I miss the good ol' days of Gaia. When things were cheaper; but you're right, gold was a whole lot harder to get.
I guess that's why everything is so expensive anymore. :/
Took about a two-year hiatus and now that I'm back they've added SO MANY items, it's hard to keep up with all of them!
And since I'm on one of the impossible quests, I can't buy any of the new stuffs.

None of my friends are on here anymore either! They were mostly Gaia friends, but I guess they all grew out of it?
My sister has an account she's been trying to get back into, she's got a ton of the super good items from back in the day (i.e. AFK hat and stuffs like that); only she can't log back into her account!
So she's refusing to make a new account, since her original one has all her beloved items.
Life tends to make our paths go different ways, it's very sad.
I always try to keep in touch with my friends that move away; and some just kind of drift out of my life.
It happens though, my mom has always told me about that: the friends you have now probably won't be around in 10 years.
Sad, but realistic.

well it actually scared me away for months, when I saw the marketplace after some time. Because OMG, everything is just so expensive now. Really. It really is like real life...you get more money? then everything shall be more expensive. [like books, gosh, i could have a book for less then 9$ before...now i need at least 20$...i hate that]
well good luck on your quest. It's already really hard to keep up with the new items, so having the old items on quest...i just decided to forget this.
Yeah, they grew out of it, mostly on my part too. One of my friend wanted to get back, but I don't know if she'll be back someday, she had really nice items too. My sister just gave me everything she had. She hadn't been on for that long, and she couldn't get a hold of zomg. [which is where i mostly get my gold] so she didn't really thought it was that cool. And her work is really demanding, but she loves what she does, so XD
But your sis, does she remember her old account's email? Because she can ask her password from there. Or she could ask an admin, maybe they could help her out with that?
If i lost this account, I don't think i'd be on gaia anymore. So i get her, if she had nice items, it's really sad to have to redo everything.
well, my high school friend, the only 3 i still kept, are now drifting away. And well life does that. Even if you don't want, it's going to happen. And my other hs friend, well i cut all connections to them. Some just were stupid, bitchy, played me, got into drugs and wouldn't be helped...so yeah. Life happens. and that's it. And my best friend's going back to France next year...so I'm sure I'll loose her too some way...
I figure I might as well try to get the items I've wanted ever since I've started Gaia; if I've loved them for this long, I must really want them. The new items are cool and all, but it makes all the avis look so different anymore. I remember when I first started getting cool items on Gaia and finally started being able to dress as well as the other addicted Gaians.
But now... I just feel old whenever I'm in threads, just because my avi is somewhat "retro". o.o;;
I think she's tried a few things, but I'll see if she has tried that. It doesn't make sense that they woudn't help her log into her old account, she got it the same time I got my old one (this one is newer than my first account, though I can't remember why I started a new one..), so you would think that they would help out someone who's been loyal to Gaia for so long. But, there's really only so much they can do, huh?
I don't know, my friend moved to another state (not exactly the same, but it's still a distance) and I started flying out there every year at least once just so I can see her. We Skype, we text, we Voxer, we chat for long hours on the phone. She's still my best friend even though we're so far away. I think as long as you had a great friendship before, the move won't do anything except put distance between you too. Good friends will always try to stay in contact with you, no matter how difficult the situation.
I think so anyway. Jut my opinion. ^.^;
