【.background information.】
Samuel Litger Itena was adventurous as a kid, and often hung around Fang and his friends, though usually as a simple tag along. He took a liking to Blake, despite, or perhaps because of his demeanor. When the kids began to vanish, Sammy found himself worried, looking all over town for Chris, and morning Fang who had seemed to had died. Sammy found himself only left with Blake when his own parents vanished themselves. Despite the unhealthy relationship between the kid who hung onto the inventor who ignored him usually, it was enough for Sammy for the time. Eventually, Blake left Howling to pursue his work with SNITF, leaving Samuel all alone in Howling.
The kid later on became extremely troubled, all alone, and for a good part, broken. He lashed out at the world around him, first learning exorcism as a way to vent his anger, and eventually turning to people when it became not enough. Avoided by everyone, eventually he found himself all alone in the Forest outside Howling, wandering into a clearing where the Spirit Fountain was kept. The area entranced him, calming his soul until he fell into the depths of the water, and discovered the spirit world. Ever since, he's become increasingly cheery, and has taken up the job of the makeshift "librarian" of the Endless Library.
Since his reemergence with society, he's seen as a much happier kid, who reconciled with the people he wronged. With the world around him becoming increasingly miserable, a select few see him as a glimmer of hope in the town, while others see him for his past, and fear his cheery self. More than not, he's seen cheerfully swaying along the streets of howling during the evenings, if he's seen at all.
Since the beginning of this arc, he's been seen walking around with Zuni YX3, both in and out of the spirit world. Meeting Blake early on, he's had some rather unremarkable and confusing experiences with his old friend.
