If you are daring enough to go through the school's labyrinth, please make sure you're out by sundown. Or forever you will stay in the twisted maze.

For once, Donnie had nothing to say. Mainly because he wasn't sure what to talk about. Candy hadn't asked what had happened between him and Amy and if she didn't ask he didn't feel the need to tell her. He felt sort of ashamed that he got that made over a little criticism. He thought people like that only were around when he little, guess not. Only thing that mattered was that Candy liked it. Enough to take a picture of it, which reminded him, he was going to ask her about her camera. There now he could think of something to discuss. Keeping his eyes in front of him, Donnie picked the best way to ask about it. "How long have you been taking pictures of pancakes?" He asked, making come out as more of a joke. He had never heard her laugh before...maybe it could be a goal to try and get a giggle out.

Moving his eyes to look down at the floor, he noticed how different both of their steps were. Not only did Candy's make little clacking noises from her heels, but they were so small. It took at least two of her steps to match one of his. Something just to add onto the cuteness. His eyes moved from their feet up to Candy's face. It looked focused, like it usually did. It always looked like she was thinking about something, though he could never tell what. Why couldn't she just be an open book and tell him everything he wanted to know about her...then again that wouldn't be very fun...Questions, that's all he had to do. Ask stuff.

Before he could do just that and ask another question, they were outside, standing in front of a large, neatly cut bush. "We're not lost...we're not lost..." Donnie thought to himself, panicking slightly. There was a sign placed in front of them that read, "Labyrinth, Never Enter Alone." It made him laugh, "What's so dangerous about a Labyrinth? Sounds stupid anyway." He shrugged and turned back around to head inside, expecting Candy to follow. Truth was that he feared going through it, what if they got? That never enter alone warning was just screaming that it was a bad idea.

They walked, and at least Anne was able to walk in the heels. Just small steps though, small steps, since even if the person inside her tried to be of assistance, Anne feared that she would trip for no good reason, remembering how last night, she was prone to getting injured. She noticed, her blue eyes darting around, that in the halls, as her steps echoed loudly, that so much light was streaming through the windows from the sun, so much that the sun was enlarged in her eyes. But even though that was that, the hallway was still dark. It reminded her of herself, but there was no time to think of things like that! Anne's focus was on not making a fool of herself while walking with Donnie. She was afraid that she had already made a stupid impression of herself, probably as a small little sister or some kind of child that he had to take care of. You wouldn't tell, but Anne wanted to be known as independent, reason why she didn't take off the heels when she tripped that time in the dorm. Anne wanted to look like she could do more than just fall down and hurt herself. She may seem weak, well, she is weak, but at least she was independent and she believed that was just enough to get her through life.

He then asked her a silly question, and it took a lot of willpower to keep herself from chuckling, but she stayed strong, her ultimate pokerface technique not showing a flaw whatsoever. Although inside, Anne was giggling a little as she looked up at him with her bright blue eyes, listening. She had her camera inside her bag, and she felt it with her hand, just to make sure it was there. "It's not just pancakes . . . " she replied, placing her hands behind her back and looking up at the ceiling, her hair falling and tickling her neck, "I like to take pictures . . . of . . .really memorable things . . . since those pancakes where the first food . . . that someone's ever made for me." It was true, since she was always the one to cook for herself and others. So not counting restaurants and other establishments she was treated to, it was really her first home-cooked meal where she didn't have to cook. She hoped that didn't make him feel weird or anything. It was just those little first experiences that she wanted to take document of. "They were really good." she continued, looking down at her heels, thinking about how Amy didn't feel the same way, "I really liked them . . . ." She hid a little color that showed up on her cheeks with her hair, and she looked to the side, not tilting her head or anything just to see his reaction. But since when did reactions matter to her?

Anne also noticed that she could now at least look up at him without hurting her neck. She almost wanted to thank these heels, although she didn't really want to at the same time, since they seemed to be so difficult to walk in. Sure, she was able to get used to it pretty quickly, seeing as though she used to do it before in those times that she couldn't remember. The times that she couldn't remember. For a second, she also noticed that one of his eyes were covered again, just how she noticed last night and wondered what he wanted to hide. She didn't ask, but she wanted to know. Anne knew that other people also had their old secrets that they wanted to hide, just how Anne hid that she was a demon. But she decided that she would ask a question as well, since it would make him feel better. Anne could tell that he felt uncomfortable doing all the talking anyway. "I didn't know you liked to cook . . ." she inquired after a long silence, "That's very neat . . . Most men I know . . I have to cook for. . ." Anne wasn't mocking Donnie, but more praising him.

Then, they finally made their way outside, Anne shielding her eyes from the sun for a second with her arm, then removing it after her eyes had gotten used to its harmful rays. They kept walking as she admired the scenes around campus, everything seemed to be so lovely that she almost wanted to document it all, although that would lag them, they would probably late so she saved it until after school. Her bright blue eyes darted around tree by tree, almost smiling as one tree held a small bird within a nest, chirping the morning away. It was those little beauties of nature that made Anne feel so happy.

Soon, they found themselves facing the Labyrinth, facing the sign that welcomed them to it. Anne was very good at puzzles, especially Labyrinths, she always knew the little secret to unlocking them, her bright blue eyes glowing brighter at the thought of going inside. Donnie didn't seem to be fazed by the fact that he could easily get themselves lost in it though, and the fact made Anne wonder what he was really thinking, if he was scared or if he was really not scared. Better word, worried. School was going to start in a few too . . . . "We can go inside." she then admitted, with almost a hint of excitement in her voice, walking next to Donnie as she took out her camera, her eyes trailing a small, blue butterfly that fluttered inside. So that was the reason.

She was next to Donnie, but then the butterfly started to fly away, making Anne's brows narrow in frustration. "Come on . .!!" Anne whined, almost like a little girl as she wrapped one of her hands in his, the other holding the camera that was also loosely tied around her neck, "It's running away . .!!" Her hair followed behind her as the clip started to loosen, Anne not noticing any of it. She found the little one to be intriguing, since it was blue. Anne loved the color blue, and soon she found that she had whisked the both into the depths of the puzzle.

She was actually talking! More then normal at least...Candy was talking and explaining things about herself to him. It made Donnie feel happy and special in a way. It was pretty stupid to feel this way, he just wanted to know so much more about her. Like how long had her hair been that short and if it used to be long, why would she ever want to cut it. He could imagine her now with long hair, flowing behind her while she walked. Either way, her hair length didn't matter all that much. Short hair just made her more...her, if that made sense. The way that she could still be so cute and look someone like a young male, it made Donnie want to laugh, but he held it in.

Donnie had to focus on the words she was saying now and most of them caught him off guard. Specially when she had said that she enjoyed the food he had made for breakfast. In a way, he wanted to tell her that he had only made it for her to taste. At first it was only to one up her cooking skills, but now he was starting to think that he just wanted to impress her all together. Everything he was thinking about saying he kept inside and just took in the compliments she was giving him, wishing that she wouldn't stop. During the silence he was smiling, not saying a word. Such little words could mean so much to him at the time.

She deserved an explanation, didn't she? At least something to tell her about why he enjoyed the art of culinary so much. "I always have, since I was in primary school." He admitted, looking down at her. "It's a funny story really, one of a boy who liked to play with toy kitchen sets and make play dough spaghetti." He said all this while still staring at the labyrinth in front of them. "We'll save that for another day though." He urged to move onto a different subject.

As they were about to leave from the dreaded Labyrinth, something small and soft could be felt around his hand before Donne found himself getting pulled off into the entrance of what he feared. "Wait what..!" She was strong for her little stature and he still couldn't believe that she could drag him. He didn't hesitate to follow her though and when he thought they had gone far enough he wrapped his other hand around her waist, in an attempt to stop her from going any further. When this didn't work, he picked her up all together, taking his hand from hers and throwing her over his shoulder. When he had found a bush that curved into a corner he stopped and put her back down on her feet. "Okay, slow down. What was it you saw?" Donnie didn't even know what she was chasing after, it better have been something important enough to drag him into the Labyrinth over. Wait..they were in the Labyrinth...the twisted and confusing Labyrinth.

Donnie's face lost color and he looked around, finding two openings on either side of them. Which way had they come again? Great...just great.

Anne wondered why she spoke so much about herself to this boy. He was just another ignorant one right? Why did she take so much care in allowing herself to open up to him? Those things, those questions ran around her head in many circles, always waiting to be answered. And even though Anne pondered on it many times, it still seemed as though that the answer could never be found. Her blue eyes were cast on the ground as they kept silent after she spoke so much. Did that make him feel uncomfortable how she talked so much about herself to him? Was he the type to enjoy when others talked about themselves and nothing more? No. Donnie didn't seem to be that way, he was much nicer, she knew. Wait-----why did she assume something that could so easily be disproved?! Was Anne losing it now that she's been cooked good food?! She needed to wake up soon before she gets to close to the line she drew for herself when it came to making friends. Anne wouldn't want to step over her boundaries.

She listened to Donnie and found him very interesting, also adding the fact that he knew how to cook a meal for himself----a good meal at that. Anne started to wonder if he could do more besides cooking. Maybe Donnie knew how to fold clothes or do the laundry, maybe he knew how to take care of children, maybe he knew how to write books, maybe he knew how to do so much more! Wait---why think of writing and taking care of children? Those were Anne's specialties, and she couldn't help but think that something was wrong with her when she started to imagine his skills were also similar to hers. Did she want his skills to be similar to hers? What the hell was going on in her head?! It was almost as if she had no control over her thoughts even though it was her own mind. "Clear your head . . clear your head . . " Anne thought to herself as she closed her eyes as they walked in the halls, "Throw those unnecessary feelings out, they are not needed." or are they? Maybe she needed them to keep herself from going insane. Maybe she was afraid to keep them or else that would be the end product . . .

              --------------------------------------------------------------------

The outside nature helped with what she needed. Especially the Labyrinth. One minute, they were standing there, facing the sign, and then the next, she found herself running inside, chasing after something she needed to make a memory of : her first blue butterfly. Yes, she had seen orange, yellow, green, and all kinds of butterflies who bore other colors, but she had never seen one having the color she loved : which was blue. Sure, one of the kids from her memory had promised that they would find one for her before her birthday, but did that person ever fulfill their promise? No. On her birthday, all that person gave him was a pair of socks and a dress she's never worn. Back then, Anne had gotten her hopes up on a butterfly, but then was let down, letting her learn the lesson that: "Don't think you'll get something just because someone told you. You always have to get it yourself." And so starting that day, she's been in search of the rare blue butterfly she's never seen. But right there in the Labyrinth, she found it and Anne knew that she was going to get a picture of it no matter what.

What Anne couldn't figure out though was why she brought Donnie on impulse. Maybe she could have used the other hand to carry her camera, but it soon found itself wrapped around his, and no matter what, there was this feeling in her heart that she didn't want to let go. Maybe Anne had thought that the butterfly was something she could share with Donnie as well. Maybe Donnie has never seen a pretty blue butterfly just like Anne? Either way, she had dragged him along as she desperately tried to chase the little creature, turning left and right over and over again to what seemed like an endless amount of time. The little butterfly was so delicate and so fragile, Anne wanted to wrap her hands around it and keep it in her memories forever. This desire made her ignore all the common sense that was drilled into her mind, this desire made her go and be childish, doing something that only a stupid person would do. For a second, she could have heard Donnie protest on going inside, but she was so focused on the butterfly that when she lifted the camera to her eye and was about to take a picture of it, Anne didn't notice that Donnie had picked her up.

Luckily, Anne had taken the picture at the right moment, right when the butterfly opened its wings before Donnie carried her, Anne snapping out of that odd, childish mindset and getting back to reality, holding the camera so close to her. It seemed as though Donnie didn't want to go through this, she thought, and then Anne soon started regretting what she had done. She had been a fool to think that she had the right to drag Donnie there with her. She had been a fool to think that he wanted to go inside, he just had started walking away from the idea before she dragged him into it! So as Donnie carried her over his shoulder just for that little amount of time, Anne looked at the butterfly image to comfort herself, glad that she had snapped a picture of it just at the right time. It was hard to tell since her hair, even though with the clip, started falling over her face, but she knew it was a good shot, the butterfly was right smack in the middle. Her blue eyes showed a hint of happiness, yet a hint of regret as she looked at it, wondering if taking this butterfly was worth it. Yes, yes it was.

Anne then was put down on the soft grass that tickled her legs, and then was questioned about what she had seen. Oh dear. She couldn't just admit that she wanted to see a stupid butterfly, yet, she couldn't just tell a lie. That wasn't what a good person would do. Anne looked up at Donnie with her sparkling blue eyes just for a second before looking down, taking a moment to think of what she should do. And so, as she brought her knees close to her chest, she decided to just show him with her camera, scrolling through to find that Anne had taken three snapshots, picking the best one to show him. "A blue monarch . . . butterfly . . " she replied, holding it up for him to see as she stayed in her sitting position, knowing that she could see it from his height just fine.

Anne also noticed that Donnie was becoming pale, almost like Anne when she didn't eat the night before. Was he afraid of puzzles like these? Anne was very good at them, that was for sure, but I guess he didn't know that. She had gotten stuck in these many times before, and so found tricks and tips to find her way out. "What's wrong?" she asked, standing up and then wrapping the camera around her waist, "You look pale." Anne put her hand over his forehead to check if he was sick or something, since usually that's how the kids she took care of looked when that seemed to be going on.

There was something wrong with Donnie, it wasn't that hard to tell. The dead give away was how his head kept turning from side to side to look at the two openings they had either came from or were going to go through. He wasn't one that dealt well with mazes, puzzles,or anything that required more then average intelligence. Was he an idiot, no. Just someone who didn't have the patients or wit to ever figure them out.You could say he was panicking, but that would have been and understatement. For a minute or two, he forgot that Candy was even sitting right there in front of him. He was to busy thinking about how his grandfather had once taken him to an amusement part for the first time. The rides were fast, the games easy to win, and the food was packed with enough sugar to keep a kid bouncing off the walls for days. Everything about that day was perfect until he got off of one of the rides to find that his grandfather wasn't there waiting for him. The scared sterling haired boy wandered around the park for hours before his name was called over the park's speakers. Turns out that his grandfather had just gone for a bathroom break and when he came back Donnie had walked off. The only thing he learned that day was to stay put if he ever got lost again...oh and to never follow strange men stating that they knew where his grandfather was. That's a whole different story though and right now he didn't need fill his mind with mistakes of his childhood.

There were many differences between what had happened at the amusement park and what was going on now, the main one being that he still had his bubblegum friend with him. That was, if they were friends at all. Donnie thought they were. Any girl he met had always wanted to be more then acquaintance with him. Anne though, she wasn't just any girl. Ignoring her pink hair and sparkling blue eyes, she behaved differently. Nothing like the giggly fan girls that always had bothered him in the past, more like someone who had a story of their own behind them. Which in Donnie's opinion, was much more interesting.

It was then that he noticed the camera she was holding out to him. What in the world could she be wanting to show to him in a time like this? He took the time out of panicking to observe the picture, staring at it for what seemed like forever before a small smile washed over his worried face. "All this...for a...butterfly..." Donnie laughed hysterically before sitting himself down next to Candy's side. When he regained his composer he felt that he should say something before it hurt her feelings. Wiping the corner of his right eye from tears he sighed, "I didn't mean to laugh. The butterfly, it's beautiful. The perfect thing to add to that little memory thing you do" he began, and to answer her question he shook his head, "No, everything is fine. I just was worried about...being late to class, that's all." He lied. How would Candy think of him if he had told her that he was afraid of a little maze... Donnie twisted his finger around a blade of grass and then looked over at Candy. She hadn't made fun of the way he loved to cook...why would this time be any different?

Donne bit his bottom lip and placed his hands in his lap before giving Candy a sheepish smile. "Truth is...I can't handle small spaces like this. Being lost scares the fuc-" he was about to cuss before realizing that maybe she didn't approve of that kind of language,"living daylights out of me and thinking of being alone..." His voice trailed off before he could finish. It was almost minute of him staring at Candy before he started to speak again, "Sorry." Donnie laughed, though it sounded forced. His whole attitude changed as he stood back up and offered out his hand to help her up as well. "Do you think we can find the wait out?" He changed the subject, having a weird idea that she did.

For a minute, Anne looked up at Donnie with worried eyes, knowing that he was not alright as a breeze blew by, making her hair move to the side before it settled down. She noticed that he must have not been exposed to many of these (times when lost) as Anne has, and probably feels worried about being late to school or something of what not, since they seemed to be stuck in here. Knowing that she was stuck too, Anne also looked from side to side once at first in search of the butterfly, but then in thought about starting to make her way out of here, starting to see that this was a problem, afraid that Donnie would get in trouble. And so as she thought, she could remember her first time in one of these when she looked around. It was a similar Labyrinth to this one, only that it was darker, colder, and she was alone and hungry, crying since she didn't know what was going on. It had been from a memory she couldn't seem to forget no matter how much she tried, and as Anne looked at this Labyrinth, she noticed more curious similarities that made her remember of the other one. Of course, the anguish of the memory didn't show on her face as part of her mind started to wander off to focus on fixing the problem. . . . But there was that other part of her mind that wandered back to the memories she so loathed.

Oh, how it was cold, how it was windy when Anne was trapped in that maze, tears running down her cheeks and her arms hugging her knees as she sat, alone; with no one to find her. The poor girl had run inside because she had seen a weird white presence, and because of her curiosity, she was stuck in the situation she was now, the sky turning dark and the sun disappearing, bringing its warm delights with it, that selfish ball of orange. What took its place instead was rain, and Anne found it difficult to climb the towering bushes as the water made her slippery, bruises and cuts appearing on her body with each attempt to try and climb to see how big the maze is, and which road to turn to get herself out. Anne back then was hungry, Anne was cold, and Anne wanted to get out, knowing that there was no one around to hear her, even if she screamed. Yes, Anne could remember the thoughts running through her head as she became frustrated with herself, rolling on the floor and her dress that she wore becoming dirtier by the second: "HOW I WISH I COULD JUST DIE!"

But that was all in the past, and she made it out then, being found by a small family who wanted to take care of her until the other parents showed up. This moment was different. The sun was still there blessing her with its warm delights, she wasn't alone; Donnie was here and he wasn't going anywhere and leaving her, knowing that he would need Anne now the most. She wasn't pulled down by hunger, since she ate his pancakes this morning, and she wasn't a child now, Anne had more experiences being lost and could find her way out of this Labyrinth no problem. Everything was different, she reassured herself as she sat down after showing him the picture, seeing him laugh out of control as her bright blue eyes stared at the blades of grass, her camera wrapped around her waist as she felt the sharp points of the grass with her hand, remembering how they cut her feet that one fateful week she was stuck in there. They can't hurt her now, since her body was accustomed to their roughness. Anne was now used to the downs rather than the ups of life itself.

She waited until she stopped laughing, her blue eyes looking down at her camera, not allowing what he just did to hurt her feelings and when he did, she looked up as soon as he apologized and nodded, giving him the sign that it was okay-----"Anne gets that a lot, so you aren't the only one" kind of nod. So he was worried about class, it seems, and the reason why he was worried was all her fault, she had let her emotions take over her sense of judgement, chasing that butterfly as if she had been chasing something that stole her camera. But there was something else she wasn't catching about Donnie, something that he revealed afterward he plopped himself down next to her, Anne not talking since she didn't really have an answer to give him.

"That's understandable . . . " Anne replied after a silence, directed at his statement about being in small areas, "I'm already used to . . .. being in situations like this . . . so it's easy . . for me to . . cope . . " She hesitated saying the last part, hugging her knees as if she was afraid of his answer, her head buried inside them, hiding her face for a while. She hoped that it wouldn't make her strange or something to be easily pitied, that was not what she aimed for. So when Donnie stood up and reached her hand out to Anne after asking the question, of course, Anne took it, and stood up, looking around to see if there was something she could use to climb, and if there was nothing, she could use something that she had on her now, since she can. She wanted to get Donnie out of here at least since he seemed to be the most worried about the situation, and she felt bad about dragging him in here. Her bright blue eyes searched for a vine as the breeze blew, making hair fall in front of her face even though she had the clip. What a useless tool.

"I need to see the overall picture of the puzzle." she said, not pausing or adding gaps in between her words this time, taking off the clip in her hair since it added weight," . . a vine . . that would be nice. "

It didn't surprise Donnie how effortless it was to help Candy up from the warm grass, which now had a dent from where she had been sitting. She was such a small fragile thing and compared to the dent Donnie had made next to hers you would think a child and their mother or father had sitting down together, enjoying the warm day that never came very often. He felt responsible for Candy, like a big brother. He had never had any siblings, he wouldn't have any contact with them if he did anyway. All of his family were long gone after the incident with his father, not bothering to call and keep in touch. Writings letters was something Donnie tried when he was arrested, but who really wants to write back to a relative in juvenile hall? Candy was a big girl though, big enough to understand that things happen in people's past, no doubt that things had happened in hers. He just feared that he wouldn't be able to care for her if he couldn't even care for himself correctly, "Where's all of this coming from..?" The thought echoed in Donnie's head and made him grimace. He was making everything so complicated from thinking to much. He rubbed his left arm and looked around at the over sized bushes that surrounded them, letting his thoughts drift away.

Everything was so predictable about their situation. Candy knew how to find their way out, this wasn't a bad thing at all, Donnie just always hoped that he'd get to save the day. Be the hero and have Candy be impressed by how he kept his cool the whole time. Impressing her would just be the icing on the cake, really, he just wanted to impress himself. The day wasn't over just yet though, in fact, it had just begun. There was still time for him to help in some way or another. There was a breeze, not very heavy one, but one strong enough to blow hair out of one's face. This was happening to Candy, Donnie to, but she looked like she was having much less miserable time with it.

The wind picked up and blew stronger, making leaves from the trees outside of the labyrinth fly into the maze. Now they were lost with them, just until a bigger breeze would blow and free them. Donnie's hair was bothering him more then it usually did and he almost wished that he had Candy's clip to avoid it blowing away from his face,or rather, his eye. There was always something about his left eye that he liked to keep hidden. There wasn't an accident with it or anything of that sort, just an odd mutation that he never liked to speak of...no one had ever asked about it anyway, making it an unimportant subject. Donnie always thought he was a little crazy for wanting to hide it, but when the other kids started saying that it was weird to look at, he began to wear his hair over it, just to shut everyone up.

Brushing his hair down with his hand, Donnie sighed in relief when the when died out and returned to its refreshing breeze. All the while, Candy was looking for a way out of the Labyrinth, needing a something to get high up and look around. There was a height issue here. Candy being much shorter then all of the shrubs that towered over. Donnie however, was almost able to see over, them being only a few inches taller then him. This was his chance. Being daddy long legs wasn't bad after all, just what they needed to help escape. "I think I can help with that." He chuckled and suddenly picked up Candy from behind and sat her on his shoulders, holding tightly around her legs to make sure she wouldn't fall off. "What do you see short stuff?" Donnie asked, staring up at her for once.

Anne kept looking around after she asked, walking up to one of the places where another direction would branch off and looking from side to side, her eyes looking for any dead ends that they could avoid. It wasn't too hard to see them since it was day even though the situations she was put in these were that it was dark and she had no chance of looking and predicting a dead end. As she tried to focus, again, she could remember the same situation years back then, although today, she really didn't want to think about something as horrid as that as she shook her head, her hair following the breeze. "Stop it . . " she thought to herself as she closed her eyes and then opened them back again, "You need to focus . . . " And it wasn't only that that had some attention that needed to be shifted. Anne somewhat felt guilty this time since she felt that it was her fault that Donnie got into this situation and became nervous, since he wasn't the one to stay cool in places like this and the guilt was really eating her alive. Anne wanted to apologize and actually say "sorry", but then it might bother him again, like when she had kept apologizing for the pancakes and other things. Anne tried to convince herself that she would be the one to save him this time, and he wouldn't have the chance or else it wouldn't be fair. " If she didn't focus now, how would be able to save him? " she kept telling herself as she continued to examine the place, her delicate hand touching the shrubs just to feel their thickness and if worse comes to worse they could just chop these down. Hey, that wasn't such a bad idea in itself, right? A smile came to her face at the thought of doing so, which would be very amusing.

Speaking of which now, didn't Anne have a chance to repay him for the pancakes? Didn't she have the chance to save him overall, being so good at these puzzles? Wasn't this the chance she was waiting for just so she could even out the score? It was only then she realized it when the wind started to pick up, and her eyes widened at the though of it, not showing Donnie because she had her back turned at the moment, examining all the shrubs and flowers that grew over there. Yes, this was her chance. Although the chance was hanging on the action that she is to see what she was facing, which was basically the entire puzzle. These shrubs were still taller, and she didn't really want to climb them, but if she had to, she would . . she guessed. There was only one reason why she was reluctant to though, and that was because it was the first day of school, and having clothes with grass stains on them would not look too good impression wise for the teacher.

Anne then was annoyed at how the wind picked up, how it kept moving her hair all over the place, just being plain annoying. If she put on her clip, it would annoy her more, since even that secured lock of hair would move side to side, again, also being annoying. When she wondered if Donnie had this problem, she also realized that it would be bothering his hair as well, and his left eye . .. that eye she had wondered about during breakfast would become visible, and Anne could see it. ANNE HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE IT! "No. No. No." she ordered herself again, shaking her head at the thought of looking as she walked another direction not too far from Donnie to see where was where again, "FOCUS. FOCUS . .." A part of her knew that he was probably hiding it, and that part knew that if she saw it, Donnie would probably be angry, and that was not what Anne wanted. Not in this situation no. Although, another part of her wanted to see, and that part was begging and kicking and screaming in her mind to, and it took a lot to keep it quiet as Anne kept waiting for an idea to hit her, an idea so she could be able to grow taller and see the entire labyrinth.

When Donnie started to say that he could help, she tilted her head back, just about to ask how right when his hands touched her and picked her up, placing Anne on his shoulders. For a brief moment, she felt sort of scared and wanted to slap him, since what girl wouldn't feel weird about someone doing so? Hey, Anne was weird, but she still was a young lady, a young lady who was sensible. She had to close her eyes to keep from showing a weird expression, one that seemed angry really. And it did make her feel flustered. No one had ever done that to her before. But it did seem like a good solution, since when Anne looked up, just opening her sparkling blue eyes after that weird experience, she saw almost every part of the puzzle, and the good thing was, she also saw the exit. "Ah!" she breathed out, admiring the view of the place and also memorizing which ways to turn, which were right, right, right, straight, left, right, left, left. "I could see it . . ." she continued, looking around as a small smile appeared on her face. And yes she could, and the view was amazing. It wasn't so dark as it was in the bottom, it was very bright and she actually felt tall for the first time.

There was a feeling though she couldn't shake off, and that was the feeling of Donnie's arms hugging her bare legs, remembering that she was wearing shorts and not pants. Sure, in her other outfit, with actual jeans, she would bear with the feeling, but this time, it was just her skin this time, and no one has never really touched them since she was too far off from other people to. Maybe her friend planned this for her, maybe that girl thought she would meet someone and have him carry her over his shoulders, and the thought of that made Anne angry inside her head as she looked down at him and gave a small smile saying, "I got it . . Thanks. . ." trying to show that she didn't feel too weird. Then, when she looked down, she saw that he looked as if he had really soft hair, and then there was another urge in hand as her blue eyes stared down at it, her hands that were wrapped around his neck wanting to pet his head. "No. No. No." she thought to herself over and over again, "Not again . . "

Donnie smiled up at her happily, almost forgetting the terrifying situation he was in. He could have carried her up there all through the labyrinth if she wished, but by the way she had reacted to his surprise piggy back ride it was unlikely. It was the best option they had right now and Donnie wasn't going to let her climb up anything and risk falling. Candy's emotion soon changed, making him feel better about what he had done. "It's not all that bad being tall, is it?" He laughed, loosening his grip on her legs. He saw that there were red marks left where his arms were, he hadn't been hurting her right? No, she would have told him. She didn't always speak her mind, but if there's one thing Donnie knew about girls, it was that they would always complain if you were doing something wrong. His mother made sure to teach him that. What with the respecting woman talk and the girls are magical creatures talk and then that one talk that every boy gets at a certain age that's just plain hell. It made Donnie shiver just thinking about it.

Her legs...were just so soft. Petite and soft. That's how he could describe Candy in just two words. He found himself staring down at them now, resisting the urge to move his hands and feel how smooth they were. How fair and small they were, the heels at the end only making them look more beautiful. This wasn't perverted or anything...hopefully. Donnie just couldn't get himself to look back up at her, until she spoke in that quiet voice of hers. "Oh, you're welcome." He smiled awkwardly and wondered if she had caught him staring. He quickly knelled down and gently dropped her back on her feet. Then stood back up and faced her, giving her a nod.

Candy had the way out memorized, now all they had to do was walk on. Truth was, Donnie didn't want to leave. As soon as they got to school they would find their classes and be on their way. He'd see her tonight at the dorm, but she might be to tired to talk. They had a long day ahead, the first day always being the hardest, well, for Donnie. Finding friends to hangout with, or at least a group of people. You didn't exactly have to get a long with anyone, just as long as you had people to stand with. He slowly put his hands in his pockets and shrugged, "Guess...we can go now." He mumbled, waiting for her to take the lead and guide him through the maze. Donnie feet were like magnets to his eyes now, not wanting to look at her and so he stared at the ground. His hair hanging low over his face.
