Before I go on, I would like to give credit to Anthropomorphic Bean Cake. She is the owner of The Literate Spam Guild. A great literate guild, might I add. Many things that I will post in this sticky are either quoted or paraphrased from her "LSG's Great Big Everything Sticky".
I could not say it any better myself, so I'd like to give Anthropomorphic Bean Cake her just desserts.

Post One: Guild Rules 1. Above all, abide by Gaian ToS and rules. Know what is acceptable and what is not. Abide by the PG-13 rule. Do not make topics or posts containing questionable content. Language in moderation is fine, but nudity and excessive violence is not. Refrain from making sexual topics or talking about illegalities such as music downloading or drugs. Any questionable posts will be deleted and possibly reported depending on their severity.
2. Respect other guild members and Gaians. Flaming is not allowed here. What is flaming? Flaming is directing rude or abusive comments at other users to create conflict. Trolling is also disallowed. Trolling is posting snide comments or purposely creating a scene just to enrage other users. If you have conflicts, we want you to solve them peacefully (and preferably on your own outside the guild) rather than resorting to petty fighting or flaming. If you really think you can't solve a conflict by yourself, PM myself or a mod and we will take action, or ban if necessary. Also, we don't want any racist or prejudice comments. I don't think I've ever seen a problem with this, but homophobia is not welcome here either.
3. Refrain from n00b bashing. N00b bashing is annoying, repetitive, and unnecessary. Sure, there's a large population of users who are annoying and can't spell. WE KNOW. Ranting about who asked you to cyber or who PMed you begging for a free Ninja Headband and how stupid they are isn't going to accomplish anything. Flaming n00bs just makes them worse and annoys everyone else.
4. Respect and listen to moderators. Our mods are here for a reason. They are here to enforce rules and make this place better for everyone. If a mod gives you a warning, it is for a good reason. Just try to accept the warning, follow the rules, and move on with your life. Moderators are meant to be treated with respect, as they help to make a better community. PLEASE do not ask to be a mod. When I appoint moderators, it is my choice. It's hectic enough as it is for me to choose new moderators in addition to dealing with "YOU MADE THEM A MOD AND NOT ME?!?!?! WHY NOT ME?!?! I AM SO OFFENDED! I AM GOING ON STRIKE TILL YOU MAKE ME A MOD!!!!1!!!" Please try to be mature about things.
5. Use literacy and grammar skills. Please try your hardest to type well using punctuation and capitalization. We discourage "tYpInG LyK DyS" and chatspeak abbreviations such as "u," "r," "ttyl," etc. We expect at least halfway decent grammar. I
6. No joking illiteracy, please. As much fun as it is to pretend to talk in chatspeak, (EG: oMg Bu7 U dYd 5t33l t3h buTTs3xx!11111!111!!!) please refrain from doing so. Though sometimes funny to some extent, it gets old fast, and most people don't really find it that humorous.
7. No advertising. What I'm saying here is that I don't want people making threads with nothing but a link in the first post and then leaving. In other words, posting a link in hopes for personal profit or gain and saying nothing else. I don't want people advertising their contests or lotteries here. It's okay to link to other places on Gaia, though I would prefer if you didn't make a thread only for that purpose. Links to other sites are allowed anywhere, as long as they are appropriate. By all means, share a funny video or image with us. It promotes discussion. I am, however, not responsible for off-site content. Please keep links clean.
8. No mindless spamming. The "spam" that we would like to see refers to randomality in discussion, not so much actual spam. By all means, talk about toothpaste or whatever nonsense you wish, but actual spam is unwanted. What am I talking about here? Bumping, 14g posts, using the same post to advertise, etc. If you are in a thread, be sure to read the first post. If I see anyone spamming, (making repetitive posts begging or advertising with absolutely no relation to the topic of discussion)) their post will be deleted and they will be warned or banned.
9. Polls, please. Please create a poll with every thread. It helps move things along. It also helps us earn gold. Even if you don't have a question to ask, you can still create a poll with song lyrics or generic options.

Post Three: Frequently Asked Questions 1. Who is in charge of the guild? I, ELF_Fire_Alchemist.exe , as captain and creator, do the majority of the work around here. I am the one who creates announcements, contests, and does most join requests. If you have questions, I would be the one to ask, although my mods will be able to answer most questions as well.
2. Who are the guild moderators? If you will look on the bottom of the guild home or on the memberlist, you will find ways to contact our moderators.
3. What are the basic requirements to join? We're not elitists. We love people of all kinds, though we do have standards. Probably the most basic requirement to join our guild is the ability to have fun. Basic grammatical knowledge is helpful, too. A few spelling errors are understandable, but we do expect a decent comprehension of homophones and such. We also expect people to be kind and respectful to others. We don't want to see any flaming. For your information, don't expect to be accepted if you have flaming, chatspeak, or Chatterbox "makeout/slave" posts in your post history.
4. What is the mule for donations to the guild? The official guild mule's name is KuramaRW35. If you would like to make a donation to The F.H.W.E.N.D., please send any trades to that username. All the gold will be used towards guild contests, giveaways, or other events. The funds on that account are completely separate from mine.
6. If there is a conflict in the guild, what should I do? If conflict arises, it is most likely just a squabble over something completely unnecessary. Usually one person making a thread about leaving the guild triggers such a conflict and causes mass pandemonium and a flood of other members to leave. If you are having a conflict from outside the guild, please do not bring it INSIDE the guild. If you are having a conflict with an individual, please take it to PMs and report to myself or a guild moderator if someone has said or done something to you against Gaian or guild ToS.
7. What if I find something against Gaian ToS in the guild? If something should come up, please immediately PM myself or a guild moderator to lock/delete/report the thread. The LSG should not have to get in trouble for the behavior of individuals, so please help keep it clean and in accordance to ToS.
8. Can The F.H.W.E.N.D. be the affiliate of my thread/guild? I would appreciate if you didn't ask. The F.H.W.E.N.D. is not looking for affiliates. However, if you would like to place a link to The F.H.W.E.N.D. in your links section, it would be appreciated.
9. Can I make an official thread in [suchandsuchforum] representing The F.H.W.E.N.D.? No. Please do not associate anything with The F.H.W.E.N.D. without my permission.
10. How do I become a guild moderator? There is no real way to become a guild moderator. I choose who I feel fit, and if you bother me about it I will be much less likely to consider you. I choose people who are positive and active in the guild that show good signs of leadership and dedication.
11. Why was/can someone get banned from The F.H.W.E.N.D.? I don't like to ban people. I never ban people due to grudges or silly personal reasons. You will be banned if you break any serious guild or Gaian rules.

Post Five: Crew Assignments From time to time, I may give certain crew members specific jobs. Otherwise, all crew's basic responsibility is to moderate the The F.H.W.E.N.D.'s forums.
If you have a special project you'd like to run, just check with me.
*There are no current special assignments.*

Post Six: Grammar Tips No one is perfect. We all make typos every once and a while, but it's important to remember the basic rules of grammar. It is a requirement to type legibly in this guild. It helps make Gaia a nicer place.
Capitalization - Every sentence begins with a capital letter. Proper nouns (names of countries, people's names etc.) also begin with a capital letter.
End punctuation - At the end of every sentence comes a period, exclamation point, or question mark. Use a period for any regular sentence. Exclamation points express strong feelings or excitement. Question marks indicate a question. Commas - Commas are most usually used to separate an appositive phrase from the rest of the sentence. For example, in the sentence "I helped my Uncle, Jack, off a horse today.", Jack is an extra part of the sentence that is not necessary for the sentence to make sense. Thus, it is separated from the rest of the sentence with a comma. Commas are used after direct addresses when you use someone's name in a sentence. (For example, "Hey, Jane, I like your shoes.") Commas are not necessary after the word because.
Apostrophes - Apostrophes are most commonly used to show possession. For example, if Sally owned a ball, it would be Sally's ball. Apostrophes are also used in conjunctions such as don't, isn't, and wasn't.
Colons - Colons are used when you are making a list of items in a sentence. Colons are also used to reveal more detail (e.g. The car was beautifully painted: it had a union jack on its roof and stripes down each side.).
Semicolons - Semicolons can be used to join two sentences together instead of using a period and capital letter or comma and conjunction. It is a stronger stop than a comma but weaker than a period. An example would be the sentence "Crabs are red; they love to scuttle along the beach."
Commonly Confused Homophones Accept - as in acceptance; to accept a gift. Except - as in exception; to make an exception.
Affect - to influence something Effect - the result of the influence
Their - shows possession of something owned by more than one person. There - used as a place, as in "over there." They're - conjunction of the words they and are.
Two - used in place of the number 2. Too - used to mean also; as well. To - used as a function word to indicate: an action ("to run"), an extent or degree of something, the direction of something or to indictate purpose.
Your - shows it relates to you and indicates possession by you. You're - conjuction for "you are".
Weather - used to describe the sky outside. Whether - as in "whether or not she's going."
Commonly Misspelled Words Love, not lurve, luv, luff, or lub. Sentence, not sentance. Tomorrow, not tomarrow, tomorow, or tommorow.

Post Seven: Avoiding/Dealing With Conflict Drama, drama, drama. Members leaving, petty arguments, any tiny thing can spark up a monumental conflict. Big deal. Happens all the time.
Some tips to avoiding drama are as follows:
If you are leaving the guild, leave peacefully. Please don't make a thread screaming about pet peeves in the guild and flaming members. This causes a world of trouble. If you are going to leave the guild, please just leave, and if you must make a thread, say goodbye nicely. Usually when one person makes a stink about leaving, it causes a huge riot and several others follow.
If you are having an argument, take it to PMs. We encourage you to resolve conflicts peacefully and privately without resorting to threats or flaming. If we see arguments breaking out in threads, we will not hesitate to have them locked.
If a problem has been dealt with, do not make threads asking about it. If we have locked threads and moved on from a conflict, the last thing we need is more threads asking about the problem. These will cause old problems to arise and trouble the guild again. If you really must know, PM a crew member.
Act normal if there is a problem. If there is a thread with a conflict, go on about your business normally. Conflicts can spread like wildfires as people create more threads. Just try to stay out of squabbles. The less people involved the better.
Leave the problems to the crew. If you see a conflict arising, don't get involved. Send a private or instant messenge to an online crew member to have them lock threads and deal with the situation.
It's not the end of the world. LSG has it's drama every now and then. The guild is not going to collapse. It is not the end of everything. Some threads will be locked, a member or two may be banned. People will move on.
