And no, I don't mean anuses. Something you'll learn about me is that when I say something that can be used as an insult, I mean it as an insult. If I mean anuses I would say "poop dispenser" or something silly like that.

So, anyway. Here's the situation.

A COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS USER who MAY OR MAY NOT BE WRITING THIS POST was recently the subject of some severe assholery. I joined a Pokémon RolePlay who had a reputation of being a bit strict about the way things were done. Well, I'm not an idiot, I read the rules, and the entire thing looked incredibly fun to roleplay in.

They nitpicked my profile for three days. "Change this word in the table to that word." "Erase these parentheses." "Move the character's image under their personal information instead of over."

As you can imagine, I got out of this three day escapade feeling ready to burn all creation to ash and dance in the remains of society a little homicidal. But hey! My profile had finally been accepted! I was so excited!

I wrote my introductory topic. It was pretty good, if I do say so myself. Introduce the character and his Pokémon, explain how they got where they were, have them do some menial actions, and then leave off at a place for the moderator to pick it up. Oh, and since I was so excited, I went batshit crazy and wrote 1500 words easily.

This was my mistake. Prepare for facepalming:

I created a brief description of an NPC for my character to interact with, modeled off of a really annoying one from the games called Youngster Joey. I thought it was funny.

I posted the topic and left it there overnight. When I returned the next morning, I found that it had vanished. I went into the chatbox and asked if anyone knew what happened to it.

The site owner tells me he deleted the entire topic because I had "spawned an NPC." Now, if this was truly against the rules, I would been a little upset at what was, to me, a very extreme punishment for a very minor infraction that could have easily been edited out. But I'd heard the site owner had a habit of being, well, a flaming bag of smashed assholes, so I went back and double-checked the entire, multi-thousand word rules.

Not once did it mention "no spawning NPCs" or even anything that could be interpreted to that effect.

So this guy deleted my entire topic over a minute infraction on a rule that didn't even exist that could have been edited out of the post.

So. Why? My theory is homologous to the conclusion of the Stanford Prison Experiment. This crazy a*****e was given authority. I don't know how he is in real life, but the mask of anonymity coupled with his authority to change the site made him abuse that authority by inflicting harsh punishments for no better reason then he could.

You might think I'm making up stories about this guy because I'm mad at him. Let me go get the entire chat.

Read from the bottom up. The bolded message was the one that put me into homocidal mode.

Supersane101: You got some writing time and experience out of it, be happy.

4 Aug 12, 12:24 AM
Supersane101: Dude, half an hour. Big deal

4 Aug 12, 12:23 AM
Tsuki: No, being nice would be being sensible about something instead deleting an entire half hour of my life over a minute infringement on a non-existant rule.

4 Aug 12, 12:23 AM
Supersane101: Anybody can tell you that I am being so tame that it's scary.

4 Aug 12, 12:22 AM
Supersane101: See that's funny, this is me actually being nice to you.

4 Aug 12, 12:22 AM
Supersane101: The fact that I don't care if you quit the site over this also doesn't give you much leeway in this converation

4 Aug 12, 12:22 AM
Tsuki: I just don't see why you're such an a*****e to people who are just trying to have fun on your site.

4 Aug 12, 12:22 AM
Supersane101: Though life yes, though site management, it's fine

4 Aug 12, 12:21 AM
Tsuki: That's an incredibly irrational way to go through life.

4 Aug 12, 12:21 AM
Supersane101: Look kid, there is no way you can beat me in this argument because if I want, "Because I said so." is a perfectly acceptable answer here.

4 Aug 12, 12:21 AM
Tsuki: Human beings exist in real life. Again, it wouldn't have been any trouble at all to ask me to remove that part. I'm not an idiot. I honestly didn't know that.

4 Aug 12, 12:20 AM
Supersane101: You controlled the world by spawning another human being

4 Aug 12, 12:20 AM
Tsuki: Seeing as I never controlled the character, that's irrelevant too.

4 Aug 12, 12:20 AM
Supersane101: And again, you can control your character and your Pokemon. Nothing else.

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Supersane101: Who's in charge here?

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Tsuki: It's not even a rule.

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Supersane101: It drives the point in

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Supersane101: It is common for topic deletion upon rule breaking

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Tsuki: But that's irrelevant. You deleted an entire post over something that you could have asked me to remove.

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Supersane101: We already have Youngster Joey as an NPC

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Supersane101: If you were able to create people in real life then I would make an exception, but sadly, if I can't do it then you totally can't

4 Aug 12, 12:19 AM
Tsuki: So that the moderator would be saved the trouble? To create a quirky character or allusion to a real-life NPC?

4 Aug 12, 12:18 AM
Supersane101: You're not a god, you can't spawn or create ANYTHING

4 Aug 12, 12:18 AM
Supersane101: Dude, why the hell would you be allowed to spawn NPCs in the first place?

4 Aug 12, 12:18 AM
ryjsb: Thanks, Sane.

4 Aug 12, 12:18 AM
Tsuki: about the NPC?

4 Aug 12, 12:18 AM
Tsuki: Okay, where in the rules does it say not to spawn NPCs? On top of that, your solution to the problem is to immediately delete the entire 5-6 paragraph post instead of editing out that 3 sentences

So yeah. Thoughts?
