Why does he/she want to be a Courier?: Because she'll relish the challenge! Although she may take that a little literally and refuse to give up on messages: "What, I can't deliver a message? I will die but the message will be delivered." *Cough* Yes, she's a bit determined! She's also really proficient at getting through muddy areas, so being a Tracker of hard-to-reach areas could be her thing. Or something.
How is she/he suited to being a Courier?: Her determined and unrelenting attitude, what she looses in speed she makes up for in sheer, non-stopping power.
About where (geographically in the Swamp) would he/she serve?: Most likely in the North, because she wishes to meet Totoma.
