Shirokuma likes to help anyone in any way he can in any situation. He thinks that by helping people he will be helped back in return later on. He also tends to protect during missions and acts as the tank for the group to take the most damage. He doesn't care if he gets hurt the most he just wants to help and make sure everyone is safe. Because of that he tends to show up at Squad 4 a lot to get healed.

Although he likes to help a lot Shirokuma doesn't speak at all and tends to stay away from other people out of missions. He gets nervous around people and tends to do the jobs he's given quickly. He thinks that if people found out what he really was they would fear him or even attack him. Because of this when he does his jobs with others he tends to make small mistakes as he tries to do everything perfectly.
Appearance:
Shirokuma is a tall and muscular being seeing as he stands at a staggering 7'3 feet and weighs about 500-600 pounds. He wears the shinigami uniform, but none of his features are shown. He wears a cloth helmet over his head while his hands are covered by white gauntlets and he wears white plated boots. His zanpakuto is always seen on his back with the handle of the sword behind his right shoulder. He thinks it's easier to draw this way. The only feature that can be seen is his dark blue eyes.Personality:
Shirokuma is a very kind person and likes to help out any way he can in any situation. He doesn't ask for anything, but he hopes the person can trust him for future jobs. Off battle he likes to help people that need it, but if there is nothing to do he likes to sit under a blossom tree and relax as he watches the flowers fall. During battle he tends to take most of the hits so that his teammates will be safe. He would rather have himself hurt than others. Although he likes to help he tends not to speak to anyone. Off the battlefield he gets nervous around others (except people he is helping) and tends to stay away from them. He thinks if people saw what he really was they would be afraid of him. Rarely he comes to trust someone and when he is around them he acts normally, but still doesn't talk. As stated earlier he likes to sit under a blossom tree, but he can also be found on any roof during night. He likes to star gaze.Character Relations:
Shirokuma has met many people in the Rukongai before he became a Shinigami and has come to like many of the older folks and the children. He used to play with the children every day and would help the elderly any time he could. He visits them when ever he can.

Background: Where Did You Come From?
Shirokuma doesn't remember much except for waking up in a small wooden shack in the 43rd Rukongai District. He didn't know how he got there or who he even was. Before he could do anything he found out an elderly couple had taken him in and were taking care of him. This touched him since they didn't seem to be afraid of what he was. He decided to stay with them for a bit and help them out with anything they needed help with. When he first walked around the Rukongai everyone feared him except for the children. They would always run up to him and hang off his legs or his arms asking for him to play with them. He never hesitated to do so. As time passed he became more comfortable around other people and began to help out more and more, but he never spoke a word to anyone. Every time he met someone new, however, he would become nervous and stay away from them, but he would still try and help in any way he could.
After a few years the elderly couple that had helped him had been killed by a robber trying to find some food. He was struck by grief for not being able to protect the people that had taken care of him. After that incident he went around and found the necessary items to his his body so nobody could see what he really was. After that he continued to help around the District and continued to play with the children of the Rukongai.

Rising Conflict: What Shaped You? As stated earlier Shirokuma lost the people that took care of him to a robber. After this incident he vowed to protect anyone that needed it. He kept his promise by becoming a sort of guard for hire. He worked for food, water, and anything that he needed. One day a being known as a Hollow was seen in the Rukongai. Hearing this news Shirokuma didn't hesitate to go look for the entity. Along with him came a young boy that was set on hunting the thing as well. No matter how much he tried to persuade the boy with gestures. He felt nervous around the boy and couldn't stop his hands from shaking. When they came to an open field that was surrounded by trees the two of them were attacked by the Hollow. Throughout the battle Shirokuma took most of the damage to protect the young boy, but it was no use. The boy was soon eaten by the Hollow which sent Shiro into a rage. He tore the Hollow to shreds before he finally calmed down. He was once again struck by grief at the thought of not being able to even protect a young boy. Using this as a drive he enrolled to become a Shinigami vowing to have enough strength to protect anyone.
