Informative Blurb: Nixei is, foremost, very small; standing straight, at the top of his "hair," he is only a breadth over four feet tall. For his size, he is very leggy and agile, but the sexual dimorphism of his octopodian side has manifested in a very short, small body. Also obvious is the "hair" he's been blessed with - several (five, if you like to count) fully functional tentacles sprout from the top of his head in place of hair - which he seems to be missing entirely. It would appear as though his keratin development is a bit stifled, as his nails are also very thin and somewhat loosely attached.
Nixei's fungal side has manifested in a somewhat unexpected way. Firstly are the exposed gills along the sides of his face and neck; these are fully functional fungus gills - they secrete spores at times and tend to leave unfortunate puff marks. In addition, when he enters an excited state, the suckers on his tentacles excrete a mixture of psilocybin and psilocin; while he is immune to the effects of the drugs, obviously, others are not and caution should be exercised around the tentacles should Nixei grow too excitable or irate.
Flaws:
===== Wait, what?:
- Nixei comes off as rather airheaded at times, though this isn't entirely the truth. He has a tendency to get wrapped up in his own thoughts and forget the outside world. Unfortunately, to those outside of him that means that he seems to be a flake, or he just doesn't pay attention. He often misses small details and facets of information due to thinking about something that has his interest for the day, leading to later confusion and miscommunication.
===== Space Cadet calling Headquarters:
- Nixei has ... strange thoughts. Maybe a side effect of being constantly exposed to a hallucinogen (even though he doesn't react to it directly), or maybe just an odd personality - whatever it is, it isn't uncommon for it to seem like his mind is somewhere else entirely, or that it's possibly just alien. He has a tendency to bring up unusual topics in conversation, often (seemingly) completely unrelated to the topic at hand. He also draws odd connections between topics, and he rarely hesitates before vocalizing or asking about them - and worse, sometimes lends himself to being upset or slightly offended if rebuked or if it is pointed out to him that it makes no sense whatsoever... because rabbits are totally like test tubes, jeez.
===== I am NOT ANGRY OKAY:
- Nixei has mood swings from time to time. Severe ones. He's also very bad at admitting it, preferring to insist that he's fine and his mood hasn't changed at all. This tends to be a problem as further probing generally tilts his mood into anger, leaving him to lash out with how very damn fine he actually is. This anger tends to swing quickly into another mood, however, leaving people confused and Nixei appearing rather manic.
===== What's "mine?":
- Nixei has very little understanding of the concept of ownership. While he does know what it means, he just doesn't "get" it. It's hard for him to grasp that someone might want something completely to themselves and no one to take it or use it. To him, everything in the Labs belongs to everyone; doing more work and earning tokens just means you get something first! He has no intent to "steal," but he will walk off with items he's messing with if he's still using it in some capacity when he leaves an area; likewise, he will not hesitate to reach across a table and take a piece of food from someone else, as long as they're not eating it at the moment.

- What is personal space? Not something that Nixei understands, that's what it is. Nixei loves being close to people. He loves to touch people and things as well, particularly with his tentacles. He's very tactile and constantly wants to know what things feel like, even if those things happen to be friends' faces. He gets a bit hurt if someone pushes him away, too, as he doesn't get why someone would mind being touched. He does at least understand the concept of "inappropriate touching," but outside of that everything is fair game.

===== It all makes sense now!:
- For all his unusual behaviours and weird thoughts and actions, Nixei's wandering mind does provide him with an advantage at times. Seeing connections between seemingly unrelated things allows him to come up with very creative solutions to problems at times, and it also allows him to make sense of issues in unusual ways. Nevermind some of these solutions might be considered rather unorthodox at times; if duct tape and pipe cleaners somehow makes DNA extraction easier - don't worry about the duct tape and pipe cleaners!
===== Mr. Fixit? How about Mr. Improvit?:
- Nixei's touchy, feely, grabby... and handy. He loves fiddling with things, taking them apart and figuring out what makes things tick (or tock, or beep, or boop, or . . .). What he enjoys more than that, though, is putting things back together the right way - even if the "right" way is different than when he first found it. While he's good at repairing broken things, he's also good at improving them. He loves fiddling with and replacing parts to make mechanical objects more efficient and making adjustments to settings and such to generally better the work efficacy of said things. One thing that can be slightly irritating to him when trying to work on larger objects is his size, though - he's very small, so sometimes it can be difficult to reach into places without actually having to crawl inside the whole thing!

- Nixei likes everyone. Absolutely everyone. Everyone has good points about them, and he's determined that he will be everyone's friend, no matter what it takes. His personality is flexible and very open; he rarely has any sort of prejudices against people for their personal tastes, and his interests are wide enough that he's usually capable of finding something in common with others (as long as he can focus long enough to hold a conversation). He craves companionship and seeks it out from any and all persons he can, tekimi or lab personnel alike.
===== What do you mean "you're not doing anything?":
- Nixei is active; he always has to be doing something. While he does enjoy physical activities, as long as he's occupied in some way he's happy. While his brain might not be all there, he needs to be involved in something. It's not uncommon to find him doing seemingly unrelated things at the same time, like reading a book and exercising. In fact, involving him in an activity is probably the best way to get him to focus and pay attention - he might need to do two or three things at once, but at least he's with you!
===== Epicurean delights:
- Nixei loves food. He loves tasting and smelling and experiencing it; along with his handy nature, this lends naturally to loving learning how food works - and concurrently, how to make it! He also enjoys sharing this food with other members of the Labs; when he's allowed into the kitchen it's not uncommon for him to return with a feast for everyone. He finds great pleasure in trying new foods too, so he's always first in line to eat new plants and animals that have been dubbed edible, giving him a fairly extensive working knowledge of what is "safe" to eat in the wilderness.
General Attitude:
- Nixei is a bit of an contradiction; while he can certainly be described as friendly, he can't always be described as bubbly or happy. He's a whirlwind of emotion and action, even when he's standing still. Life is a grand adventure and he needs to experience all of it - every sidequest and pointless NPC must be found and not only interacted with but also understood completely. To the unknowing observer, he might even come off as aloof or "out of it" at times, but that's only because his mind is busy working on problems and concepts in some far off place or topic. If he's a flake, it's only because he's always everywhere, thinking about and working on something that has his interest more than whatever is at hand. One shouldn't take it personally though - it doesn't mean he thinks you're boring, it just means his extensive thought queue has filled up! Just give him a little time to catch up with himself. He's really quite open and quick to socialize when he can be pulled out of his own world.
Interests: Everything. Books, technical manuals, instructional guides, puzzles, riddles, text and adventure games, obstacle courses, swimming, food, cooking, dancing, exercising, attending learning activities, being everyone's friend, exploring!
Likes: Shellfish, active music, springs and gears, wires, exploring!, touching you being with friends, eating, doing things, creepy games, creepy stories, being caught off guard, being startled, climbing on furniture, fweets.
Dislikes: Doing nothing, Hawk yelling at him, philosophies emphasizing inner calm, doing nothing, bland foods, not being allowed in the kitchen, being told to focus on only one activity, doing nothing, being too small to reach things, being yelled at for forgetting clothes and shoes, not being allowed to touch things, doing nothing.
