The chieftan had left to Learnania and hasn't returned. Kalilah, one of his righthand man--er..woman..girl...whatever had been sitting quietly, watching ]over the other tribesman. She sat in her tent on her knees, Wo Dao next to her as she quietly cleared her mind for anything to come. It was something their tribe did if they feel anything was going to happen. Or at least..that was what her mother did. The swordswoman took in a deep breath, closing her eyes for a moment and slowly exhaled. "We're under attack!" Kalilah shot open her eyes as she heard the sudden alarm. She picked up the sword next to her and dashed out of her tent as the flap flew open. Wasting no time, she drew her sword and ran to aid a couple of children that had tripped over their own feet, deflecting a couple of arrows that came their way. She turned to the children. "What are you waiting for? He said evacuate, did he not? So go!"
She turned back to the enemy and simply cracked a cheerful smile. "S'not like we're amateurs at this. Do they really think we're so....Oh what's the word. Weak??" The Wo dao in her hand, spun against her palm, deflecting a few more arrows before striking down skeleton that was in her face. Well that wasn't very nice! Kalilah leaped back, readied her sword and striked the head at an angle. They just needed to hold off long enough, right? Shouldn't be a problem..for now at the very least.

Azoth the Verdant FlashSlowly rising from the grass where he was taking a nap Azoth mumbled under something under his breath about armies being inconsiderate of his napping schedule. He then buckled his sword belt and drew his Killing Edge and charged the nearest skeleton. He cut it in half at the hip before moving on to strike down the others.

The skeleton archers ignited their arrows and fired them at the gers, setting them aflame. There was no time to save the dwellings, the people had to get out. It was a loss they had to accept given the circumstance. Dwellings can be rebuilt after all, but lives are sacred. The skeleton soldiers quickly began to swarm the encampment. They were numerous, but easily dealt with, though their numbers could easily overcome the overzealous. The fast actions of the tribesmen managed to get those of them who weren't fighters out of the encampment and on their way to safety. The fighters could now focus more of their enemy than on protecting the others. A group of sword wielding skeleton soldiers came for Azoth, who seemed to be in the front lines, without much help. Over by Kalilah, some spear wielding ones came for her while an archer fired from the distance.

Azoth the Verdant FlashAzoth was slowly pushed back by the group of skeletons that came after him, his Killing Edge carving a whirlwind through the air around him as he defended himself from the onslaught. His sword would periodically flash out of it's defensive pattern and strike a skull or limb from a skeleton. "Kalilah! I'm holding these things off pretty well but that's the most I can do on my own! We need to meet up so we can hold out till the rest of the warriors can get here!" With that he decapitated two skeletons with one swing and jumped backwards, rolling backwards and back into a crouch. During his his leap one of the skeletons had managed to give him a long, shallow cut on his right forearm. He grabbed a Vulenary from his belt and took a swig. He shivered as the cut began to close.

Azoth was good, but he wasn't THAT good. The fact that he drove himself out further toward the frontlines was a risk that the swordmistress didn't think her own comrad had intended on doing. So of course they wouldn't be able to hold them off. Luckly for the two warriors, they weren't alone in driving back the skeletons but they were definlently in a pinch if it kept up at this pace. Azoth suggested they move in close to back one another up, seemed like a good idea...but the problem with that plan was...there was skeleton soldiers all around them. Clearing them out quickly to get to each other would prove to be a problem. Still however, worth a shot.
"Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrighto!" Kalilah shouted, giving him back a thumbs up as she spun to her left to avoid a spear that came toward her. She gripped both hands on the hilt of her sword, stabbed the chest and quickly pulled her sword upwards, making a quick clean cut through the bones of the torso and skull. Forgetting about the archers for a quick moment, Kalilah turned around and stepped to the side just in time as a few arrows grazed her hair and cheek. Nothing too serious but advancing forward toward them was a large risk. But standing around taking care of the close range ones were pretty dangerous as well. There were way too many archers and if they killed em, more would certainly come. She noticed a few other tribesman approaching the enemies and there enough to hold them off. That was good, they got themselves armed and ready to defend.
The swordmistress gripped her sheath and pulled it off her belt, using it as a secondary blunt weapon. "Archers! The archers! Take them out!!" Kalilah shouted as she approached two spear wielding skeletons stood in her way. Kalilah lifted her left hand and slammed the sheath against the enemy's skull, cracking it before it shattered completely. Next was the second one which was a little behind her first target. The wo dao in her hand raised to her shoulders and she thrusted her sword through the center of the skull.

Ferociously through the plains, Songhua rode, urging his steed to discover a new level of speed. It was a ways to his tribe, but he knew he could make it. He just hoped it wouldn't be too late. He had confidence in his tribe, though; they weren't weak or easily subdued by surprise. They could hold out. Even still, Songhua worried. He had seen the size of Shamir's army in his crystal ball and knew that the sheer size of it could bring about devastation. The tribe wouldn't be able to route their enemy, they had to get away.
Eventually, as the chieftain neared his encampment, he could see the fighting up ahead. All the gers were aflame, but his people were fighting back with all their might. Their tenacity made him proud. Now Songhua had to do his part.
At high velocity, Songhua charged into the advancing skeleton army, swinging his sword on his left, followed by his right. Bones scattered all around him, both from his sword swiped and his horse trampling the ones in front. The chieftain flowed through the army like a river, washing away the filth that stood against the tribe. Many skeletons fell to him, but a large number remained still, even as he galloped all the way through the mass and arrived up to where his tribesmen were fighting. As he turned and beheld what still advanced upon them, he shook his head in disbelief. "Such vile summoning... to think he could command an army of this number..." He lifted his sword up into the air for all his tribesmen to see. "Fight with courage, brothers! Fight like plainsmen!!"
His attention was caught by a few charging for Kalilah, who was already preoccupied. Songhua arrowed his eyes and galloped towards them, dismantling them with a few slashes. He then looked to Kalilah and grinned. "Sorry I'm late! I had a little scuffle with Elder Shamir and one of his peons..." He thought back to his fight with Ishtur, realizing how lucky he was to have gotten out of there alive. "Have all the women, children and elders been evacuated yet? We need to fall back soon, this is not a fight we are able to win."

Boy, there was absolutely no end to these skelly monsters. She'd been fending off a majority of them on her own, what with Azoth out doing his thing as well, Kalilah completely lost track of where some people where. The people were evacuated though, some of the childrens even lagged a few feet behind to make sure the elderly got away. So brave, they'll become wonderful fighters if they so wished. That was a definite plus on their side and hey! Look who decided to join the party!
The swordmistress spun on her feet, directing her attention to their one and only, Chief Songhua. "Chiefy! Nice to know you're galloping your way in the battle!" saying all nice and perky as she back-handed an undead right in the face. That out of the way, she turned back to Songhua, hand on her head like she was saluting him. "Yes'siiiir! Everybody has been evacuated and are all accounted for! Azoth and I made sure they all got away safely. Its just a matter of time before we do the same!"

"I see, well done!" Songhua replied. "We've given them a considerable amount of time to get away, so now it's time for the rest of us to go."
Slashing at a skeleton soldier, Songhua galloped over where all his tribesmen could hear. "Fall back! To the caves!" He swung his blade at two more skeletons. "We cannot route them here! Go now!"
With his fighters pulling out, he rode back over to Kalilah, subduing several more skeletons along the way. "Kalilah, aid me in giving them time to get away! We'll fight them to- look out!" Seeing an archer taking aim at Kalilah and firing, Songhua urged his horse forward to block his comrade. He grit his teeth as he growled from the pain of the new arrow in his shoulder. "This is nothing..." He said, pointing to the other arrow that was already in his side from before he even arrived on the battlefield. "Fight on...!" Songhua directed his sword forward. He shook his head and grunted as he held his head for a second, but dismissed it and rode forth to give his tribesman time to get away.

Time to run? Time to run! If the chief said so then it was obviously time to go! Before she could even move though, her guard was let down for just a moment..and that moment was used to give the enemy a chance to fire at her. Kalilah gasped when Songhua suddenly blocked the attack, taking the damage in her place.
Wha-Hey! If anybody was going to let their people get to safety it was their chief! She should be doing the fighting to buy them some time! "Hey hey!" the swordmistress pouted. Don't just suddenly up and leave her behind! C'MON NOW!! Pouting and whining, stomping her foot in the dirt before she ran after her leader. No way was she leaving him out on the battlefield alone, especially with that arrow to his shoulder!
She took a huge leap forward and smashed her boots right at the chest of an undead that was coming toward Songhua, knocking the thing waaaay back to where it came from...or at least a few feet away. She stumbled, tumbling toward the ground before rolling and standing up straight again. "Hoi!" Well, that was a bit of a doozy, now wasn't it? "Don't push yourself, chiefy! Especially with that arrow you took for me."

"Hwaaa!" Shouted Songhua, as he dispatched a skull from the rest of the skeleton. "I'm fine, so long as I have support from comrades like you!"
Just then, a pair on nomads rode up to Songhua with bows in hand and began firing on the skeletons. "I gave the order to pull back!" Songhua shouted to them.
"Indeed, Chieftain, but we cannot leave holding off the enemy to just the two of you. You're too important!" one of them said.
"...I see. Thank you." Songhua replied. Together with the help of his three tribesmen, many skeletons fell to the ground. Songhua's sword was as swift and fluid as ever.
However, as he was fighting, dizziness overcame him from Ishtur's poisoned arrow and he had trouble seeing straight. With his guard dropped, a skeleton soldier took the opportunity to strike his side with a spear. Songhua shouted in pain and then cut the skeleton down. He dropped his sword and held his side. "Not... yet...!"
"Chieftain!" One of the nomads moved in front of him while the other grabbed the reigns of his horse to pull away from the battle.
"Wait...!" gasped Songhua. Barely able to keep consciousness, Songhua pulled out a rolled up map and held it out for Kalilah. "You must... get help. Go to where it's circled here... Rath will be waiting...!" After he made sure the map got into her hands, Songhua closed his eyes and fell limp upon his horse. The two nomads then galloped off, leading Songhua's horse with them, urging Kalilah to hurry away as well.

Hey look! Reinforcements of their own! Good thing too cause chiefy here was injured! They could use all the help to buy time for the others to get away. Sadly, the good news needed to end...knew that arrow wound was bad news! The other tribesman that were with them suggested they retreat. Good thing too, cause they needed Chieftan here alive! It was about time they got back to their people anyhow, they've drawn enough attention to buy them time to get away.
Although, it seems as though she was going to have to go alone from here on out. Kalilah blinked, but before she could even say anything, Songhua held out a map, ordering the swordmistress to go and meet up with Rath in his place as well as request for help. Wait, WHAT? HER? "Wha-Chief--ah..he's gone.." Well that really didn't give her much of an option besides comply. Kalilah rubbed her head, better get a move on. The sword was tucked away in her sheath and strapped to the side of her waist. She took one look at the map before sprinting off in the direction given.
