Currently accepting new wolves.  Long before any of the current members were even pups, Redwood's great-grandfather, Hardwood, and his mate, Gentle Breeze, were lone wolves, traveling their known world in search of a home to call their own. Pack after pack they grew more and more discouraged as the years grew to feel longer and harsher as time passed. Soon the pair had little hope that their peaceful existence would be impossible to achieve with the ruthless and violent packs all around them. It was only after his mate was attacked by a rival male who sought her for himself that Redwood's father finally came to the realization that joining a pack would merely tear the two apart rather than bring them closer together.
It was that realization that caused the two to change their dream. Instead of joining a pack, they sought out a place to call their home and protect their own. Days turned to weeks and weeks grew into months. Soon enough months turned to years and both were growing on in their age and with both having taken a vow of celibacy until they reached their packlands, they worried their lines would end with the two of them.
It was on a dark, cold, storming night. The pair stumbled through forested hills, hungry and tired. They lost their path and knew not where they were but none of that mattered while they tried to keep themselves alive. It was by pure luck that the pair managed to take refuge in what would become the pack's den. Only in morning, after the storm had died down, did they stand in awe of the beautiful lands before them. It was fertile and full of game trails. Even a personal water source along with a area to watch the small water as well.
This place was perfect.

  The Tall Trees pack resides in an area of the Kells Forest. Nestled between a few small hills lay a shallow portion of the Kells Run river that had trickled off into their lands. Overlooking them from the top of the highest of the few hills is a flat rock that could easily fit several wolves. There mothers watch over their pups as they splash within the cool stream. When not occupied by the motherly wolves of the pack, this hard surface is used as a council area for the alphas, their shaman and the betas of the pack as well as any others they seek the opinion of. Rare is the latter of the two things this rock is meant for actually used.
Not far from there resides the tallest tree in their territory. Underneath it is the den for the pack. No one member has any special area, though the alphas are usually towards the middle, with pups in the back and the lowest ranks members either near the entrance of even on rare occasions outside in the case of some omegas.
A constant effect on their land is a mist that covers most of it though it seems to be at its thickest towards the borders and a little beyond. Around the actual den area, there is only a thin veil if even that. This aids the pack in confusing prey to hunt as well as keeping outsiders exactly that; out. Many of the pack members have developed techniques of appearing ghost-like such as stepping lighter, covering themselves in rare white pelts from prey. Twins have been known to play horrible tricks on trespassers by using their identical looks to confuse them. Some have even been so lucky as to be born with pale pelts. To outsiders the pack has become something of a myth as they believe the area is inhabited by ghosts of passed wolves.

A self-explanatory rank, the alphas are the lead pair of the pack. As leaders, they expect the respect and loyalty of all their pack's members as in order to survive in their harsh world, despite the cover of mist, they need it. The rank will transfer to the designated son of the pair or to the closest male relative in the absence of a male heir. He and his mate will ascend to the rank of alpha while the female alpha will join the ranks of the elders of the pack. This rank can be challenged by any wolf, both in and out of the pack but none have ever done so as there has been a reason to. To date, all the alphas have been kind and just leaders.

Beta
The betas of the pack are essentially the second-in-commands behind their two alphas. They are to be looked to guidance and usually lead the hunts while their male alpha is off patrolling the borders and the female is tending to the pups with the other females. They are also members of the council should the need arise. Typically there are only two betas within the pack at any given time and usually they are mates. While it is not usual, there can be more than two betas within the pack.

Shaman
The pack's shaman is nearly always a seer, but for the pack's first shaman Haitah, a non-seer but a wolf that has grown good at reading the stars and understanding dream and the properties of herbs has taken up the mantle as Shaman. They are looked to for guidance in everyday events, such as when a good time to hunt may be or if a litter will be healthy. With such responsibility, they are often revered and treated with a great deal of respect within the pack. The shaman and his or hers apprentice(s) live under an older tree near the pack den that has been decorated with feathers, beads, pelts, gems and whatever else they believe to connect them better with the earth beneath them. There is only one shaman at a time. They also offer their council to the alphas should they ask for it.
Current Shaman: Haitah
  Redwood: One of the alphas of the pack, Redwood has always been a kind, just leader for what he considers his family while he strives to always be a sort of father figure to those that need it and a grandfather for many others. His reign has been a prosperous one though not without his own tragedies as his sister was slain out of revenge by a rival male seeking to overthrow him and take the pack and all of its females for himself. Still grieving for the loss of his sister, Redwood's old age has started to show through his tough, almost kingly exterior.
Sparrow Song: Blah blah blah.
Vale: Mate to Swift River and father of three, Vale is the only surviving pup from Redwood's sister, Rosewood. Vale has always considered his uncle almost as a father. He is a council for his alpha and a guiding point for his pack. Most consider him to be the best candidate for becoming the next alpha should Redwood die before producing a litter.

Rift: Blah blah blah.
Swift Sight: The only seer within the pack, this young lady is destined to take the role as the pack's shaman once she comes of age. For now, she is learning what she can of her gift from those who know of it.
