There was a pounding in his head like no other, and time had gotten away from him. With a long suffering sigh he snarled as he looked around to see what was going on. Nothing. Emptiness...no sight of his home, nor of his intended destination. That irked him, more so than his pounding head. He had been trying to get to the school.

Wait...what was he trying to get to the school for? Was it...no, it had nothing to do with his romping about with the maids...nor his want to get to know the school better. It was something else...but what? Lucien was puzzling over this when he heard voices. Angry voices. And his name. Oh yay. He scrambled as quietly as he could into the bushes nearby. Hiding he was good at, he was also great at talking his way out of almost anything, but he was in no way wanting a chat without knowing who he'd irritated.

"You lost him." a sound crack was heard as a tall shadowed figure struck a somewhat shorter figure.

"I did no such thing. He fell off the back of the bloody wagon, likely your damn dog kicked him there and the last bump rocked him right out." The shorter figure snapped back, giving what sounded like a swift kick to a shin.

"Alright, we still need to find him. Was ruddy terrible to try and convince him we could escort him to the school without too much trouble. Can't have him finding out that he's been kidnapped." The pair continued passed Lucien's hiding place.

Kidnapped? Did he really look so important that they'd...He glanced down at his attire. Yes he looked like some idiot from a rich family, so of course they'd want to kidnap him. Then a ransom the size of who knows what when they found out he was of a royal family. Inwardly Lucien scoffed, not like they'd offer much for him, he was the third born, and actually the child of a mistress. His 'mother' in name would be happy to get rid of him.

Something clicked in his head, That's right...I was headed to the school to ask for help...refuge from my... He was a third child, an unwanted son from a mistress of his father, his official 'mother' hated him with a passion because someone had told her that he could threaten her true son's ability to be the heir. Not taking into account that Lucien only wanted to play around, have the name of a royal so he wasn't worried about eating, or having the affections of those around him, like the maids. He frowned deeply, getting kidnapped on his first real adventure out without a guard, and on his way to seek asylum from a deranged mother...

His ears picked up the voices again, complaining that he must have been dragged off by the wolves. Wolves? Just what he needed. His eyes followed the figures in the late night, and he felt a chill. Something was breathing on his neck. Slowly he turned around, green eyes looking scared to death, greeted by an enormous silver eye, and an almost bottomless black eye. The sharp teeth that seemed to grin at him as the thing panted at him were far more unnerving, but he set that aside. Sitting still he wanted desperately to run, but running would get him caught. So, now he was staring down something that looked like it could snap his head off in one bite. What the hell was he supposed to do?

The thing seemed to smile more, a long red tongue slipping out from behind the teeth and licking his nose. Lucien had to grit his teeth not to scream. It had a taste and now it was going to eat him, "I'm not gonna eatcha." And now it spoke. Lucien looked at it reproachfully, still worried about being heard, "Promise."

This thing looked like some sort of mix between a blood hound, a wolf, and a bloody snake. And it apparently got it's coloration from a cow. Lucien sighed, the wagon pulling away and retreating into the distance, "So you're not going to eat me."

"Nope, You're too pretty to eat."

That was a first, but he rather liked the fact that he was too pretty too eat, "Can you help me get to the academy?"

"Sure, Sure. Got a cousin who guards a bridge near there." The thing stood up, and started walking in the direction it knew to be the way to the academy this kid spoke of.

Not sure I should trust it, but perhaps it won't end up like the last mistake.
