(why can't I stop forgetting to post with a dice roll? D: )
"Fire again," Eldridge scowled, looking the beast in the eye as another lethal shaft sailed from the ship, finding its mark on the beast's hide.
His crew's spirits were lifting. The beast was bleeding like a pig, their ship was in finer repairs, and their captain, though strict and spiteful, seemed pleased underneath it all with the way things were going. But god, he was not looking very well...

Brian took a deep breath as he burst free from the ice. Summoning up his elemental might he flung himself from the head of the whale out over the open ocean. Spinning about a brilliant spout of blue flame propelled him into the large azure orb in the forehead of the beast. Brian grunted as he froze his feet to either side of the orb and then froze his hands to the orb and began pulling. He wasn't sure what was going to happen when he removed the orb and he wasn't sure if he was going to keep it, destroy it, or give it to the Erosticians.

"Inquisitor Sigil, he did it!"
"What?!"
"The elementalist, he... he..." the awe-struck crewmember pointed to the lone figure atop the beast as he wrested the orb, plucking it from the massive creature.
Eldridge was exhausted. He was tired, injured, near collapse, and otherwise not having a very good day. "Good." He said, simply. He was just glad he didn't have to take much more of this, it seemed.

As soon as Brian plucked the orb from the creature's forehead, it began to wail in torment. It thrashed about until it eventually fell motionless. The whale appeared to be dead after that.
"Thank you, Hero," an ethereal voice said to Brian in an heavenly voice. "The madness of my seal has faded. My name is Sedina, and I shall remember your kindness." As soon as her voice had appeared, it was gone. The sphere Brian held, however, glowed brightly.

"Schlampe..!" Discord grumbled in his native tongue. "The elemental sphere has been seized... We leave at once." With that order, Discord's skeletal crew directed his ship to make a prompt exit.

((Hmmm what to do now...))
Brian blinked at the sudden voice that spoke to him and then stared at the glowing orb. He was quite glad that the whale hadn't burst into water like he had expected though. He jumped off the dead whale with orb still in hand before landing on a spontaneously generated platform of ice. He sat down on the ice and put the orb down besides him. He breathed heavily and winced at the feeling of all the bruises and the light exhaustion that had been built up from several of his more powerful acts of elementalism.
Staring at the orb he had seized he pondered what to do with it. It probably contained the spirit of the water avatar or was at very least her anchor to the material plain. The thought of destroying had faded seeing as how the spirit wasn't as evil as he thought it might have been. He supposed he might keep it for the time being.
