He nodded, "Me too and I can't wait to see my family again" he said not really sure how they would react to his changed demenor from the Hunger Games. Golden eyes flashed with uncertainty and he looked more nervous, "I'll be happy to be home and return to my job as ranch hand" he said softly.

"That's not what I do."

How I am feeling: haunted by those killed and died in the Hunger Games.

Caesar nodded. "Now can you tell us what you told your faamily before the Games?" He saw the crowd lean forwards slightly, which was exactly what Caesar himself was doing.

Edward looked at him not really like being on tv but he tolerated it, "I told them I would return home to them and well I'm here talking to you." he said facing the audience still nervous and emotionally upset from the loss of Sage and having to kill teenagers his age. "I also told my younger brother Alex that I would come back and that I would teach him everything I know about ranching." Golden eyes filled with anguish and sadness and he looked away from Caesar haunted by the faces of those he had killed and Sage who had died in his arms.

"That's not what I do."

Caesar listened attentively. " And home you'll be. I'm glad you could keep your promise," he said honestly. The room was extremely quiet. He could dimly hear a quiet sob, and so he continued. "And can you tell us about Sage? It was very brave what you both did."

He nodded quietly, "Me too" he said in a soft voice. "She made me a beautiful bow and some arrows." he went on to say, "and she pulled me to safety after being bitten by snake only to be bitten herself." Edward smiled at the memory of them sitting together enjoying their dinner together up in their tree. "Sage was so kind and she treated our bites with a plant that drew the poison from our wounds even I was so out of it" he said, "She died in my arms after the district 2 boy had hit her with a throwing knife." After he had said what had happened, he couldn't hold back the silent tears that now ran down his cheeks.

Caesar listened sorrowfully. The whole audience was frozen, tears streaming down many of their faces. What he had said at the end had pushed most of them into somber remembrance. "I am very sorry for your loss." There was a moment when it seemed the Universe was completely silent, and then Caesar bade the boy goodbye. "Edward, Congratulations for your Victory. We all send our thoughts out to your family as well as those of the Tribute's. Thank you." He could tell the boy did not want to talk more. He would let him go home and see his family, at last.

Edward sniffed and wiped his tears silently as he got up, "Thank you" he said softly to him and shook Caesar's hand politely. He walked off stage as the audience clapped for him and his victory in the hunger games. Edward walked off stage and he broke down which was very unusal for him but what he went through changed him.
