Frederike Tate is a relatively young tavern keeper whose lodge is located deep
within the populous city of Palisade. There, Frederike was able to meet and
greet various colorful figures in the area, but her most notable business went to a
trader’s guild, The Palisade Tradesmen, whose headquarters are located just
within her reach. Frederike is a nurturing and kind girl who took great care of
these traders, but a long-growing rivalry between them and another trader’s guild
resulted in the arson of her tavern: as a result, she lost everything. Afterwards,
Frederike found herself traveling away from Palisade to the heart of Wardwood,
even though it was months away from the city, where she found a curious totem
that would later grow to into Phobos, a tricksy and clever deer who would call
Frederike her’s.
After spending some time wandering the countryside with Phobos, Frederike
returns to rebuild her tavern anew, and finds herself being greeted again by the
remaining members of The Palisade Tradesmen. Though somewhat reluctant at
first, Frederike now finds herself building the tavern ground-up with them, and is
adapting quickly to her position as leader. As proof of her dedication to Phobos,
her closest friend and guardian, she has renamed her tavern The Black Hart.
In the Dreaming, Phobos has a deer brother named Deimos with whom
she is close. There, she is also a prophet for the Children of Vesperos, and
guides the starborn in a wild but nurturing way.
