Bearing that, the few Islandians that had proven themselves to be interested in the good and future of the lab were allowed to follow the scientist and help explore the brave, new world.
Since they are an irreplaceable part of the lab, thank Kei's trust issues and somewhat scarce number of replacements, they have been barred from participating in any event that requires leaving the lab."
A few more facts about lab assistants:
All assistants are Islandians and likely grew up in the Labs' educational facilities.
They have been around a laboratory / university type setting their entire lives.
They will not be officially drawn (unless Vari really happens to take to a character and thus it gets "fan art").
They will never have certs.
These are not redshirts and won't be part of meta/events/etc. (*certain, special, specific events excluded*)
They are background characters.
They may of course roleplay.
They will not die.
They may own fweets/other pets.

You will "quest" for your lab assistant here.
1. Your lab assistant will need to be accepted by both Variable Nonsense and me.
You will need to have a character that is more than copypasta.
The more depth the better. Even though this a background character, you will be roleplaying them as any person would with a tekimi.
2. Your thread will be moved to the Lab Assistants subforum after being approved.
For use as you would any other journal.

In order to apply for a lab assistant, you will need to provide the following information.Name
Every lab assistant needs a name.
First and last, or just first if they have no "family" name. Division
Where they work.
Divisions of the lab are: Biology, Geology, Repairs, General Upkeep, Stasis Upkeep Appearances
Looks are important. Be as detailed as possible.
Pictures are not allowed as stand-in, but you may link to them if you draw your character. Age
How old is your lab assistant? Family
Does your lab assistant have any family to speak of?
This does not have to "blood relative". Flaws
Name three to five bad things about your character.
Include a detailed description of how each of those flaws affects their lives. Virtues
Name three to five good things about your character.
Include a detailed description of how those flaws enhance their lives. General Attitude
How do they like living at the Labs?
How do they react to tekimi? Interests
What sort of interests do they have outside their job? Likes
What are their general likes? This could be anything. Dislikes
What are their general dislikes? This could be anything.

A few rules about your application/character sheet.
Do not add banners.
Do not add extra posts.
Do not remove sections you don't use. Instead, label them "N/A".
Use this title for your application while you are working: "[LA][Your Name] - [Assistant's Name][UC]"
When you are ready for your application to be reviewed, remove the "[UC]" at the end and quote either Variable Nonsense or me in the main thread.
When an application has been accepted, the title will be finalised as: "[Your Name] - [Assistant's Name]" and moved to the Lab Assistants subforum.
