Here is a key that will help you decipher the descriptions:

Red = love
Pink = friendship
Black = dislike hatred

Love Meter - this meter measures physical attraction and romantic feelings for other characters. Remember that it is very possible to be attracted to, or have romantic feelings for a person you actually dislike or hate! Just because you think a person is good looking, doesn't mean you want to be their friend. The more red hearts, the stronger the romantic feelings!

Friendship Meter - this meter measures whether or person is liked or disliked in a non-romantic way. Pink hearts stand for friendship and positive feelings while black hearts measure dislike and negative emotions. This is something of a gauge of how well two characters get along. The more pink hearts, the stronger the friendship is. The more black hearts, the stronger the rift between the two characters.

Penelope: Okay, I just met Penelope but she is so adorable! Like, first of all, she's really taller--taller than me, I think. Which is really cool because I don't meet a whole lot of girls actually taller than me and she's also really shy and stumbles over her words a lot. She seems really self conscious, which there's no reason for her to be because she's actually quite pretty and seems really sweet. I'm really thrilled she's going to be my roommate so I can get to know her better, but also because it's always nice to have a roommate you get along with and I really think we'll get on great!

Izzy: Izzy is really a sweet guy. I mean, sort of, you know...well, he's a typical teenaged guy if you know what I mean. All hormones and staring at a girl's chest. Which, I don't really mind because that's kind of normal for adolescents and all that but it would be nice if he'd pay a little more attention to what I say. Then again, I do tend to ramble a bit so it's probably also natural to tune out after a while.
