We all have a Facebook or know someone that does. I found this pic and thought that I would do a repost and see what everyone says about it. Your thoughts?

Subliminal Aftermath Ah cool, can you explain why though? I'm just curious. Sure. Respect tends to be one of those words people really like to abuse, like raciest and phobia. It is often used as if all people and ideas are equal, therefor all deserve you respect. lets look at this example: Person one disciplines her five year old child by spanking them. Person two disciplines her five year old child by smacking them in the face. Is the way you discipline your child all come down to personal preference or do you see one as better? If you do see one as inherently/logically better, then why should the lesser option deserve your respect? The way I see it, why is there a need to man-handling a five year old child? Though, I'm sure someone will say, "Your supposed to hit them where no one can see." Point is, I don't really see why one needs to respect another persons choices or even why one has to respect a person for the choices they made by simply making them.

Actually... anyone telling me anyone of those things, I've come to take with a grain of salt. Now, if they're following me around... in which case I start making corners near every video camera in sight... harasing me and such... then it's another matter entirely.
As a heathen, I find it's most interesting to catch them off guard by going to their church and paying them an honest visit.
Although... that did backfire once.
Oh yeah, I suddenly recall the time they pinned me down and were telling me to accept Christ... and if I didn't, I was going to go to hell, and this and that. They were quite serious. And then the cops showed up. I was like, finally! Oh, but then I was like, fudge. The cops told me they were "members of this here good church", and that if I didn't do what was right, things might get worse than I could imagine. Reasonable freaful for what might have happened after that, I just rolled with until I got out of there. I got a pleasant reminder that it was for my own good, and that if the devil started to suggest I tell anyone about it, to think twice about my own future.
Those were some scary people, I tell ya.

When I didn't believe I felt the same way. I couldn't stand anyone talking about God or Jesus, and I had no interest in hearing anyone out. This hostility to hearing the truth comes from being blinded to it by the god of the world. Of course no one wants to hear they are wrong, but me not telling you doesn't make it any less true. It only makes me guilty in the sin of omission. By not warning you I have your blood on my hands. If I don't go the extra mile, and stretch out my hand to reach you what am I?
It only seems like ignorance to those who doesn't believe because they, and most of the world reject the truth.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Bible does not teach tyranny, bigotry or hatred, but loving your fellow man. Sometimes that means that we will have to endure your anger, and your hatred telling you about God. It may upset you what I have to say, but it is not said because I hate you. It is not because I feel better than you, but because I have experienced the change believing in Jesus can do. If I hadn't it would not be important to me telling you about it. I know that more then likely you will not want to listen, but I will still try. I know you don't respect me, but I will still try.
God doesn't want you to be brainwashed. He wants to change your heart, and your perspective. Make you a new creation in Christ. No one gets into heaven by being brainwashed, but by being born again. smile

That just touched the very edge of being a calm matter to controversial and very conflicted. I love it so much, its individuality, it's something you don't hear often.

Well, I guess I sort of agree with the overall sentiment. Nobody has to respect anything about me (or anyone else) for any reason.
Respect is generally earned, so it's no small wonder that one would have trouble respecting someone who told them they were evil and going to hell.
I see this picture more as an attack against rude people, not Christians.

I agree with what's being said in the picture-- at least the top part. So many Christians want atheists to respect their beliefs when they themselves don't respect the beliefs of the atheists. Respect goes two ways-- I think that's what this pic is trying to get at.
The problem is the part where it says "I don't respect your religion". The problem with having so many disrespectful Christians out there is that the religion gets a bad reputation for being that way. I understand that you don't have to respect someone if they don't show you proper respect, but that goes for people, not the religion as a whole-- just because you don't respect those groups of rude Christians doesn't mean that you should generalize all Christians as such and advertise your disrespect for the religion as a whole.

Those were some scary people, I tell ya. on an unrelated note to this thread, I am so sorry that happened to you. That church has obviously missed everything about Jesus' teachings. -hugs- I assure you that the crew and I do not tolerate such behavior here in 4:12. On a related note. I pretty much agree with the over all sentiment here. There are a lot of people i don't respect the decisions they have made. I respect them as a person, but their choices I see as questionable. However, as a human, who are we to truly judge what is right and wrong? Everything is a matter of perspective. Say you and I are eating at a diner. In your mind, it is justified for you to take one of my fries. Well in my mind, it is justified if i kill you for stealing my fry. Perception is tricky, and is something we should keep in mind. It is not our place to judge, though our opinions are ours to hold.

I feels sorry for the person who made that graphic; they have no idea what Jesus/God/Christianity is about. They should read the Bible. They're missing out.
