Tree. Rock. Bird. Flower. Same scenery day in and day out. Same mild harts and hinds. Nothing like before. It was really quite tiring having nothing of importance or intrigue to focus upon. Yawning, Dicen continued his walk. Eyes almost glossy as they found nothing to draw his interest.
Specta trotted alongside him, the foxlet sniffing about at plants and pawing at rocks marbled with simple crystals. Princey boys attitude had been wearing on her a bit and she just wished he would cheer up a scotch. She rubbed against his legs in a cat like manner to give him a bit of attention but that never worked. Somehow...showing affection or attention to him was the least helpful thing she could do.
"Specta...there's been nothing today. Not a single thing as interesting or...different as.." He sighed again, trying not to go down that path and Specta felt her ears droop a bit in response.

Shakespeare had returned! Inhaling the air, smiling upon seeing the birds flit about, even various woodland creatures skittered across his path. It was good to be home, traveling was always needed for a change of pace. The glen was just too... what was the word? "Drab." He muttered noting how things didn't seem to change... much anyway.
"Ah well..." smiling fondly at his beloved home he moved with an easy and confidence born from being who he was. It wasn't vanity or anything snide or malevolent, Shae was just a Herla who like to be in good spirits no matter what. A soft hum escaped his lips as he trotted through the glen, smiling at the creatures that stopped near the path to listen. He eventually let out a soft melody singing a tune of love and mystery. Something he'd been working on during his travels, hopefully his family would enjoy his new song once he returned to greet them.

A gently melody floated on wind and met Dicen's ears with a subtle hello. It was barely audible at first...but it was different. A song he hadn't heard before...and it wasn't half bad. He could do with a little music. Diverting from his path, Dicen rotated his ears in hopes to find the vocalist sooner than later. The hart actually interested, he moved with a graceful purpose. Specta hopping along after him.
It didn't take him too long to locate the vocalist, a hart that was no more interesting than the forest around them. His voice and potentially mind was an exception. Eyes watching him with interest, Dicen moved towards him and bowed his head. His locks cascading back down as he came to meet the hart at eye level. A smile of warmth, "Hello...may I say that your voice and that song...its lovely. Would you sing for me?" Dicen spoke with a tone that held command but fell like a compliment and request.

At the sudden appearance of the hart, Shakespeare slowed from his song stopping completely with a curt node. "Hello." He offered mulling over the idea of singing for the other. He wasn't shy by any means but wondered of what kind of song he could probably serenade this individual with. "What kind of music do you prefer. Sad, happy, loving, mysterious?" He inquired thinking of the many different tunes he had stored for use. As he thought about what to sing, he hadn't noticed he was already humming a light tune and soon was in full song as he trotted around the other hart, ignorant of his presence all the same. He liked to move and dance to his music, helping him keep time with the beat. When the song came to its crescendo he let the note hang in the air for a moment longer before opening his eyes and gauging the other hart's acceptance. "I hope you liked it. I have plenty other songs that might be more to your liking if you prefer."

It almost pained Dicen when the hart stopped his song, even if it was to acknowledge him. He had asked for him to sing, not to ask questions. He might have reminded him of such but...as if the hart could hear his thoughts a song began once more. Closing his eyes, the hart felt himself still. To become silent in his ever turning mind that was never satisfied. Yes...yes this was what he needed. She would have loved this.
As the song came to an end, he mourned the last note. His eyes opening with a lazy labor. "I...loved it. Don't stop. You mustn't stop." His voice was filled with a urgency that overwhelmed his normal honey soaked toned. "Would you sing me another? Anything. Anything new that you yourself have composed. Composing...I was never adept...but you have a gift. Share it with me..." Again...a request and always a command.

For some reason Shae couldn't understand why the urgency in the other hart's voice pained him. He seemed at odds but upon his pleading request, yet demand, Shae was not of the mind to deny him. "I do have a new song." One he had hoped to keep to himself, perhaps a special doe would enjoy the melody but it wouldn't do if he pelted out the song and it sent the poor thing running. He could test it upon this one. As if an after thought he offered his name between hums, "I am called Shakespeare, you are?" He asked and soon began his song as if expecting it upon his completion. The song started slow, meant to draw an individual to it before surrounding them with a calming, pleasant melody. It was meant for dancing but any number of activities could accompany the tune as one listened.

Again with the speaking? What good did wasted words do for either of them? The man was a musician not a speaker or weaver of words. That was easy enough for Dicen to determine. Such a gift...the gentle pull of the tune drawing his mind and the strings of his soul to a subtle tension as the song began. He could feel the draw to move...but Dicen was never one for dancing or frolicking. It was frivolous and for some, disastrous. But the music...the notes...
Eyes closing once more, he tried to listen as she might have. Tried to feel the vibrations of the notes through his hooves and flesh. It was difficult..but new and strange. It was something worth remembering. This song...was worth remembering...and perhaps even the hart singing. What had his name been? He'd have to ask again, simply say he was memorized by the music. Simply and true enough. Even if he rarely took care to pay attention to names in the first place. He only remembered Specta's because he had given it to her.

Shae watched curiously at the other as he sung, he moved around him, allowing the music to hug the hart closely. Smiling to himself he wondered what this one was thinking, how he felt or if he were listening at all?
Moving on silent feet he danced to his own song, glad for the distraction. Even if the hart urged him for the song, he didn't know the other very well. Who knew? He might not even see him after today but for the time being he would indulge. It was around this time the song was coming to a close. He slowly let it reach its climax before finishing with a slow, warming close. Eyes on the hart who had requested his song, he smiled but kept his words to himself. This was a very curious individual.

Dicen kept his eyes closed under the very last tremor of vibrations subsided from his body. With a listless motion, they flit open slowly. Their normally bored and glossy sheen absent. The depth he hid from the world revealing itself for only a moment...a brief moment as tears retreated and fought against release. The public was present...and he never revealed himself in front of them.
As if the liquid was absorbed back into his ducts, the moment was gone and Dicen straightened his form into the regal pose he often took. "A name...I believe you requested my name. You have indulged me, so I shall indulge you as well. I am called Dicen...Dicen Grace. Pardon but...I'm ever so sorry. I was lost in your music and misplaced your name amongst it?" As if he was compensating for the previous slip of character, Dicen's voice was slathered in sweet luscious tones. His eyes locked with the musician's. It was a rare...quite rare effort to make a connection. A connection that hopefully willed the hart to indulge him quite a bit more.
Specta's ears perked a bit as she heard him ask for a name. It was rare for him...and the fact he cared enough to ask was even rarer.

"Dicen... Dicen Grace." He spoke the name softly, testing it on his tongue as he decided he liked it. A name that had a nice ring to it. Blushing lightly from having the other forget his name so soon, he quickly replied. "No worries. My name is Shakespeare. It's nice to meet you." He offered in reply. He blinked a few times noticing the way Dicen had been watching him. Somehow he wasn't sure how to accept such attentions, he didn't normally sing for strangers but Dicen had been so enthralled with his music. It excited him.
"Perhaps..." He began but then shook his head turning to walk away. He began whistling instead smiling to himself before he went into song again. For some reason he didn't feel embarrassed or self-conscious around Dicen. As he walked away, he stopped briefly watching the other with amethyst jeweled eyes, as if willing Dicen to follow. He continued on hoping and wondering if maybe the hart would be upset with him for leaving or if he would perhaps continue on with him to the glen.

Meet. Was that all? Dicen felt his uplifted mood quickly drift south as the musician began to simply walk away from him without even saying goodbye. Had asking for his name once more really been that much of an affront? he cared about the hart's music...shouldn't that be enough? Ugh...names...social rules. They always got in the way of his desires.
"Are you simply going to leave without even an adieu?" Huffing slightly, Dicen walked after the hart and then stood before him to block his path.
