Ruins of the Old
"A painful reminded of tragedy..."
___About:
An older area on the furthest part of Soul Society that have yet to be repaired. They are said to be the left over ruins of the 2nd war between the Soul Reapers and Quincy. Within this area there's nothing left but old buildings falling apart and rubble scattered all about the ground. There are a few walls that still stand. But what the quincy have left behind is still here....ruins....nothing but damn ruins full of victory, defeat, sorrow, anger, shame, and more....

Virgo Angelus___ The Angelic Guardian___  Noon. A fitting time of day. It was a time of day when one felt most at ease. The sun shined it's rays upon the land, lighting it up in colours. But no matter how high the sun rose or how brightly it shined it could never rid a single area of it's darkness. The air was still, a sign of emptiness. Dust layered the earth while rubble filled it's cracks, a work of chaos. Memories forgotten but still memories remained, it was a true horror one could never erase from their memory. It was a hole in ones heart. Before a lingering soul lay within the ruins of a once great land. Before his time buildings stood tall and proud, but in present lay broken and sad. The tale once told but never witnessed. A single youth sat atop a piece of large rubble, perhaps at one time it was part of a wall, with such destruction one could not be so sure. Silence filled the sill sky. Piercing hues of swirling Oranges and Reds looked upon the ruins, the sign of no emotion present. Blank. All the youth could muster was a blank feeling as he stared at the scene before him. Was his heart so cold that he could not even feel a hint of sadness? The lives lost... The sorrow. But no nothing. Everything remained as it was and this youth would not cry over spilled milk.
Rather this youth had a goal. A true goal in mind. He would bring life back to this lifeless ruin and once again carve it in battle. Virgo, the youth in waiting had ushered a Challenge. It was a grand challenge indeed. Virgo was determined, he would measure his strengths but the only way to be truly sure was to take on the best. When it came to the best in Serietei, there was only one, the Captain-Commander. Yes! Virgo had requested a duel with the Captain-Commander. Gutsy and perhaps to many stupid.. But Virgo was a member of the Eleventh Division, it was go big or die. Having not received a direct answer Virgo was forced into waiting. He had been sitting for nearly an hour already, but he would continue to wait for as long as it took. He would have his battle, he would test his strength.

Izuma arrived on the scene of the ruins of the old in shunpo and seemed to have a gentle smile on his face. There was no direct eye contact with the Division vice-captain. Izuma only looked off to the distance with his usually gentle look in his face. There was a few minutes maybe ten [10] at the most with no talking only silence and there seemed to be tense in the air as the silence lasted.
However this was broken when Izuma finally asked an important question, one that even he was wondering about. "Not to seem to rude, knowing that I'm a bit late....but do you have any idea what you're getting yourself into?" he asked as he seemed to be rather worried as he was now looking over at the 11th Division Lt. Izuma than went on, "I do apologize for being late, I had to finish paperwork..." he said as his smile faded to a straight face. He also seemed to have a slight change in moods, he wanted to know the answer to his question more than anything. To challenge the Head Captain to a battle some would see as insane, but Izuma wanted to fully know his own personal reason. Though, he knows all to well of 11th Division members wanting to make it big and always fighting despite live and limbs. He knows all to well from the old captain Kenpachi.
As Izuma waited for an answer you could see his face going from a gentle look to one that is getting distance and cold. As if he was ready to strike at any given moment. His eyes just seemed to suck you into his gaze as he looked at you, it was as if the area was getting tenser and tenser.

Virgo Angelus___ The Angelic Guardian___ Silence, it always seemed to follow Virgo. Perhaps because he didn't often speak everyone and everything followed suit. Even the Captain-Commander fell into the rhythm. Minutes to seconds passed in a fairly deafening pause. Virgo just stared to the rubble, his eyes never shifting to see the arrival of Izuma. He did not need his eyes to confirm the man was there, the Commander was loud enough. Was Virgo sure about what he was doing? Sure the Eleventh Division had a reputation of being muscle heads who only think their their swords, but Virgo was not one such person. He was one who calculated his actions, he was aware of consequence. Sometimes one just had to do what one had to do and as such time this was something Virgo more then anything wanted to do. Mentally stated and well put, but the Commander would hear no such thing. Instead he would receive a narrow eyed stare and an emotionless fall through. It was enough to say, 'I do.' In Virgo speechlessness.
Kicking up his foot, a small pebble forced into the air before Virgo. With a quick snatch Virgo grabbed the pebble midair. Standing up he turned the full length of his body to stare down the Commander completely. Standing before the Grand-Man, Virgo through the pebble into the air. An action to which spoke a thousand words in his place. The second the pebble would hit the ground Virgo would begin his strike with the participation of Izuma, or not. The Challenge was final. Virgo was for the last time sure of his actions. In hind sight the pebble began it's descend, the small stone meeting Virgo's eye line, the sight readying him. With his hand wrapped around the hilt of his blade he'd be ready to draw. Click, the pebble bounced. In a swift motion, whether Izuma was prepared or not, Virgo unsheathed his blade, but not released, and striked. With a swift over head swing, he aimed his blade towards the Commanders shoulder, he would get his fight.

Izuma to watched the motions of Virgo and saw what he did with the pebble. It was not a second later that Virgo already has the captain within range. However Izuma did not lose track of the Vice-captain for a second, he simple shifted his eyes at the blade speaking only one single word. "Pity...." Just before pushing backwards and shunpo'ed to avoid the blade. As he landed several yards back he noticed a cut in his captains robe, uniform, and minor cut to his skin. "My I forgot your a Zanjutsu master..." he said as he drew his blade and looked at the Vice-captain for a few seconds.
Then suddenly with a sudden burst Izuma pushed forwards with enough force that debris was knocked backwards from off the ground. Izuma's eyes made contact with the Vice-captains as he was now within strike range, it wasn't almost literally in the blink of an eyes. "I accept your challenge!" Izuma shouted as he slashed his blade downward at an angle attempting to slash across and ate Virgo's torso. He wanted to see just how skilled this Vice-captain was when it came to Zanjutsu combat. Not only that, he wanted to show him that he was not the captain commander just for show. His skills area almost without a match when it comes to combat.

Virgo Angelus___ The Angelic Guardian___ With the speedy evasion of the Commander, dust and small debris flushed at the force, it draining sight from Virgo as it floated around him. With his free hand he swiped to clear the dust from his sight. It seemed Virgo had hit more then just the Commander. Internally he smiled, externally he kept cold and distant. With his line of vision cleared Virgo looked off to the distance where the Commander rested, his blade now drawn. It was a Challenge Virgo asked for and that fact that he was getting one made butterflies jump inside his stomach. It was exciting! More, Virgo wanted more, he'd leave his mark, and it would be a mark to never be forgotten. With collected eyes Virgo raised up his blade, the tip of his Zanpakuto pointed directly at the Commander, 'Come at me' the action spoke. To which shortly after was answered.
It was fast, much faster then Virgo could keep up with, even with his well trained vision. When it came to seeing motion, Virgo was quite skilled. But not even his eyes could follow the complete movements of the Commander, but then where would the fun be if it wasn't a challenge. Virgo did after all want the best. With his blade still raised Virgo motioned to pull his arm back as if to thrust it forward, but instead waited for the point of impact. With the shine of the opponents blade, Virgo shifted his gaze, his feet moving to meet a ready position, it was not a time to strike but defend. Twisting his body, Virgo pointed his blade downward, still holding it up, defending from the strike. With his feet placed firmly he was kept from falling over but not from being pushed back. The force was far greater then expected on Virgo's part but he would not be outed by something so trivial. Regaining poise, Virgo shifted his stance and pushed himself forward, his blade dragged across the ground, dust vacuumed into the air. To return the favour Virgo slashed at the Commander's feet, his blade following with an upper-cut.

Izuma noticed that well protected defense of the Vice-captain. But there was not time to compliment such skills, for there was already a counter heading at him. With little time he decided to turn up the heat a bit. Izuma smiled as he quickly did a tap and touch. He quickly pushed backwards again and swiped his blade downward to deflect as he retreated. But once again Izuma was back and a rather annoying thing to notice. However he did not let it get to him at all. He quickly took a stand with his blade in a Kendo position. "My turn..." he said as he shot forward again.
Upon getting into range Izuma began a burst of quickly thrust and slashes. This burst following the same pattern: down, up, left, right, and end with a thrust. Anyone would notice that it was the basic of the Kendo form, however he wanted to know if the Vice-captain would remember the basic, because some forget that even the simplest of attacks can beat the strongest at times.

Virgo Angelus___ The Angelic Guardian___ Virgo's counter had been in itself countered. He had to hand it to the Captain-Commander, certainly kept things interesting. But no matter Virgo himself would not back down or regret his actions. He would give it his all as he always did. Watching the Commander's move, Virgo's expression never faltering from it's voided expression, he began to formulate a plan to oppose his up coming strike. As the Commander came at him, Virgo for once in this entire meeting or in fact for all existence, SMILED. That itself was enough to knock anyone off balance, especially since it was strikingly sly but beautiful and hardly to never seen. As the Commander thrusted and slashed Virgo began to move in accordance. Being a Master with the Sword, such a basic series of moves was easy to identify, however even the most basics could pose troublesome if used by the right person. Virgo moved his blade into position to defend against the first downward strike but was to slow, due to being forced backwards, to defend from the second strike which was an upward slash. Virgo's chest and cheek cut, luckily not to deeply. But still Virgo could not forgive having his face slashed, anywhere else would have been fine but certainly not the face. It irked Virgo.
Before the Commander could follow up with his attack Virgo slashed his blade into the ground, his own strength enough to rip up solid rock from the paved earth tearing it forward to act as a shield to defend Virgo from all oncoming attacks. That wasn't all along with the stones and rubble was a mass of Dust and Sand, which could cause temporary blindness if one did close their eyes in time. Just as many good sized stones were raised, Virgo used his free hand to form a fist and punch one of the stones towards the Commander, the sheer force of the strike ripping skin from Virgo's knuckles. The stone, about the size of a man's torso flung forward, Virgo picking his Zanpakuto from the ground and following behind it. His blade pulled back to thurst forward towards the Commanders stomach.

Izuma was a bit taken that the basic had hit, but he did not let it make him over confident in anyway. It would be a horrible habit to gain if he simply got a little cut on his opponent and get to boosted about it. But his little smile was cut short when Virgo uprooted the earth, it caused him to stop and suddenly pushed back upon impulse which is good and bad at the dame time. Because his opponent had just sent a rather large slab of earth at him. "Is that it..?" Izuma asked as he how removed his left hand from his blade, using his hand to stop it as if it was a simple task without even breaking a sweet. "I'm a Hakuda Master myself..." he reminded the Vice-captain. However he than noticed the follow up thrust at his torso. "Naive..." Izuma said as he moved the blade in his right hand under his left arm with the flat part to block the thrust. Upon blocking Izuma smiled gentle at the Vice-Captain. "Well played, using the dust and debris to your advantage...however you just gave me another weapon..."
Right away Izuma brought his left arm up as in his left hand he still had the large rock. He than with great force brought it down at the Vice-captains head with enough force to crush him between it and the ground that they were both standing upon. "Never give your opponent an extra weapon..." he scolded at Virgo as he was now attempting to crush the Vice-captain.

Virgo Angelus___ The Angelic Guardian___ Virgo was a little disappointed that his plan had failed, but it wasn't a complete and utter failure. He was within a good distance of the Commander, and the Commander had his hands full. If he thought the Slab of Earth would work as a weapon then the Commander was in for a surprise. When it came to the Sword Virgo was a Master but he was still very skilled in Hand-to-Hand Combat, though maybe not as much so as the Commander, but that wouldn't matter. As the Commander forced the rock downward, Virgo raised his free hand taking hold of the descending rock and then using Shunpo in an usual way. Keeping his hand on the Rock, Virgo used Shunpo in a side step fashion to in a very swift motion cartwheel. Up in the air in a handstand position but his hand still holding the rock Virgo kicked his foot down aiming to the Commanders head, he would then follow up but twisting his hand which was planted on the rock the force spinning Virgo's entire body, his sword slashing to cut across the Commanders face.

Izuma saw that he was in quite the pickle at the moment. "Seems I underestimated your abilities..." he said as his eyes didn't loose Virgo even for a second. Though he didn't want to use it, he wanted to show exactly why he was the Captain Commander, so it was time to pull out a few more decent cards he hand in his hand. "Barrier: El Escudo (エル・エスクド, Eru Esukūdo; "The Shield").." he said as a green pentagon like shield appeared just before the kick and slash. Izuma than took this time to release the boulder and shunpo backwards before his opponents blade got through the barrier and just in time too, it had broken through it.
"My you seem to be rather ex..." but before he could finish he noticed a cut across his right cheek. "Maybe I have been toying a bit too much..." Izuma said as he was now release the full blunt of his spiritual energy. "I think we should really get it cooking in here..." he said as his smile disappeared from his face. Izuma now looks at him as he points his blade. "Harmonize, Houshou Aokakesu ( ジェイ・ブルー; Blue Jays )..."
Suddenly a massive burst of wind and air pressure happened around Izuma's being. As in this burst of wind ten [10] Lances appear spinning clockwise around him. These lances each looking the same with, the same abilities. Floated around him like he was a god, a being without a match to be compared to. "As the late Commander Yamamoto said, overwhelm your opponent leaving nothing but their ashes before you..." he said as he now waited for the Vice-captains move.
