Unlike many others, Kashikoi Narashi remembers nothing of his life before he was born again in the 40th district of East Rugonkai. That, or he just refuses to admit anything about his once-life. Despite his amazingly high intelligence, he would constantly hinder his performance in everything to maintain a perfectly average ranking throughout his education at Shinōreijutsuin. So middle-lined had he become that he was more than often overlooked by his peers and even by many of his instructors. In fact, after completion of his six year curriculum at Shinōreijutsuin, his name was omitted from the list of graduated students, not because of his averagely low grades, but because they simply forgot about him. As such, he was never scheduled to take the exam to become a member of the Gotei 13, so he returned to the Shinōreijutsuin the following year. During his 15th year, Kashikoi Narashi truly disappeared from the academy. Accepting an invitation to join the soul king's private guard squad he began to hide amidst a new crowd. Despite keeping a low profile over the following decades, Kashikoi Narashi still managed to obtain Vice-Captain ranking within the Ōzokutokumu.

Shikai Description: Blade shortens in length, but otherwise remains the same as normal/sealed state. The deeper a level of Shikai being used, the shorter the blade is.
Shikai Ability:

      Lvl 1 - Ten'nen Meisai (Natural Camouflage)
In this stage, Hebikikan's blade decreases in size to that similar of a wakizashi blade. When using this technique, Hebikikan's wielder becomes undetectable through the senses of smell and taste.

      Lvl 2 - Fukashi (Invisibility)
In this stage, Hebikikan's blade decreases in size to that similar of a tanto blade. When using this technique, Hebikikan's wielder becomes undetectable through the senses of sight and sound as well as the senses of smell and taste blocked out from the previous stage.

      Lvl 3 - Kanzen Ni Shōshitsu (Complete Vanishment)
In this stage, Hebikikan's blade decreases in size until there is no blade, leaving only the hilt and guard. When using this technique, Hebikikan's wielder becomes completely undetectable to all senses, including the ability of others to sense his spiritual pressure.

      Lvl 4 - Sonzaishinai (Nonexistence)
In this stage, Hebikikan's blade decreases in size until there is no blade, leaving only the hilt and guard. When using this technique, Hebikikan's wielder can move through objects and/or allow objects to move through him for no more than five minutes at a time. After dropping out of this level, a cool down time of at least as much time must be observed.

Bankai Name: Hagayui Hebikikan (Irritated Serpent-Mirror)
Bankai Incantation: "Teki wa jinsoku katsu seikaku ni utsu." (Strike the enemy, fast and true.)
Bankai Description: Any shrinkage in Hebikikan's blade due to the usage of Shikai techniques is voided and the blade is replenished back to it's natural length. Additionally, the length of the blade acquires the look of being highly polished.

• 39. Enkōsen (円閘扇, Round Lock Fan) Summons a shield of condensed reiatsu to block opponents' attacks.
• 58. Kakushitsuijaku (摑趾追雀, Trace-Catching Pursuit Sparrows) Tracks and locates any spiritual force the user focuses on.
• 62. Hyapporankan (百歩欄干, Hundred-Step Rail Parch) A rod formed of energy is thrown towards the target before it disintegrates into numerous short rods which are used to pin the target to the surroundings and render them immobile.
