cleared his throat and three head swung towards him. "My name is Kadrien "The Cold" McKinely. And i think Minzy is it?, is right. Our best chance for survival is to stick together. Our best bet is to make it to that castle across the lake." Kadrien shifted his stance. He didn't like his absence of memory but that must be a side affect of this place. He wondered if it would be like that once the left this place. He turned around and looked at the castle and the position of the sun. If they left now they'd be stumbling around in the dark. He shook his head wondering how he could possibly know that.

Mia the Nomad
Mia placed the last vase of water on the pebbled shore in ceremonial offering to the river guardian. The water rippled its thanks and, satisfied, Mia quietly stalked toward the group clustered on the shore, careful to make no noise and draw no attention.
"...survival is to stick together. Our best bet is to make it to that castle across the lake." Mia smiled. "What an idea, Kadrien. And that is exactly what you are meant to do." Mia was pleased to see them all jump. "I am sent here as your guide. An impartial observer, if you will. You have been brought here for a great honor. We will begin by taking this boat across." At her words, a long wooden boat sailed around the bend and softly bumped onto the sandbar. "Careful not to touch the water," Mia warned, "He will be quite angry if you wake him." The group of people simply continued to stare at her. "In," she said, pointing.

***James Green*** James adjusted his glasses as he listened to the two girls introduce themselves. They seemed quite similar in appearance and mannerism, and when they announced they were sisters it became evident to him why. The fact that both of this sister pair had been brought here was significant to him, as it indicated some manner of pattern to whatever manner of event had brought them there. He liked patterns much more then randomness, he found the fact that two people here happened to have a knowledge of anything outside of where they were right now was a huge relief, even if it was a minute fact about someone else that happened to be there. He felt that since they both had someone to corroborate their story that he could trust them more then others he met. Even if they claimed to have no memories like him, someone had to have put them there for a reason, and would eventually come to contact them. It wouldn't surprise him if they his among the group claiming as well to have no memories.
He nodded in agreement as Min Ji said they should stick together. If someone or something was in fact out to get them he knew it would be best to be in a group. The girls he at least believed he could outrun if anything came after them. He winced for a moment, wondering why he had contemplated abandoning these two people he had met just met in the face of danger. He knew a good man would protect the two girls and sacrifice himself if necessary for their safety. None the less the feeling of using them as cannon fodder for his escape remained in place. As he thought about it he wondered if he was a bad person. He shook his head, leaving his self debating until later and turned his attention to the rather dangerous looking man who had come over. He had avoided the man before, but it couldn't be too bad to engage him now that he had a group. He felt safer in a group.
He listened as Kadrien talked about his idea of crossing over the lake to the castle. The man seemed more then capable of taking care of himself, and just by 'the cold' being in his name he guessed that he was someone that wouldn't have too much trouble surviving here. By his assertion that they should cross the lake he detected a sense of leadership from the man, which seemed best since he had no clue of how to survive in this environment. He knew he would need shelter and food, and so far the castle was indeed the only obvious option to find both. He was also guessing whoever had brought them here planned on that though. It could easily be a trap. He would have to watch this Kadrien.
As the woman from across the lake appeared James stumbled back, almost falling over. He managed to regain his composure quickly though. He listened to her talk about why they were there and narrowed his eyes, the puzzle in his mind taking in a variety on new pieces. This woman knew who they were, why they were there, and likely who had brought them. She was the face, and the first words she had said put him on edge. "Survival..." He said, pushing his glasses up on his face. "You don’t offer many answers for a guide." He silently wondered if it would be best to hold the girl here and force the answers she had out of her. He had little doubt that their destination was not safe, and the fact she had led of her speech so foreboding meant she had some idea of what waited ahead. He also knew that staying where they were was dangerous as well, as whatever waited across the lake could easily just come out to them, and in the wilderness they would have to separate at different times to survive, making them easy pickings. What he knew for sure was that the only place he would find the answers he needed to get out of wherever he was was across that lake. He felt the urge to grab the woman by the throat and force her to tell him what was going on, but stayed his own hand. "Could you at least tell us your name, and perhaps where we are?" He asked, opting for a more friendly approach. He looked over his shoulder to see how the others would respond, namely Kadrien. The girls he knew he could control through force if he had to, but Kadrien could cause him harm if he chose to. He once again wondered what kind of person he was, now wanting to force these woman to do as he willed by force. He knew a good man would not do or think such things, but the urge was still there. He licked his lips, trying to keep his internal strife from appearing on his face.

Mia the Nomad
"I'm glad you took the friendly approach, Mr. Green. I do not respond well to violence." She met his eyes and stared him down until he looked away. "I am Mia, occasionally called Nomad. It is not my job to give you answers, but to observe and instruct you on a need-to-know basis. We could stand here debating this issue, or I could make you get in this boat. I don't want to be around when Lucaidan takes to the sky."
She sensed more hesitation. Impatiently, she raised her hand and made a flicking motion with her wrist, sending Min Ji flying into the boat. Mia gripped the post and poised to push off from shore. "Your last chance to accompany me before I take the female, Min Ji, and leave you to deal with Lucaidan's foul temper. Mind you don't touch the water," Mia commanded Min Ji before the girl could slip from the boat and rejoin her sister. "I've told you. You don't want to wake him." Min Ji could detect the honesty in Mia's voice and sat back in the boat, silently pleading with her sister.

~Kadrien "The Cold" McKinely~ "You need to listen to her. She obviously can help us and while you two are standing around deciding, you're wasting daylight." Kadrien made his way towards the boat, being careful not to touch the water. He glanced once at Mia and then stared at the other two. He knew that the best chance for survival was to listen to Mia and couldn't understand why James and the other girl where being stubborn. He looked towards the sinking sun and for a moment felt a slight chill. "Guys we don't have much time. Either come with us or stay here." Kadrien kept his attention on the castle. He couldn't understand why he was so bossy or why he felt threatened. He reached a hand up and scratched the back of his head. Must be something to do with the amnesia we all mysteriously have. I'm going to find out...I have to.

Mia the Nomad
Impatient, Mia withdrew a silver instrument on a long, delicate chain from within her cloak. She began swinging it; it made a loud, frighteningly beautiful sound. Suddenly, a shriek sounded from above and a great red dragon broke through the clouds toward the two other humans on the shore. It swooped at the tall man.
[OOC - Abool, you need to roll a d20 and roll higher than me to live. If your roll is lower than mine, you die. If you tie, you sustain great injury.]

***James Green*** James watched as kadrien made his way to the boat and hesitated, wondering whether taking the boat would in fact be wise. The woman has somehow launched the girl mia by some force of nature that seemed supernatural and frightening to him. He didn't remember if such things were supposed to exist or not, but something told him that such power was not natural. He was afraid, though his face did not show any hint of it.
His cool expression quickly vanished though as an enrmous monstrosity came rocketing down from the sky. His eyes widened in profane terror as he saw the red monster descending at him, and for a moment his legs were locked, paralyzed in place. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, he knew that he was going to die. Almost as soon as the creature was about to slam into him though he felt a sudden sense or urgency overtake him and he moved instictually, diving for the boat. As he slammed into the wood he felt splinters shoot into his arms as he slid and went head over heels, almost smashing into Kadrien as he finally came to a stop. He breathed heavilly and blinked a few times, trying to realize just what had happened. He had been about to die, but the same feeling that had made him want to hurt the girl had made him jumped, had known he needed to live. If not for it, he knew he would have died.
As he came to his senses he slammed his fist into the wood and stood, turning back to face Mia. He wanted to yell at her, to leave the boat and fight back after what she had just tried to do. He gritted his teeth though, he knew that nothing good would come from challenging the woman. With a grimace he sat down and straightened his backet, wiping dirt and wodd splinters off of himself. The sleeves of the jacket were thoroughly ruined, but at this point that did not matter to him. "It seems we have little choice." He muttered, half to himself and half to the other in the boat with him. He had decided that if he was to survive with this woman taking such actions he would have to rely off of his more aggresive side. He had tried being a kind person, and Mia had tried to kill him. It was the other him that had saved him.
