Just wondering. The Bible says not to imitate abominations to the Lord, but this is just a game. Nobody has any problems playing Battleship even though you're blowing up ships with loads of people on them.

i personally still do some things that i leanred about when i was a pagan. i realize alot of people probably think ill be going to hell for burning sage in the house and things like that butive prayed to god and i never got sent a sign that it was bad so i keep doing it

just pray and see what your gut tells you. if it affects your personal relationship with god then you probably shouldnt be doing it but if it doesnt or if it helps strengthen that bond then do what you want

It's a game on Gaia. As long as you don't have any trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy, I think you'll be fine.

I was taught sage works to remove negativity from an area. While many would say prayer does the same thing, sage provides an effect you can feel. So many people like to cry witch or satanism when something happens that they don't understand... honestly, I suspect sage works so well because it is a chemical reaction. So I declare, personally, the burning of sage is a matter of science and that is all.

Bottom line, as usual, to Sasune and Shanna both, do what you feel is right.

Since it's considerably make-believe, I don't see the harm in it.
That's kind of why I never understood the stink some Christians I knew made over the Harry Potter books -- it contained witchcraft, so apparently it's Satanic.
However...none of it is real...It's just pretend. I'm with rmcdra on this one.

I still feel very convicted that something is only a sin that is driven in sin. Or that the degree of the sin is respective. God created everything, and everything was good, and still is. Now when we twist, worship and call upon other idols/figures, disobey the laws, etc. the we're getting into the bad. Alchemy is science. An abomination should only literally be something against God's laws. The rest is wisdom. For example, as alchemy on Gaia was refered to, if you understand it is only a game, and has no other impact, it's effectively harmless. Now, if it drives you to go conjure up something terrible in real life, then it's an issue. If ever in a gray, uncertain area, just don't do it. We each must follow our own convictions.

I also believe some things may be a sin for some people, given their capacity, that would not be a sin for others, given their capacity. A man may go to war who hates his enemies and wants to see them die. For each death he inflicts, surely it is by far more of a sin than the man who kills only to defend and protect his people.

I tell you, if I suspected there was a demon in my house I'd burn some sage too. And I've never been involved in paganism.

@OP I think alchemy is only disdained by God if you begin to place faith in your ability rather than His ability. If anyone hates on you for that they're no better than my old Sunday school teacher who condemned me for reading HP.

Funny thing about Harry Potter... it's actually loosely based on the bible like LOTR and Narnia. J.K. Rowling is a Christian.

I didn't really make too much of that connection. I mean really, if you look hard enough, and go out on a limb, pretty much anything could be in some way connected to the bible.

Not really... Harry Potter is blatantly biblical... Yeah, most things will have the references because of certain things... like tests, and journeys and all that crap.

Voldemort though... I mean COME ON, the 7 Horcrux (Deadly Sins), Snakes, Deformed, etc... SCREAMS Serpent in Eden, Satan, etc...

Love is the ultimate power... obviously.
