History: She used to be someone else. Somebody's daughter, at least. Probably never a wife or a mother, but even if she had been these things, there is no remnant of them left. Life as a player is hard, they say that you start to become your character, taking on their traits and habits. But still, some part of yourself remains. You are, after all, merely a player in a troupe of irreverent actors. But when time broke, the player was forgotten and only the character remained. She now longer played the clever servant, she was Columbina. Clever, acerbic, sarcastic, sneaky and manipulative. And with no recollection of ever having been anyone else.
The world was now full of crossing timelines and for a while she lost herself in the arts, both old and new. It was amazing to see the dancers and the players as they had been and would be. It was easy to submerge herself into the counter-culture and nightlife that sprang up. Regardless of timeline, a player is always a player and as such, they would always band together for drunken riots and gossip. Columbina placed herself firmly in the center of this new, sparkling life.
As everyone knows, an actor can get into places where others can't. They have a tendency to overhear things and collect bits and pieces of gossip, hoarding secrets like gold. Columbina, with her clever tongue and her lack of morals, began to develop quite a reputation for knowing things that shouldn't be known. It was this ability to gather information that caused l.o.t.u.s. to eventually approach her.
Additional Notes: Why a Commedia player? In High School we worked closely with a playwright by the name of George Herman to put on his play "A Company of Wayward Saints" for our drama teacher's master's project. We studied and obsessed over all things commedia and I developed a deep and abiding love for the art form. Hence, Columbina.
