The Cottage in the Country

Welcome to Tori and Donovan's new home! They both decided that leaving the country would be for the best, so they two ventured out into the country side of Europe. There they found a nice cottage that is down the road from a farm and close to a town with a pub. On the top floor is Tori's Bedroom and right beside it is Donovan's Bedroom. Right down the hall is the neat and tidy bathroom. Downstairs and towards the back is a small laundry room as well. Towards the front of the house is the cozy living room. The kitchen is on the right side of the cottage. Tori is very happy with her new home and she plans on staying here for the rest of her life with Donovan.

Emerald green eyes slowly blinked themselves open as the sleepy teenager started to ruse herself from sleep. Stretching her still sleeping limbs, Tori let out a quiet yawn as she finished stretching. Rubbing her hands with the back of her hand, Tori looked over at the calendar that hung on her wall. It had been two years today that they had moved to the European countryside, and the teenager loved the new life that her and Donovan had started. Yawning once more as she climbed out of bed, Tori stretched her arms over her head, making her now full chest bounce and sway with the movement. It was amazing what age and time could do to one's body, and if one was to compare the young Tori from two years ago to the present one... Well, one's jaw just might drop. Her lighter and short green hair had darkened and now fell down to the middle of her back. The teenager's hip and chest filled out in all the right places, and her hips had an attractive sway whenever she walked. Walking over to her dresser and pulling out some underwear and some other clothes, Tori decided to go and take a shower. That action made a smile trace her lips. It made her think back to when her and Donovan had first come to live with each other. He was taking a shower and the young mistress had walked in on the man as he was drying himself off. Of course, this could no longer happen seeing as the first thing her protector had done was install a lock on the bathroom door. Though Tori wasn't very sure why he did such a thing, the teen didn't question him and only nodded her head in understand when he explained what it was and what it did.

Walking into the bathroom, and locking the door like Donovan wanted her to, Tori started the shower and stepped inside once it was warm enough for her body to handle. There she started with her morning routine of washing her hair and body, and once that was finished she stepped out and dried her body. Pulling on her underwear, Tori grabbed her khaki capris and slipped them on before pulling on the baby blue v-neck shirt that showed some of her enticing cleavage. Checking her outfit to make sure it was okay, Tori finished with her morning hygienic routine and then moved downstairs to start some breakfast. The past two years, Tori was quite proud of herself. She had become quite the awesome little chef and the teen always made sure that she made it delicious for her protector. Though... she had a feeling that Donovan would tell her that it was tasty no matter what, Tori found that she had been able to read him a bit better by now. Donovan never said much but by small actions she noticed what kind of moods he was in, but the biggest key indicator was his eyes. Whenever he was in a good mood they seemed to brighten, but whenever he was angry or deep in thought they tended to darken with some many emotions. As she started cooking some bacon and sausage, the young woman started to think about her protector's mood. Though Donovan had opened opened up to her quite a bit, but for some reason... he seemed more angry as well. For why she wasn't very sure... Tori thought he would be happy that she had become more social and talked to more people now. Wouldn't Donovan be proud of her? Putting a finger to her lips as she thought for a few short moments, Tori jumped and gasped as some grease popped on her hand. Frowning and sticking her tongue out at the pan, the gem continued to fix breakfast. Donovan should be hungry by now.

When the grease popping meat was finished, Tori started to make some scrambled eggs. It only took just a few moments to cook those and when everything was finished, Tori grabbed two plates as she popped some bread into the toaster. Cups were already at the table with the silverware and some juice and milk was sitting in the fridge to keep it nice and cold. Her stomach let out a rumble of protest as she waited for her protector, but Tori shook her head and moved to stand at the sink to look out the window. It was starting to be a lovely morning and there were fluffy white clouds in the sky. Across the yard, bees and butterflies could be seen fluttering about her flower garden which made her smile. Someone else thought that her flowers were pretty. Giggling happily and then letting out a happy sigh, Tori moved to sit at the table. Soft green locks fell over her shoulders and a soft hand went up to run her fingers through her hair. The gem was glad that she had decided to grow out her hair. It looked and felt nice and sometimes she believed that Donovan liked it too. Donovan... Her eyelids lowered as she thought about the years they had been together, and about that one night in the hotel. Ever since that night, her protector had tried his best to keep her an arm's length away. No more kisses or hugs from him. Her fingers started to play with the ends of her emerald locks as she thought about him holding her close and his lips on hers. She had thought he liked it too but maybe he didn't. Maybe it was only her that liked it? Rubbing her eyes and letting out a troubled sigh, the teen put her chin in her hand. It wasn't like she could ask him either... Donovan had become very short with his answers and often tried to switch subjects whenever she brought something of a sexual nature up. Sighing heavily and pushing herself out of her seat, Tori felt like she couldn't sit still. Too much stuff was on her mind and for some reason, she wasn't very hungry either. That was normal for her though... The only reason why she ate bigger portions was because Donovan made her. He would probably be mad at her for not eating breakfast but the girl was willing to chance it.

Writing a quick note telling him that she went on ahead to the farm, Tori slipped on some tennis shoes and started walking down the dirt road. The farm had been a blessing for her and Donovan. It was a place to work even though her bodyguard had to work a second job to afford their rent. The place had so many animals and Tori had found her passion with working with the horses. They were smart and beautiful animals and Tori was glad that her new friends were so willing to teach her about them. Why she was learning ride and from what her new guy friends said, she was learning quite well! Walking into the barn and smiling at her friends as they walked over to greet her, the gem grabbed a brush and started brushing her favorite horse as she chatted idly. She thought about Donovan and wondered if he would be mad at her for leaving early. She knew that he hated for her to go anywhere without him, but surely after all this time she was safe? Maybe she was safe from harm but not a man's lustful mind. Something that she was completely oblivious to. Jumping out of her thoughts when one of the boys mentioned her bodyguard, Tori skilled cutely and said that he would be coming soon. She really hoped he would so she could talk to him. Maybe they could even have lunch together! Giggling happily causing her friends to blush and think with something else, Tori was determined to finish working so she could eat lunch with Donovan. It would be so much fun and maybe she could ask him why he wouldn't let her hug or kiss him anymore...

Donavon
User Image Long before the sun had rose over the rolling fields and farm lands of the quaint, quiet, still sleeping European countryside town; there were two bright deep blues eyes were wide open inside one of the cozy cottage that dotted the landscape. Perfectly still the man listened to the world around him start to wake slowly. An arm was up with a hand propping up a coal haired head while the other was placed on his stomach. Even though to anyone that would have been looking at him would have thought he peaceful in thought. Calm exterior was only hiding the all the thoughts swirled and crashed together in his mind. Two years, he thought his chest raising and falling evenly. They had lived in this place in retaliative peace for two years. Donavon didn't need a calendar or any sort of reminder for that anniversary. Their flight from the those that would have harmed his emerald mistress... those that threatened to take the gem away... The man's jaw clenched at any small thought of those men. Donavon would never forget their faces. The way that they had bruised the delicate female he was bond to. If he ever saw them again...Anyways, it had been a lot easier than he thought it would have been. True there had been a few tense and close moments but nothing that anyone would have thought to be high danger. Donavon, a slave fighter then slave guard, knew that it was never a good idea to let one's guard down. No matter how safe the world seemed.

Even though this town had no real conflict that required an amazing amount of physical force, Donavon tried to keep himself in tip top condition. At this moment he wanted to get up and go for his morning run and work out. A good physical work out would help him keep his mind focused. Donavon did not move though. He would not until he knew that his mistress was awake. The fighter's mind wandered towards thoughts of woman who was still sleeping peacefully in the next room. She needs her rest Tori insisted on taking on all the 'womanly' chores around the house. The cooking, the cleaning, and the beautiful garden that surrounded their home, these were all done by the green haired female. Well, Donavon did help where he could or allowed. He had tilled the ground where she had planted the new bushes and pulled offensive weeds when ever he saw one starting to grow. His mistress also took a job at the farm he had found to make the money they needed to live in this place. Which was helpful not only because of the money but also he could keep an eye on her during the day. If these reasons weren't enough for the gem to sleep as long as she needed; Tori had been growing so much these couple of years. The girl had grown from a small, cute, more girl than teen to an almost full grown woman! Tori had grown a few inches. Even thought he still towered over Tori, her head now came to his chest instead of belly. Her hair had grown long and full and bounced when she moved. A far cry from the pixie cut she once sported. It would be a great lie if he didn't notice what else has grown full and bounced when she moved...

Click...pat pat pat. Sounds of Tori leaving her room snapped Donavon out of his thoughts and back to where they should be. His body stilled completely. Breathing was even held until he heard the door to the bathroom had closed and the small sound of metal tone of the lock was heard. A lock was something he had insisted on for both their goods. Letting his breath go slowly through his teeth, Donavon looked down his body to discover that his hand had moved down his stomach. Now the hand was dangerously close to going into his underwear. In fact the tips of his finger were already starting to go under. The fighter blinked at the hand for a moment. How the fu... he thought retching his hand away from from himself as he quickly rolled off his slightly too small bed. It unnerved him that he hadn't even notice his own hand was about to release the tension that had been building in his boxers. Growling at himself he quickly whipped out a pair of loose fitting shorts and pulled them on. As soon as the shower came on he slipped out of his bedroom door and down the stairs. Shoes were pulled on just as quick before he was out the door. The air out side was crisp and slightly colder that most would like for a morning run in just shorts, but Donavon was grateful for it. After taking a deep breath the guard sprinted down the small path, jumped up and over the bush, then started his long run to punish himself for the his hand being naughty.

By the time Donavon was finished, his whole body ached. When this guard went for a run it wasn't just a run. He did all sorts of exercise a long the way to keep his body guessing as to which they needed to supply with energy. It was effective enough also to keep his mind off the emerald that lived inside. As his hand went to the front door he could already tell that the house was too quiet for Tori to be in there. Blue eyes narrowed as he entered the home. Had he been careless and hadn't noticed something off in his haste to get away from the cottage? Quickly scanning the front room nothing seemed out of place. The smells coming from the kitchen made the tall male make his quick way there. The kitchen was tidy but for the huge pile of food on the counter and a note that was next to it. A black eyebrow rose as he made his way to the note and the food. Reading over it he realized that she had left already for work. The stoic male's face kept calm while inside he was frowning deeply. Why would she do such a thing? Leave with out him! Didn't she realize how dangerous things were out there. She doesn't, he thought as his eyes strayed to the food. There was not enough gone. Not only was there enough food gone there seemed to be every indication that Tori hadn't eaten either. Donavon couldn't help the huff that came out of his nostrils before he grabbed up the plate. Eating his fill, then a quick rinse of a shower, and he was out of there almost stomping all the way to work.

....

Late? No, he wasn't that late. A couple of the girls had been teasing him ever since he showed up. They had caught him right as he was about to head to where he knew Tori would be. They had needed help carrying the milk to large country house from the smaller dairy farm house. Yes, this farm was mainly for the horses but there were a few other animals that produced a other goods. Mostly the milk, the eggs, and the few veggies were used at the house. Sometimes they send some of the extra home with the workers or sell it at the farmers markets. It wasn't like the owners needed that money. They owned a few more crop fields, a sheep farm, and a good chunk of area itself. "Donavon? Are you even listening to us?" the red haired female at his side giggled. "Nah, he is too mad about being late," the purple eyed girl at his other side teased as she struggled with her own bucket of milk that was going to go to the dogs and cats of the farm. Donavon didn't roll his eyes like he wanted to. He didn't flirt back with two cute girls like all the other guys would have. No, he just kept his eyes forward and rolled his shoulders as the he continued to carry the two heavy pails to the cold cellar. Carefully, the milk was placed to the floor before he turned to leave the red head stopped him. Her hand was on his chest. The bright blue eyes looked at her and he could hear the purple eyed girl messing around with the milk giggling. "It really means so much that you helped us." The words were laced with flirtation. Donavon only nodded to her. He had not really noticed it. The fighter more wanted to get back out there to check on Tori and get to his own work. The built man even started to move again. "No, really Donavon," the red head persisted her hand pushing softly to still him, "if there is anything..." She moved a little closer to him. "Any thing..." she repeated biting her lip, "I." The other girl gave a little cough. "We," she quickly amended, "could ever do to repay all your help. You just let us know."

"DONAVON!" The masculine yell caused the red hair girl to jump a little. It was enough of a distraction that the bodyguard moved around her and up the stairs with out a look back. He knew that yell. It was coming from the older or (as he liked to considered himself) head hearder. The old man, Garry, did have a lot of experience that Donavon had needed when he first started. The fighter respected him even if he did have an all knowing air to his advice. "What are you doing boy?" Garry said while Donavon strode over to the work truck. The fighter didn't answer but nodded back the way he came. Unfortunately, it was just in time for the two girls to emerged talking in hushed tones about how bold the red head had been and the whole sexual fire that 'had been there' or whatever they thought happened. The old man shook his head. "I know it's tempting boy-o," the old man clapped the tall male on the back as the came towards the back of the truck, "but it isn't worth it." Donavon didn't respond as he looked over the new saddle that had be the daughter's of the house. "Ah yes, her majesty needed a new show saddle. Take it to the barn will ya?" Garry instructed before turning towards the main house.

Fine by me, he thought grabbing up the beautiful leather saddle. That was were he knew that Tori would be. She was always fixing up the horse before they were let out in the morning and she would be there at the end of the day when they herded them all back. Crossing the yard to the barn took no time at all. Going in the already opened door, Donavon bright eyes quickly looked about for the emerald.

She couldn't help but wonder if Donovan was mad at her. Not only did she leave for work without him, but she didn't eat any breakfast. Most would say there would be no way the tall male would she didn't eat breakfast, but Donovan seemed to notice everything. Her protector would definitely notice that there wasn't enough food gone from the breakfast platter. Though she was too focused on other thoughts to truly worry if Donovan was angry with her for her actions this morning. No... Tori wanted to know why he hadn't kissed her anymore after that one night two years ago. Sighing softly as a thoughtful expression appeared on her face, was there something about her that Donovan didn't like? Or... did he see her as a child still? Her hand stopped at the thought. No! Donovan knew that she wasn't helpless like that! Didn't he? Jumping when she heard the brush fall to the ground she frowned and picked it back up. Everything was okay between her and Donovan! Feeling the horse nudge her arm, Tori smiled and patted the horse's neck, apologizing for her sudden stopping. After she finished brushing the horse, she would go voice her concerns to her stoic protector. He would be honest with her but the problem was if she would like what he had to say this time...

Putting the brush away, the gem told her friends she needed to take a little break. She wasn't exactly sure where Donovan would be but she was determined to find him. Walking towards the main house, Tori looked around and finally saw him. Smiling brightly she was ready to walk up to him but stopped when she noticed two other women. Frowning and taking a step back, trying to hide, Tori watched as they smiled and kept brushing up against him. The same burning sensation as two years ago filled her chest, and she still didn't know what this feeling was. Why didn't Donovan push them away or tell them to stop?! He made sure that she didn't touch him like that! Furrowing her brows as her eyes took on a dark, dark shade of green, the young women turned her back to them and stormed back to the barn. All of these dark and ugly emotions swirled in her heart and mind. Tori wasn't sure what all these feelings meant but she knew that Donovan was the cause of it. Once back in the barn, everyone could tell she was upset. Though Tori tried her hardest to hide her emotions, she failed miserably at it. No... she was like an open book and no one had the heart to tell her otherwise. Grabbing up the brush and starting on the next horse, Tori remained silent. The guys tried to get her to smile and talk, but the gem only smiled politely and continued with her job. "Tori, the new foals are out in the fields. Want to ride out and see them?" Looking up at her blonde haired and blue eyed friend, Ryan, Tori smiled a little and nodded her head. She always liked seeing the little foals. "I'll let you ride with me. It will be faster that way." As Tori walked over to the horse, she could hear the other boys whisper and look at Ryan with odd expressions. If she didn't understand what jealousy felt like, then she was most certainly not able to see it either. Climbing up into the saddle, Ryan quickly climbed up behind her and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her back and close to him.

Something about the way she was close to the man felt off... It was like it almost felt wrong but Tori knew why. It was because she wanted to be this close to her protector. The pair didn't stay out in the fields for long. As soon as they saw the foals and chatted for a few minutes, they quickly made their way back to the barn, seeing as Ryan would have been in trouble if he didn't get back to herding the sheep. Once safely in the barn, the blonde slid off his horse and turned to catch Tori as she did the same. His hands felt warm and strong on her hips, reminding her that Donovan's felt the same way as well... as did the rest of his body. Looking up at the blonde she smiled, feeling a little bit better.
"Thank you for taking me out. It was fun." She felt his hands tighten before relaxing and letting her go as he smiled at her. "Anything for you but I was wondering... If you'd like to go out one night after work?" Now this confused the small gem. What did go out mean? Tori was about to voice her question when Ryan bent his head and softly kissed her. "Just think it over and give me an answer later?" Watching him run away, Tori's eyes looked towards the door to see him walk by Donovan. Donovan... her eyes darkened another shade as she looked over him holding a leather saddle. Seeing him made those same nasty feelings come back causing her eyes to narrow in a glare as a cute but angry frown played on her lips.

Turning her back to him, the young woman quickly made her way out the back to the riding corals, were one of them house a dark and very wild stallion. The horse had been a rather recent purchase and so far no one had been able to get near him... except Tori. Whenever she was around, the stallion calmed instantly and let the gem groom and take care of his needs. Other had tried to come around whenever Tori was in the coral, but the stallion had quickly ran them off. It was very clear that the creature wanted Tori to himself, and he was determined to keep it that way. Climbing into the coral, Tori smiled as she saw the large black horse. She had to decided to call him Spirit, seeing as this particular animal clearly had a lot of it.
"Have the other been nice to you today?" The other farm hands had tried to tie the horse and put a saddle on him, but it only made matters worse for them. It was coming down to the point if they couldn't get a rider on the animal they were going to sell him to the highest bidder. Running her hand along his neck, before hiding her face against him, Tori sighed and closed her eyes. "Spirit I am so confused... I wish I knew what I was feeling." She had a feeling that Donovan would be worried, seeing as she did run away from him, but for once in her life... Tori just wanted to be left alone.

Donavon
User Image The male carefully handled the saddle in his arms as he formulated what he was going to say to the girl when he saw her next. Tori, he was sure that was the best way to start. Donavon knew when he said her name it always got her attention. She would know he meant business when he spoke to her. Even through these two years he had kept his speech to a minimum. So yes her name would insure that he wouldn't need to repeat himself. Tori, you know better than to leave with out me.. No, that sounded too demanding. After all even with her removing the collar the years before, the girl was still his mistress. He knew shouldn't reprimand her! Yes that wouldn't do at all! Especially since they were in public; in front of her peers. So he needed to be tactful about it all. Tori, why did you leave so early this...

These thoughts ended abruptly when he entered the barn and saw his gem mistress standing all together too closely to one of the other employes. Blue eyes darkened as he watched on from the doorway. Grip tightening on the saddle, as his face grew ever closer to his small mistress's. What the hell is... That thought was cut short as their lips connected. The guard almost dropped the saddle right then and there. The male was headed in his direction. All the more easier for him to get ready for the fight if it was needed. Eyes narrowed as the male neared him. His knuckled itched to connect with the man's jaw, his blue eyes flicked towards his mistress for any sign of distress from Ryan's actions. Instead of seeing anger aimed towards the other male those beautiful green eyes were narrowed towards him. Donavon blinked at the angry girl. There was no understanding as to why she looked so unhappy towards him. A frown in anger was definitely something he was unused to. She would some time frown slightly in confusion at him or a situation but rarely ever in anger.

What the hell? His own confusion was now mixing with some anger at her seeming unrighteous mood towards him. As she quickly turned for him as the one called Ryan was now at his side. "What's the hold up bro?" Ryan asked as he turned to see where the taller man gaze was landing. Soon a laugh sounded from the stealer of kissed as he clapped the guards back. "Yeah, I guess that kiss took her by surprise." Ryan has a smug smirk as some of the other guys started to lead some of the work horses towards them. They all were talking about what they had witnessed as Donavon kept perfectly still and listened. "She didn't even kiss you back." One noted with a little jealousy in his voice as he took the saddle from the stoic male. "Yeah, but she didn't push me away." "That means s**t," another laughed handing them both reigns to their own horses."Yeah, she doesn't really seem like the make a fuss type," the jealous one rejoined the conversation after putting the new saddle away. "She is a big girl, Ryan smirked a bit making an over exaggerated show of the girl's figure, "She could have stopped me." Donavon's eyes snapped towards Ryan that looked all too smug. "You don't know her that well man," the jovial one of the group commented as he mounted his horse as he continued to tease, "She could have hated it and was too grossed out to even move." Could that be true? Maybe she was mad because I didn't stop him! the fighter eyes flicked to the lead that was in his hand before looking towards Ryan again. If looks could kill. Not it would necessary since his fist was ready to give the other male rather good punch in the face.

"Whats the hold up!?" a familiar voice sounded causing Donavon to pause in his actions before they started. Garry was already sitting high in his saddle. The three remaining males, including Donavon, quickly climbed onto their steads. "Come on boys we got work to do! Ya!" With a swift quick to his horse the oldest male went past them towards the other exit that Tori had exited through. Soon the whole group was passing the coral where the green haired female was working with the 'wild' black stallion of the ranch. "Now you be careful little lady," Garry spoke out to Tori as they passed. Donavon eyes looked over to his mistress as well with small hint of worry as well. The stallion had a reputation but it was also known that she had a way with the unpredictable horse. Dark eyes watched her as the group rode by. The other boys were joking and teasing Ryan a little, but soon were hushed when Garry started up the gallop towards the open fields.

The ride was a blessing really. They were all too focused on the ride to the other farm to really talk about what had transpired. The guard was still confused about what all that happened that morning. Even when they did start to speak How could he focus on the questions Questions such as: Why she had left so early? Why she hadn't eaten? How did that kiss even happen? Why did she look so angry at him after? No. The guard's mind was solely on the task at hand. Even when they arrived at the sheep farm the talk was based around moving the herd. Donavon was at the back a long with the teasing one from before. His name was Jacob. A slightly more husky guy then most at the farm. Jacob whistled a little bit as they directed any wayward sheep back to the herd. But it wasn't long before the talk went to something else besides the job. "You seem a little more... quiet than usual," Jacob said scratching the back of his dark brown head before plopping his typical cowboy hat back on it. Donavon grunted a little in return along with a roll of his shoulder. "Yeah, you are. Looks like you got something on the mind." There was a small pause then, "A girl perhaps got you feeling down?" Donavon frowned a little knowing that it was partly true. "Oi! It is true huh? Our boy Donavon is sweet on someone," Jacob laughed as the rest of the group came up on them letting the sheep fan out in the new part of the pasture.

Jacob finding something to entertain himself on the ride back wouldn't let this little bit go. "Hmm, who could it be?" "Who could what be?" one of the other hands asked as the group started to turn back to the farm. "Donavon finally seems to be taking an interest in a girl and now it seems like it is getting him down," Jacob informed the group. "Doesn't he live with Tori?" "Yeah, but I have never seen him make the slightest move on her." "He better not either," Ryan chuckled still joining in on the friendly banter, "That little filly is all mine to ride. Though I guess you can have her when I am down with her." It was all just in jokes and male talk about the fairer sex. Stuff that they usually didn't mean or wholeheartedly mean to be rude. It was quite possible that Ryan did want more for Tori then 'love em or leave em sense'. All the same Donavon's eye narrowed at the other male. "Careful now," Jacob chuckled thumbing over to Donavon, "I wouldn't want to see this one let loose if angered." "Come on if he wanted to get in her pants he would have done it already. She is ripe for the claiming and I aim to do it." Ryan boasted this as he got off his horse now that they were back at the barn. That was the last straw.

Jumping off his horse, Donavon landed straight on Ryan. There was a slight scuffle but Donavon had the element of surprise on his side. Not to mention, the distinct advantage of being a bit stronger than the other male. It was really over before the others could even get off their horse or make even that much of protest. Donavon was on top of Ryan pinning him squarely to the ground. Eyes dark blue and dangerous.
"You do not talk about Miss Tori like that," Donavon practically growled at the male below him. "Jesus Donavon! I was just kidding! F*ck!" Ryan shot back still trying to struggle in the coal haired male's grip. "Yeah, Donny," Jacob started putting a hand on the back of the fighter, "Ryan didn't mean anything by it." "Come on son," Garry spoke next placing a hand on the shoulder of the fighter as well. Slowly they pulled him off the other boy as the other two riders pulled Ryan to his feet. "Ryan should know better than to speak like that about your friend while you're around." Garry addressed both the boys even though he was facing Donavon. Garry had worked out long ago that there was something between Tori and Donavon. Something that deeply connected them to each other than just room mates. Donavon was always there when ever Tori seemed to need him. Tori in turn was always fixing the male his lunches and encouraging him. But even Garry had to admit that there wasn't really a sexual vibe between them. Donavon dark eyes still looked over Ryan though they seemed to look a little less dangerous then before. "Yeah I guess I was getting a bit out of hand," Ryan admitted as he dusted himself off. Donavon relaxed a little further and gave a roll of his shoulders.

Resting her cheek on the horse's neck, her hand running through his mane, Tori tried to calm her speeding heart. She wanted nothing more than to talk to Donovan but at the same time she didn't. Every time that she looked at him, that same twisted feeling appeared in her chest. She didn't know what to do... Sighing deeply and shaking her head, she gave the horse a small smile and patted his neck. "Everything will be alright in the end... I just need to figure out what I am feeling and then I can talk to Donovan. That makes the most sense... I think..." Letting out a small laugh as Spirit turned his face towards her, Tori smiled and rested her forehead against the large face. At least she found comfort out of working with horses. "Now lets brush you out and get you all groomed and taken care of." Smiling as the horse snorted and jerked his head gently, Tori grabbed the nearby brush and started running it down his neck and his back. The gem didn't understand why the others were so afraid of such a gentle animal. Spirit wasn't a bad horse! The others were just to mean and didn't understand the animal. She just had to show everyone just how good of an animal that he was! Tori was determined to change the other farm hand's minds.

Hearing Spirit let out a whiney and jerk his head, Tori looked up to see the others riding out. Ryan was one of them and Donovan was at the back. Emerald eyes locked onto Garry as he spoke to her, completely ignoring Ryan as he went by, but the green eyes darkened as they locked onto Donovan's crystal blues. Simply nodding her head and turning her back to them, the black stallion quickly trotted over to the fence, snorting and stamping his feet until the others were completely gone. Snorting once they were out of view, the stallion walked back to Tori and lowered his head towards her, pressing his velvety nose against Tori's cheek. Yes... he was a very good horse. Grabbing another brush to brush out his mane and tail, Tori looked out towards the fields were she knew her protector would be working. She knew that she needed to talk to him but every time she saw him those two women were right next to him, touching and pressing against him like she wanted to! Closing her eyes and shaking her head, Tori took a deep breath as she put the brushes away. She needed to calm down and think clearly like Donovan did! How could she do that though when her heart and mind were a complete mess? Letting out an exasperated sigh, the gem mistress decided not to think about it for now. When Donovan came back from the fields, she would talk to him and then ask him what go out meant. Once she found what what that meant, she could give Ryan an answer. Everything was going to be just fine. She knew that it would be!

Well... Tori thought it anyways. As the young woman was packing up the rest of the brushes and combs, the same two women that were flirting with Donovan decided to walk by the coral. "Look its that girl who lives with Donovan." Hearing the dark haired man's name, Tori looked up and frowned in confusion at the two, wondering why they were here. Looking at the pails in their hands, she knew that they were supposed to be with the cows getting milk... which was in the opposite direction from here. Giving them a confused look, the two women laughed and looked at each other. "It's no wonder why Donovan was looking at us with so much fire. He's looking for a more intelligent woman... He must be tired of dealing with stupid." "Or he is just bored of playing with her... We will keep him must more satisfied than she ever will." Her face felt hot as her mind started to go blank. Why were they talking like that?! Donovan wasn't tired of her and she wasn't stupid!! Sensing Tori's mood, the stallion quickly ran over to the fence, rearing up and letting out loud cries. "That just proves how dumb she is! Working with a wild animal! Let's go back to the dairy barn!" Closing her eyes as her fists clenched tightly, nails biting into her skin, Tori tried to make sense of what she just heard. Donovan didn't play with her! They were too old to play with toys or play games! He didn't think she was stupid... right? And they didn't know Spirit like she did! He wasn't wild or crazy! He was just misunderstood like she was... Opening her eyes when the horse nudge her shoulder gently with his nose, Tori looked up at him with determined eyes.
"We will prove them wrong! We can show them that someone can ride you!" The other farm hands had a saddle and the rest of the riding gear near by, seeing as they had tried for weeks to tame the animal, so all Tori had to do was get Spirit to put it on him. She could do this! After all, she had watched the others do it so many times already.

Facing the horse and putting a hand on his nose, Tori looked up into his large brown eyes.
"I know that the others have frightened you and tried to force you into this, but will you please let me do this? I won't hurt you!" Emerald eyes searched the brown ones and then watched as the animal walked over to where all the gear was located, smiling and moving over to join him, Tori started to work. While she fixed everything, she sang softly, trying to keep the stallion as calm as possible. The gem had watched from the barn as the others yelled and tried to rope him into submission. Those attempts had obviously failed so she did what she normally did when grooming Spirit, and that was sing to him. Once she was finished, Tori looked to the saddle and took a deep breath. What had possessed her to do this? She knew that if Donovan was close by he would protest her actions and convince her that this wasn't safe at all, but for some odd reason... that made Tori want to do it even more. She wasn't a child that needed to be coddled! And she most certainly wasn't going to break if she got hurt! Climbing up into the saddle, Tori took the reigns into her soft hands and the next thing she knew, she was leaning close as the horse jumped over the fence.

She heard the others call out and then race to find Garry and the others as Tori headed for the fields where all the other horses were. The young woman had a feeling that they would get the news rather fast and her protector wouldn't be happy with her, but at this moment... Tori didn't mind it so much. She was having fun and proved the impossible to the others! She wasn't some weak and easy to control girl! She knew how to make choices (most of the time those were out of mere curiosity) but she still made them! Her choice to find Donovan had been a good one, and just look at the life they had together! That thought made her pull back on the leather reigns, making them come to a complete halt on the hill over looking the other horses. What life did she have with the man? Tori was happy living Donovan but was he just as happy as she was? He never made a protest or tried to get away from her, so that meant that he liked it too? Sliding off of the saddle and leading Spirit into the pasture, Tori closed the gate and sat down next to it. Was she wrong to make to think that her male companion was happy with her? Maybe she was making him upset... and maybe that was why he never let her get close to him. Maybe he wanted someone else instead of her? At the end of that thought she felt her chest constrict causing her to rub the place over her heart. Tears welled in her eyes and she quickly wiped them away with her hands. She needed to talk to Donovan...
"Come on Spirit, we need to get back to the coral. It's almost time for Donovan to come back to the barn." Smiling as the stallion walked close to her, Tori grabbed the reigns and started leading the horse back to the coral.

As she walked closer to the barn, Tori stopped and tilted her head when she heard some scuffling noises, and some angry voices. That was odd for the barn... the guys in there were usually happy and smiling.
"Come on Spirit... we had better get you taken care of. I'm starting to get tired..." Walking around the barn and into the correct coral, Tori shut the gate behind her and started working on taking all the riding gear off of the stallion. It was off but the more she continued to work, the more tired and weaker she became. Sliding the saddle off of his back, Tori put it on a nearby barrel, and then leaned against the fence. "Spirit... I don't feel good... I'm getting... tired..." She needed to get to Donovan. He would know what to do. Walking out of the coral and shutting the gate, the world became black and the last thing she heard was someone screaming Donovan's name.

Donavon
User Image It was truly amazing the amount of restraint the fight had shown during with physical conflict with Ryan. It would have been easy and quick enough for that well trained fighter to simply kill Ryan. Donavon been through enough today, had he not? Starting off with that uncomfortable moment in bed. The work out had provided a good relief of stress. But when coming home and finding that Tori had taken off and left without him that morning. Not only that she hadn't eaten! These worries might not seem like a big issues. But for someone's who life's purpose was to serve and protect. Well, it was a big wrench in his usual routine for sure. If that wasn't enough when finally found his mistress, she was being kissed by someone! Donavon hadn't even the slightest hint something like that would have happened. Honestly, it probably wouldn't have if he had been there. Tori then scoffed and left the barn with out a word of explanation. His gem mistress have even looked angrily at him! Right before they rode out they had exchanged a momentary glance; dark blue on deep green. It was all enough to make the poor fighter want to frown his frustration to the world! Maybe even scream! It was no wonder that the straw that broke the stress camel on the guard's back was having listen to Ryan taking about treating his sweet mistress in such a disrespectful way! As Tori's protector, Donavon felt he had every right to protect and defend his mistress's honor. Even to the death!

To any other slave that had been trained as the coal haired male had would have applauded or been appalled by the show tremendous restraint. Donavon could have killed the offending man before he had tackled him to the ground. The fact that Ryan was escaping with little more than a few bruises was a miracle, considering how Donavon's fights usually ended up. The fight was quick. It was clear who the victor was as they were pulled away and up from each other. While Ryan admited to being a little wrong...Donavon kept quiet only rolling his shoulder and giving a small nod to the soundly beaten's man words. Eyes of all the men in their group were on them; tension still thick in the air.

"Come on boys," the voice of reason or at least distraction, Garry spoke taking the saddle off his horse, "get these horse back in their stalls. We have more work to do." These words caused the men to break the concentration. Even to an untrained eye, Donavon even relaxed as he took a step back to his horse. "Get'em in bed and fed." Work was the best medicine for these types of situations. It was something physical, to get bodies energy out. Also it provided a mental distraction a bit. Taking care of a large animal did require a bit a of care. Two great ways to defuse the situation and transition into something new. Everyone was moving about the barn. Taking off saddles, blankets, and bridles; grabbing the hay to feed them. All this movement soon brought the talking back. Jacob took up next to Donavon again chatting merrily about the fight a bit. Not that the reason the fight happened ever came out. No, Jacob just went on to praise the fighter on how quick Donavon was. "You got to teach me how you moved that fast! Or at least that hold when you got him to the ground. That's gotta be some professionally s**t there, Don.."

"DONAVON!!!!

No sooner had the first sounds of Tori's screams were heard had Donavon started to move. Before the scream ended, Donavon had already jumped up, over the stall of his horse. He didn't need anyone to tell him who it was. Though all around him seemed confused by the female scream. There wasn't as single question in Donavon's mind. No his mind was consumed by thoughts of Tori, Did they come back? Would they dare here?! No, it couldn't be that. THE Horse! Did that stallion lose his temper with her to close? These were the thought as he ran out of the barn. Dark blue eyes scanned the area quickly for any sight of her. Zeroing on the green hair near the fence, Donavon was on the move again. Quick as a flash he was on his knees and by her side. Quickly he scooped her up a bit in his arms so she was sitting slightly on the ground but slightly in his lap. A hand went to her cheek,"Tori, he spoke a little loader than he usually would,"Tori! What the hell happened?

By this point a few of the other workers had come to where they were. Donavon ignored them as they spoke of fetching this and that. He couldn't think about what others were doing. No, his mind was only focused on the emerald in his arms. Did that horse do this? Looking over her frame that didn't seem a possibility. While she was a little dirt she didn't look harmed. He kept on thinking through the day. His mind was all muddled with worry it was hard to think why this had happened to her. Before he knew it, there was a hand handing him some water. With out even pausing he splashed it on Tori quickly. "Wake up, Tori, he pleaded to her. Soon duller but still pretty green eyes fluttered open a little. A great wave a relief comes over him. As she looked weakly around Donavon heard the faintest sound of a rumble. It hadn't come from him. Blue eyes widened as the gurgle sound came from her belly. A frown crossed the stoic lips as he swooped her up in his arms. "I am taking Tori home, Donavon spoke out to no one in particular as he stood up and turns towards the direction of home.

Luckily, Garry was there. The old man nodded at the situation, "Alright then, take the truck. He threw the keys to Donavon who grabbed them with out even jostling his tired mistress. So there he stomped off. Not even caring if she was protesting or saying anything at all. No, he was honestly angry! How could she not eat? It was careless! It was stupid. That had to be the cause. The sounds of her tummy rumbles were all that he could seem to hear or at least acknowledge at that point. Soon they were by the truck he opened the door with one hand plopped Tori gently in the passenger seat. The guard was still frowning as he got into the driver seat. Still frowning as they were going down the road.

Tori hadn't been entirely sure as to why she felt so exhausted and weak, but she knew that she was getting sleepier by the second... all the emerald mistress wanted to do was curl in bed and sleep the rest of the day away. Maybe if she did that very thing then all of her troubling thoughts would disappear with sleep. As soon as the young woman shut the gate to the coral, the green-haired female dropped to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Unknowingly to her however, it was her voice that had unconsciously called out to her protector. As she laid there on the ground, the female felt as if she was in a dream world. She couldn't see anything but she could hear everything that went on around her. The sound of the stallion crying out and snorting was close by, but soon she felt strong hands and arms pull her into a warm lap. Then the sound of the dark haired male's voice resonated in her ears. His voice was full of worry and a hint of another emotion that she could not pinpoint, but it was something she never heard from her protector...

Tori wanted nothing more than to call out to Donovan, to tell him that she was tired but she just didn't have the strength to do so. On top of that, she just wanted to sleep like this, with his arms holding her close, but that was taken away when she felt cold water splash her face. Groaning softly as some of her facial muscles twitched with uncomfort, dull green eyes soon opened to see dark blue staring down at her. Smiling weakly at him, Tori let out a soft sigh but frowned as her stomach started to rumble and growl in protest of her decision of skipping out on having breakfast this morning. Looking back at the man holding her, his eyes seemed to darken in color and a frown appeared on his lips. That was something that she had never seen Donovan do. She wanted to ask him why he was frowning but those thoughts were soon ended when Donovan announced that he was taking her back home. Green eyes widened and she was about to protest when the man swooped her up, causing her body to press closely to his. Small hands quickly gripped his shirt tightly as her face hid against his neck.

Inhaling deeply, a small smile appeared on her lips as Donovan's scent filled her nose. Though he had been working, the small female could still smell his scent of his body wash, but it smelled much nicer on him then it did it the bottle. Tori wanted to learn more of his scents but that opportunity was taken from her when Donovan sat her down inside of a truck. Letting out a whine of protest, the young woman let out sigh and leaned against the seat as Donovan shut the door. Watching him walk around and get in the other side, green eyes looked over him but soon turned to look out the window. Something didn't feel right... She was used to the crystal eyed male been quiet but there was something different about this type of quiet. It made her feel on edge and uncomfortable, like it was something bad... Peeking over at him, Tori frowned in confusion. Why was he still frowning?
"D..Donovan... is something wrong?" Turning in her a seat a little so she could look at him better, tired green eyes watched him. Was... was he angry? If that was the case, what was he angry about? Did someone upset him on the farm today, or did she do something bad? Looking down as she thought quietly to herself, her brows furrowed in deep thought, the gem soon stopped as her head began to ache. Frowning and rubbing her head, she thought back to earlier today... she had wanted to talk to him but she didn't know if she should, but she knew that she had to talk to him. "Do you like those two girls from earlier today?" Frowning deeper and playing with the end of her shirt, Tori looked down at her lap. "You were letting them touch you and it made me feel... weird... I didn't want them to touch and be close to you.." Her eyes darkened in color again at the thought.

She didn't want to think about it anymore so letting out a sigh and shaking her head, Tori looked out her window, remaining quiet for the rest of the ride. Once the pair made it back to their cozy little cottage, Tori opened her door, ready to get out and hide in her room. Taking a step out, holding tightly to the door to gain her balance, the gem was determined to get in her room. Looking back at the protector, Tori frowned at his dark eyes and the frown still playing on his lips. He was still being quiet...
"I'll be okay so you can go back to work if you want too..." The emerald mistress couldn't help but wonder if she would be in trouble for leaving early and she hoped that they wouldn't make her quit. Looking back at him, the young woman looked towards the door and slowly started making her way towards it. She just needed to get to bed and sleep until she felt better... then when she woke up maybe Donovan would be in a better mood.

Donavon
User Image Heart rate elevated and a frown on his lips. Oh yes, for the fighter this was showing a great amount of emotions. Yet soon as those emerald eyes opened to him Donavon could feel himself breath again. The fighter hadn't really known he had been holding it really. It was true though that Donavon did not know what he would do if the girl hadn't came to. The small gem of a mistress was his entire world. Holding her limp body in his arms while being helpless to change it was his greatest fear. He was her protector, was he not? His soul purpose for living was to make sure she was safe. Safe for Donavon included her being healthy. Now it seemed he had failed her in that. Or maybe it seemed he was made at her for not taking care of herself as well. For whatever the reason the frown stayed on his lips as he was told to take the girl home. It stayed as he carrier her light body against him as he made his quick way to the work truck. It remained as he put the girl in the car before getting in himself.

Quickly Donavon had used one hand to put the seat in to the right position so he could sit comfortably while the other turned on the truck. With a roar the truck came to life; the coal haired male threw it into gear. Yes, it was a bit of a rough movement yet the vehicle moved with out a hitch. They were out of the parking area and out of the road in a flash. At first hum of the truck speeding down the road was the only sound that could be heard in the cabin. The stoic protector was usually pretty quite but this time he was being deliberate about it. His breathing was deliberate too. In and out. In and out. Just trying to keep it steady. Donavon didn't want to huff even though he wanted to... Really bad. It was clear that he was still angry.
How could I let this happen? Donavon thought a moment before the soft tones of the mistress came to his ears.

The protector looked away from the road towards Tori. It was a was meant to be just a quick glance; after all he was driving. Green eyes staring at him caused Donavon to look at her a little longer than just a quick glance. She looked so concerned. Her questioned burned him. How could he explain why he was upset? He wasn't sure exactly why he was. Was he upset with her for this morning? Her leaving him here. Her not eating. Or was he more upset that he hadn't made sure she had gotten the care she needed? The more he thought about what had happened; the more he realized he could have prevented it.
I could have taken her something to eat. I didn't have to go for such a long run this morning. But why didn't she wait? Why didn't she even eat? These were the kind of thoughts he had circling in his head. Donavon had never before even been a little frustrated with the girl. Did she not realize how important it was to keep in good health? But that is my responsibility...So busy was the fighter in his own thought Donavon almost didn't catch the next question that came out of her mouth. It was a question that he could answer and he was about to when she continued to talk. Deep blue eyes widened just the smallest bit her words silencing him once more.

Luckily there wasn't too much more to their quiet drive. Soon enough Donavon had pulled them into their driver way. Placing the truck in park, the fighter let out a bit of huff. There he had brought her home. Here he could keep Tori safe. Here he could make her feel better. Donavon was about to speak to her when the gem opened her own door and started to leave. Dark blue eyes watched the emerald stagger out of the truck causing his stomach to turn softly. The frown was indeed still on his lips.
Why is she so weak? Was all Donavon was all that was his head as he left the truck. Screw going back to work! He needed to take care of his mistress. Tori was always number one.

The emerald lass hadn't even gotten a few wobbly steps before Donavon was next to her.
"Tori," was all that he said before he bent quickly and easily picking her up. She was so light. Before today it had been a while since he had held the girl in his arms. The fighter had to admit he was a little surprised that her mature body was as light as it was. What the guard didn't know how to admit to was how good it felt to have her there. Then again, the coal haired male had more pressing matters to attend to. For starters Donavon needed to get Tori inside. Holding her close to him, Donavon made sure he wasn't crushing though, they made their quick way to the front door. Even with Tori in his arms Donavon was able to get the door opened pretty quickly. Kicking the door closed behind him, Donavon looked around the room a little. Where should he take her now? Looking down to Tori the guard opened his mouth to speak.

"I don't like those girls." Donavon blinked a little at his own words not sure why he had said that. The blue eyes seemed squint a little in confusion. Though it was the easiest thing he had wanted to say earlier. It could have been that he wanted to clear that up. It seemed to upset her. She was his mistress whether the collar was still on him or not. Was she could be afraid of him going to work for them? To keep his mind away from what he just admited, Donavon started towards the stairs. "Your room?"

The small female was going to go straight to her room to take a nap once she got inside, hoping that by the time that Donovan had gotten off of work, he would be in a better mood and that she would feel much better than she was right now. Looking towards the door, expecting the man to get back into the truck and go back to the farm, the emerald let out a soft gasp as her protector walked over and scooped her back up into his arms. Sighing softly her body turned as small fingers curled into his shirt. Putting her face against his chest, she nuzzled him slightly as she closed her eyes and breathed in his scent. Sighing softly, Tori relaxed against him, perfectly content to stay where she was at. She had missed being this close to him, to be able to feel the heat from his body, and his smell that always seemed to calm her down and feel at ease. Curling up more against him as he walked to their front door, Tori inhaled a deep breath as he moved inside, shutting the door behind them. With her eyes closed, her other senses seemed to take over such as scents and sounds. She could hear his footsteps on the wooden floor was they walked into the living room.

Feeling Donovan come to a stop caused her to open her eyes and look up at him. She knew that he would have to put her down eventually, but the gem wanted him to hold her for as long as possible. In his arms was the place that she had wanted to be the most. Opening her mouth so she could tell him that he could put her down, green eyes widened at his words before softening as a relieved expression appeared on her face. So Donovan didn't like them after all? Smiling and wrapping her arms around his neck, her chest pressed against his, as she nuzzled his neck. That made her feel so much better. The cloudy and dark feelings in her mind and heart disappeared but, some still lingered whenever she thought about those women touching him.
"So.. Donovan doesn't want to hug and kiss them?" Hopeful green eyes looked up at him before nodding her head when he asked about her room. "I think that a nap would make me feel better..."

What the young woman really needed was food, but the gem still didn't feel up for eating. Closing her eyes and resting her head against the strong, warm chest, Tori began to listen to the steady heartbeat of her protector. Sighing deeply she relaxed even more against him, even nuzzling his chest as she began to doze in his arms. Hearing him mention her room, the gem only nodded her head in agreement, knowing there was no reason to speak. Hearing Donovan's footsteps, Tori was starting to fall asleep, wanting nothing more to fall asleep in the safety of his arms. When they had finally reached her room, and the man had laid her down on the soft, comfortable mattress, emerald green eyes opened as she reached out to grab his hand. She didn't want him to go! A small frown appeared on her lips as green eyes searched those crystal blue ones, trying to see if she could find any anger still swelling within them.
"Will you stay here with me... just until I fall asleep?" Scooting over to make room for the rather larger man, Tori looked up at him, hoping that he would lay down with her.
