The Rider

Name: F'ronell (Feronell before impression)
Age: 16
Gender: male
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Craft/Hall/Rank: Weyrling

Appearance: Feronell is darkly tanned, his body lithe and muscular. He's fairly short, and stands only about 5'4. He has long, reaching the mid-back, black hair, that he typically wears pulled back in a runner's tail. His hazel eyes usually stay a brownish gold color.

As for clothing, he likes things that are brightly colored, the brighter the better. He always matches, and everything he wears are in good condition.

Personality: Feronell is forever an optimist, but not in the typical sense of the word. Rather than looking on the bright side of everything, he tends to simply ignore any possible negative consequences. While this really isn't the best way to deal with issues, he finds that it allows him to appreciate the little things in life, allowing Feronell to approach each day with an enthusiasm that is both forthright and genuine.

He isn't exactly the most outgoing person. He can be personable, when he needs to be, and he gets along with people rather well, when he has to, but for the most part he prefers to keep to himself. It's not that he doesn't like people, it's just, well, it seems to be just too much of a hassle to learn how to get comfortable around new people all the time. Especially with just how many people that tends to be. He has a few close friends, and he feels like that's all he needs.

He has no tolerance for drama, stupidity, or a delicate female role; having been raised in a family with many strong women. However, he does pick his battles, and pick them very, very carefully. He is a big fan of the idea that his silence could just mean you are not worth the argument. Besides, silence tends to have very interesting effects on people, they could give it up, or let their overactive imaginations go to town and become suddenly paranoid of the terrible things you’re going to do to them when they turn around.

He has a weakness towards gambling, and can often be found making wagers on just about everything that he can. "That clutch'll hatch 4 blues," or "Bet your lizard'll have 7 eggs, and one of em'll be bronze." He doesn't care about winning, just about the game, and he loses more often than not.

History: Feronell was the 3rd son of a fisherman and his wife. They spent most of their time on the sea, away from their home in Ista Hold, and he and his brothers were trained in the craft, with their parent's intentions to send them to be properly apprenticed Seacrafters when they were old enough.

This worked well for Feronell's two older brothers, who went off to the crafthall without any issue, but when it came time for him, things didn't work quite as planned. He was searched, and, when asked, agreed to go to the weyr. He, like many others, had always dreamed of being chosen by one of the dragons, to be their partner, and he went happily.

Talents: Fishing, Sailing, Knot-tying

The Dragon

User Image

Name: Eileith
Color: Brown
Size: Small
Impresse: Feronell
Personality: Eilith is stoic and purposeful. He gets things done, you could say, and wastes no time messing about either! He quickly tires of useless people, especially those fickle lust-filled creatures of fancy, who have nothing better to do with their time than gossip and fawn over some new fling. What a waste of time! He will never understand it! Yet while he seems to have a cold exterior, only F’ronell will know how joyful Eileith can be. He finds pleasure in the simplest thing, mostly coming from nature, and pursues them with unadulterated bliss.

Eileith prefers solitude with His to companionship with any other dragon, but occasionally, when beseeched honestly, he will act strongly on a request for help. Only then, and with much haughtiness, will he take up someone's case. But despite his attitude, there will always be those who ask, for this brown is a capable little thing. No one displays more effortless skill than Eileith when he puts his mind to something. He will have a few, dear companions, and to them he will be devoted, guarding and protecting them well. But even then, he is never unhappy to be alone, with no one but himself or F’ronell for company.

As for flights.. Well! This brown is quite opposed to those. The chase, on the other hand.. Oh, how he loves the chase! He has little interest in what comes after, but Eileith will often be the first to show up for a flight. He rarely wins, except accidentally. Usually, he stays in just long enough to prove to everyone how skilled he is, before taking himself out of the chase. There's none of that for him! He is pure to the thrill of the hunt.

While he is perfectly content to amuse himself on his own, Eileith has a particular fondness for his siblings, Helioth and Kosth especially. He is never far if one of his clutchmates needs him, and he would protect any of them without thought. Whenever a situation becomes dire, Eileith will be there to sort it out. However, he often teases his siblings, and he is very competitive, especially with his brothers. Eileith must always be the first, the fastest, the most skilled.. He can never resist a challenge, even though they have a tendency to get him into trouble. Yet, when it comes to a challenge, he is able to endure almost anything, focusing entirely on his goal. If Feronell is able to inspire his competitiveness, Eileith will soon become masterful at anything.

Eileith is small for a brown, and much more slender than is usual, a fact which he is very sensitive about. In fact, he is sensitive to ribbing of any kind, although he tries his best to hide it, acting serene, while seething with anger. When Eileith is upset, he tends to sulk on his own, swearing off all people and proclaiming that he will live forever in solitude. It will take a great deal of persuading from His, or sucking up on the part of his siblings, to convince him to come out of it.

Name Sake: from Eileithyia, the Cretan goddess of childbirth, the duties of which were attributed to Artemis.

Impression

Hunter studied the girls in front of him, one by one. Their minds swam with emotion; fear, anger, hope, shame. He could teach them -he could!- but that would not do. Eventually they would tire and give their hearts up to another. No, there was only one strong enough for him. And he knew who it was! Oh yes! Hunter had known from the start, but he’d wanted to wait. His would be a patient one, he knew, and would forgive him for taking time to sort out his siblings first.

But now it was time that they be together. With a sudden urgency in his elegant steps, Hunter made a dash across the sands, away from the girls and towards the male contingent of the candidates. Oh joy! He would have a companion! Someone he could share all his exploits and adventures with! He raced up and down the lines playfully, turning fluidly, lingering on one, only to turn away from him in the end and dodge and weave to another. Until finally, with a last dash, he cut in front of his brother to stand before Feronell.

Feronell had been paying so much attention to Journey, that he didn't even notice Hunter dashing across the sands. Well not until he was in front of him, cutting in front of the playful one.

There. Did he think his Eileith had forgotten about him? Not at all. He would be his one partner, his sole companion. And as long as he lived, no one else would ever capture his heart.

You surely didn’t forget about me, did you, Mine? he asked. I am sorry I took so long, but those others needed to be corrected. They are so emotional. He said, with a snort. I knew you would wait. You wouldn’t doubt me, would you? You are the only one for me, F'ronell. And I shall be the only one for you! he declared, adamantly.

"I would never doubt you." the boy said. They were meant to be together, and now, he understood why he had waited. Why the others had passed him by, because he had already been chosen. "And we will always be together."

Eileith studied him, trying to figure what he was doing with his foot. He looked back over his shoulder and noticed the Journey Brown trumpeting childishly. Ah! Now he understood. You are good to amuse my brother. he said, warmly. (For certainly that was all he was doing, His would not stray!) But now, if you don't mind.. he went on, hunger consuming his eyes and his mind. He lifted his head, proudly. We hunters can ignore the weaknesses of our body, when it is necessary to do so. But for now, I think, it is good to eat.

"Of course." The boy paused only for a moment, for long enough to smile at the playful brown. "Go on, little one," he said. "Find yours. They'll play with you." He knew that Eileith would understand, and would be willing to wait just a moment longer. With that done, he led his brown over to the tables where the food was waiting. "Let's get you fed."
