History: Born and raised in Hell Kitchen. Fury joined the US army and saw heavy fighting throughout Africa and Europe during WW2. During that time he lead a squad of troops known as The Howling Commandos and the unit had a near perfect operational record, having conducted numerous high risk operations for the OSS. It was during these years that two serious injuries were suffered in the line of duty. First was a clump of grenade shrapnel that caused excessive damage to his left eye, causing his vision in that eye to slowly degrade, leading to his adoption of an eye-patch. The second was a line mine accident that lead to his first being given the Infinity Formula.
Following the war Fury was recruited by the CIA, where took part in several covert operations in North Korea, even seeing a reunion with his old unit for one last operation before the war ended.
In the early 60's he was contacted by the UN to head the newly minted agency SHEILD, where he has held the post since.
