The evil sun had started to set, filling the sky with blood red color. It seemed that when the glorious light from the sun faded away more deadly things came out to play. It was not for fear of the sun or because they could tolerate its warm glow. Most likely it was because they could not face seeing their actions and deeds clearly in the light. Though seeing was not an issue for a certain mare. Blind grey eyes looked across the darkening world from the sockets of a pale skull that lay painted across her face.
This mare's black coat blended her in with the shadows and the warm rich scent of blood seemed to surround her like a cloak, blocking out any natural scent from her. Splattered across her bone white horn and silver hooves the source of the smell lay. New and old blood hugged and cascaded down this surfaces. Weither it was her blood or that of someone or something else was unknown but what was clear was that though dead eyes seemed to be searching for trouble as with the approaching darkness Bassion moved out from her hiding place.

Baron had chosen this particularly blackening night to go out and "play", He knew the deadly woods well and what lurked in the shadows. Inhaling the deep musky scent of the forest he headed out into his familiar haunts galloping away as swiftly and silently as the foxes but as strong as any stallion.
He loved to run and he loved to embrace the night for it was the only time he felt like he belonged to this new world. Those who dared stand in his way would feel his might and behold his power, he was not one to back down so easily to anyone or anything. Letting out a small whinny of delight he slowed to a walk to enjoy a new area for once and learn of its dark secrets.

A whinny from a some where close caught Bassion's attention. Her head lifted up a bit as her ears flicked to focus on the location. Her nostrils flared as she tried to catch the scent of who had sounded his joy. She could from the cry it as male though it was not of anyone she had seen before. Tilting her head she stepped farther out of the shadows towards the direction she thought the sound came from, her head lowered down. Her movements were slow but even as she continued forward.

With an energetic pace he looked all around him, checking, memorizing every nook cranny and shadow that lay before him. He shook his mane and hopped and skipped like a young one, the night feeding his playful behaviour. Once into what seemed to be the thickest part of the new area he decided to lay down and roll in the dirt and wetness of the blackened earth relishing the cool soil on his body.

Bassion's dark face wrinkled a bit as the sound of running suddenly stop. She could not longer place where the sound was coming from. She felt her teeth bare a bit in irritation. But then the sound of grass being flattened by a body nearish her. She snorted and took a deep breath her dead eyes turning to scan the area before she stepped forward a few paces and the strong scent of another who had been downwind of her hit her just as her silence hoof fell nearly against the stallion who had been rolling around. She bared her teeth again and reared up a bit as if to stop down on the stallion in front of her.
