After the film came out, which was about insulting Islam and our beloved Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him), some Muslims had went on a rampage. It is a very tiny percent of the Muslim world that went on this rampage, and of course, the media tried to display as much of this minorities actions as much as possible.
Many of us have been hurt by this, but we should remember than no matter what, despite the attempts of non-Muslims to make fun of Islam with the excuse of "free speech", it doesn't affect Islam at the end of the day. Allah SWT has given this religion and the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) honor, and that is enough. It doesn't matter what anyone else says. So stay strong, and know that our job is just to keep following the Qur'an and Sunnah and spread this message forward.
Here is a video of a brother who is also speaking of this matter. As a matter of fact I got inspired by him to make this "announcement" in the first place:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6zuKbBlmRoHis name is Nouman Ali Khan. For those of you who don't know this brother, I really recommend you hear other lectures by him as well. He's very inspiring, Mashallah.
May Allah keep us all on the straight path. Ameen.
