"...N-no, Susan! Don't cry! I... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have... I mean I didn't..." Penelope leaned further forward and grabbed Susan's hands, her voice jumping an octave in her panic. "Please don't cry!" It really was stupid of her to think that she would be able to deal with this situation better as a girl. No matter what, male or female, she was still a nervous softie. She had to congratulate herself though. The last thing she had wanted to do was upset Susan, and she had succeeded gracefully. Of course, what had she expected to happen, really? When she thought about it, most of the time, in fact all of the time she had spent with Susan up to just recently had been when she was a girl. She should have known that switching would only make things easier on herself...
"Sorry." She repeated. "I'm... I'm stupid. I should have just... The last thing I wanted was to... er... I... I'm willing to try." She said determinedly. "Decided just now. If... Well, I mean if you want to... As long as you get it, which ah, which you certainly... certainly seem to. I'll just... try to stay a boy, and when I'm not... er... I'll just think of us as REALLY close friends... yeah..."
Had she jumped the gun? Neither of them had actually ever said that they wanted to get into a relationship with the other. It had all just sort of been implied over the course of the conversation (albeit the implications were fairly blunt and really sort of obvious.) Still, as she was the man (the ridiculousness of that statement notwithstanding) traditionally it was up to her to make the first move right?

Damn. Susan was angry with herself for letting herself cry. Susan felt Penelope's hands on hers. She didn't know what she was suppose to do. She left her hands in the grip of Penelope's.
Susan thought there was no chance of anything happening between the two of them. She listened to Penelope, her ears flicked up a little. She didn't know how to react. Penelope was willing to try? "..You are?" Susan asked felt her face go hot, she was pink now. Her eyes were no longer teary.
But what was to happen now? Would Penelope try to change into a boy again, or wait until it happens?

Well, Susan's response had quelled any of Penelope's fears about assuming too much. "Um... yeah." She said, resisting the urge to drop Susan's hands and lean back from the awkwardness. "I mean, as your friend, I want you to be happy and ah, and... date, someone who makes you happy... a-and will treat you right, and won't hurt you, and stuff. And if you think that person is me... well, the ah, the other me, I mean, we're both me but... If you think I'm him, then... As your friend, It's nice to know you'll be with someone who cares about you." She blushed. "Because I care about you... a-as your friend right now, but when I'm a boy..."
She shook her head and chuckled. "I just don't get why you would even want to try Susan." She said, releasing her friend's hands and sitting up in her chair. "This whole thing confuses me, and I'm the one it happens to... I mean, right now? I'm not even gonna be able to change back into Percy unless I look some guy in the eyes, and that's not exactly the sort of thing that I'm willing to do to some random person in a teahouse you know? I won't... be him again... for a while I don't think. Not to mention the odd crush or two I seem to have... So you'll be stuck with me, until who knows when, and, a-and."
The waitress blinked. Hadn't there been... a boy and a girl at this table before? She dismissed the thought and smiled. It had been a long day. She certainly wasn't about to lose any more of her long gone energy thinking about it. "Everything alright here?" She asked politely. "Anyone need a refill?" "...Actually, I think I'm good on tea, thanks." Penelope said stiffly.

There were emotions of happiness, but Susan was also very confused. She listened to Penelope's quiver. Her ears fell down slightly when Penelope dropped her hands and sat back and spoke again. Susan looked at her friend. She wasn't going to let herself get upset about this. It just wasn't going to happen. Not this time. Susan listened to Penelope's concerns. Of course Susan wanted to try. It would be complicated, but it was worth a try right?
Before Susan could open her mouth to speak again there was a waitress standing at the table. Susan cautiously put her hands in her lap again and looked at the waitress as she spoke. "..No thanks" she said quietly and smiled at the waitress lightly.
Well, this was awkward. Susan waited for the waitress to leave before speaking again. When she left Susan looked at Penelope again. "..I-I mean.. w-we dont.. I mean, we dont need to..." she said and wasn't sure why.
Susan hoped that this little situation wasn't going to make their friendship awkward. She didn't want her feelings to get in the way of their friendship. That would be awful. "... Of course I.. I want to try... b-but.. I-If you dont.." she said then mumbled "Rikai shite kudasai*". She looked at the surface of the table, observing ever imperfection on the surface.

Penelope blinked. Susan had just said something in Japanese. She watched more than enough anime to know that it was definitely japanese, and that the last word meant something along the lines of... please, or... if you would? Some sort of form of mild imploring. But for the most part, she had absolutely no idea what she had just said.
"Er... I just said I wanted to." She said, still slightly thrown. "To try I mean..." she looked away, turning slightly pink again. "And well... If you want to try, and er... I want to try then... Then I guess we're in agreement right?"
She fiddled with her empty teacup. "So... What happens now? I mean... not really experienced with this... sorta stuff. I mean, I had a g... a ah, girlfriend once, but that didn't really... last very long... long story really. Do we... I mean, gonna have to wait and all, cause it would be sort of weird now... I mean, sort of... but do you... maybe, I don't know... want to... go to a movie sometime or something?"

"Agreement, yes. That sounds good" Susan said, a tone of joy was in her voice. Her ears were sitting normally again.
Penelope had a point. What did happen now. Susan put her right index finger on her chin, cuing her thinking face. She looked at Penelope suggesting a movie. "Movies are always fun. What genre do you like? Action, sci-fi, fantasy? I like comedy, romance, sci-fi and action" Susan said nodding her head. "Will we go when you are Percy again?" she asked curiously, she was happy. But more importantly, she was happy that their friendship wasn't ruined. wearing

Penelope smiled at Susan halfheartedly. She was glad to see how happy her friend was with how things turned out but... saying there were conflicting feelings in her mind would be a mild understatement. On one hand, she was nervous, and excited. Or rather, she understood that she would be nervous and excited and most probably very deeply smitten with Susan once she changed back into a boy. On the other hand... she was sort of creeped out. She had just asked a girl out on a date. Certainly would have been a little less weird if she wasn't currently a girl herself. Her mind currently only saw Susan as a good friend... a good friend who was into her. It almost made her want to shudder.
On the other OTHER hand (assuming she hypothetically had three hands and by extension, three arms.) As Susan was a good friend, she was excited that she had managed to "grab a man", or whatever it was she was supposed to call it. It was a little odd that the man in question was the other version of herself... though technically it was both versions. She was just thinking of it this way to keep herself calm.
And mildly confused apparently.
"Ah... I don't really... I don't really know." She admitted. "I don't actually go to the movies very often. I just thought that was... you know, the sort of thing people do when they go on da-..." she swallowed, finding the word difficult to say. "Wh-hen they go... out. A-and I mean its probably better... if ah, if we wait until I manage to... to switch back. I mean, it'll probably be ah... more enjoyable for .. both of us."

As Penelope spoke, Susan nodded "I guess that seems fair enough. I prefer books over movies, but movies are good too" she admitted. Susan fiddled with her tea cup and suddenly wished that she had gotten more tea.
This whole dating thing seemed like a good idea. Susan smiled and didn't know what to say. wearing

Penelope sighed. She had certainly picked a keeper hadn't she? Quiet, calm, unabrasive. As much as it wierded her out to admit it, they were a pretty good match. Or... were opposites supposed to attract? She didn't really hold to either theory. "I'm more of a book person too... So... why don't we meet up at the Library, or the bookstore or something? Sometime soon I mean, instead of the theater. Then we could... I dunno... Hang out there? I mean... yeah. How does that sound?" [[I think we're pretty much done with this scene. sweatdrop go ahead and pick a spot to meet, and we can continue there if you like, seeing as it's time for the time skip anyways.]]

Ooo. The library. Susan nodded. The library was fun, so was the book store. "That sounds great, the library is always fun. But then again, the book store has the cafe"
Susan got out her wallet. "I can pay, if you want" she stated and opened up her wallet to check how much money she had.
(( Yeah, it seems pretty much over. I am flooded with assignments at the moment, so I wont be on so much these coming 3 weeks. But we can definitely set a scene up after that, yeah? )) wearing

Penelope blushed again. She had been doing that a lot today, with good reason of course. "A-ah no. You don't have to do that. I can pay for myself thanks. Things were already weird enough with the whole situation without having her tea paid for by her "girlfriend" , and she wasn't about to make things any more uncomfortable for herself.
"Um... so... the bookstore then? I'll um... yeah. We can meet up there sometime soon and... I don't know... hang out? Yeah." She looked to her empty teacup, fairly unsure of what to say next. Maybe... she should just go? She didn't know if Susan still wanted to hang out, or go do something else, or if she would be anxious to see Percy. She didn't want to cut things short, but she couldn't help feeling awkward about the whole situation. She was still trying very hard to not think about the fact that she had said she would go out with a girl... even if it was Susan.
"Er... so if that sounds good, I think I'm gonna... gonna go soon." She scratched an itch on her forearm. I mean, unless you want to go do something or... something... and I'll see you at the bookstore... tommorow?"

"Oh yep, thats fine" Susan said smiled at Penelope and closed her wallet.
Thankfully, they weren't too awkward, Susan was relieved. "Bookstore, yeah" she said and tapped her fingers on the table. "Oh yeah, I was going to head off. Head back to the dorm. Cat nap" Susan said and laughed.
"Tomorrow sounds good.. See you then" Susan said and stood up and tapped Penelope on her right shoulder "Bye" she said and waved and headed out the door after paying the lady at the counter.
