oh dear 0_o...I wonder why he killed himself
As much as I respect his early works, his skills as a profitable mainstream writer ended years ago. No one would talk to him, so his career as a political writer died after his pieces on Nixon, Carter and other major political figures.
His later books were not big sellers and his energy had been severly drained by several problems in his private life. In a sad way, this was most likely the best way out for his wildly accelerated and dangerously warped life.
Remember him at his zenith as Dr. Gonzo, running scams in old Las Vegas when you could get away with behaving like that. I know I will.
