Pentatonics are one of the simplest things you could ever learn on guitar. The minor pentatonic is basically the 1, 3b, 5b, 5, 7, 8 of any given major scale. Its one note away from the blues scale, which adds a 4th: 1,3b,4,5b,7,8. For example, the C minor pentatonic scale would be C, Eb, F, F#, G, C. Heres the A minor pentatonic scale in TAB: ---------------------5-8- -----------------5-8----- -------------5-7--------- ---------5-7------------- -----5-7----------------- -5-8--------------------- And the blues scale in the same key: -------------------------5-8- ---------------------5-8----- ---------------5-7-8--------- -----------5-7--------------- -----5-6-7------------------- -5-8------------------------- Hope this helps - if not, just ask!

Thi sstuff should really be posted in the Lessons area (I'f you'd like, Solsthiem, you could post some stuff there), but for now I'll give you the A Major Penta (I really do mean Major this time xD) in tab. I'll let you figure out what the relative notes are (as in like the blues scale is the 1st, flatted third, fourth, etc) on your own, as sort of an exercise... Here it is: A Major Pentatonic Scale ---------------------5-7- -----------------5-7----- -------------4-6--------- ---------4-7------------- -----4-7----------------- -5-7---------------------
"5" on the sixth string is the root (A), as well as the 4th fret of the 4th string, and the 5th fret of the first string. From there you can figure out the rest of the tones if you like. The major penta is something i rarely use, but should really get to know... xD

I'll put it this way...ive been sitting on my bed for tha past couple years jamming out with tabs, and friends and such...i havent taken the time to learn E. Eb, F# that kinda stuff, so there fore maybe im looking for someone who might want to take some time to actually teach me some stuff about these scales and such...>.>;
