xxxPersonality: Despite her young age, Yulia is a very focused little girl. Her family have instilled values like self-discipline and astute focus from a young age, in accordance to their careers as street performers. Yulia can keep her attention on a single activity or thought for hours, which has been helpful in her daily training in acrobatics and gymnastics, and also in her homeschooling. She genuinely enjoys her family's career as a street performer and fully intends on staying on this path in her life.

Yulia is a polite girl, always good at knowing how to please a crowd, and comfortable around large groups. She's friendly to everyone she meets, and can find it hard to harbor grudges towards people, knowing she'll likely never meet them again anyway. Yulia Lei is brave and confident, at home in crowds, and never faltering from the stare of a hundred people! She adores it, in fact. She's adventurous, and likes trying out new tricks that may be a bit reckless while she's on her unicycle, such as juggling while she rides. She aspires to compete in the Olympics one day, like her mother.

The brown-eyed girl is a perfectionist, never happy with herself unless she performs perfectly, though she knows how to ad-lib a slip of the hand into another graceful move! She always gets upset after the show when she makes mistakes like that, and can be a bit detrimental to herself and practice for hours on end to make up for it.

Surprisingly, Yulia is actually quite selfish, she strongly feels her needs are more important than the needs of others. She wants to stay in one place, rather than move around, even though her parents need to move to generate their incomes. She Yulia quite frequently throws tantrums when her parents tell her she can't do something she wants to do, such as see a movie or get a pet dog. The youngest of four, Yulia has been babied a bit by both her parents and her older siblings, and this has left her with a sense of entitlement, which only further motivates her to be so selfish and demanding of her family, despite everyone's hard work.

Yulia is also a very wasteful person, and she spends lots of money on junk food and sweets and things she doesn't really need, rather than letting her parents take care of her money. She doesn't have a good grasp on economics and overspends her money frequently. She can make $50 a day easily on a good day, though she only will give her parents half of the money she makes, sometimes less if she made a lot. Yulia will be dishonest so that she can keep her money, rationalizing it to herself that it is her money so why shouldn't she keep some?

Yulia is rather competitive, always wanting to be a star in the show like her brother and sisters, and can be quite vicious when she wants to win something. She's a sore loser, and has trouble handling failure in her life or performances. If she doesn't make any money at all when she goes out on the streets, she thinks it's because she did something wrong, and that next time she has to do better. She tries to make it up to herself by practicing extra hard.

As a perfectionist, Yulia spends a lot of time making sure she looks good before she goes out to perform. She's very proud of herself, and wants to be an attractive performer so she shines the very brightest when she does her amazing acts! While not arrogant, she is rather focused on her own appearance. She can be rather vain and go to great lengths to ensure she looks good, even hogging the mirrors of the motor home in the mornings.

While Yulia is quick to let go ill-thoughts and grudges, she holds onto friendships like she's drowning and they're a lifeline. She is the kind of girl to cling desperately to any friends she makes, as she keeps so few of the friends she's made over the years with the frequent moves and with her overbearing handle of her friendships, so Yulia frequently feels rather lonely.

Yulia doesn't have much time for hobbies, with things that might be considered hobbies being her career of sorts. She mainly plays the part of a rhythmic gymnast for her family's traveling circus, with current focus being on hooping. She's very flexible and graceful, easily slipping in and out of her hoops. While she has been taught use of the ball, club, ribbon and rope, she's focusing on learning to perfect the art of the hoop first, her favorite. As a rhythmic dancer, she incorporates many parts of different dance and gymnastic styles, such as ballet and manipulation of her props.
She's also an avid unicyclist, though this isn't used in her family's performances, but rather her own personal ones she does on the street. She often blends mild hooping in with her acts while unicycling, to get the extra practice in. She mainly does her performances at parks, and that's where she generates her income.

xxxAppearance: Yulia has light skin, though not the pasty pale of her Russian mother, more implying her father's Asian heritage.
Her hair is a thick, wavy brown, with bangs and little curls in it, often worn up in a small ponytail with a flower or two. Her eyes are a rich chocolate brown, framed by long lashes, with round eyebrows. She wears comfortable clothing, mostly in browns or mint/teal, though she's not abject to other colors should the mood take her. Her favorite outfit, and the one she often wears out to do street performance, is a brown shirt with a teal, buttoned romper that has puffy shorts, orange stockings, and little brown boots. Yulia often paints her nails, since her performances draw attention to her hands.

xxxHistory: Yulia's parents met at the Olympics in Moscow in 1980, where her mother, then Katerina Barsukova, was participating. Bolin Lei, a member of a family circus, watched her perform her beautiful rhythmic gymnastic feats, and found himself talking to Katerina the day after in a local restaurant, asking her to work with his family and their traveling circus. The two spent many long hours working together and fell in love. As the day came that the Leis would be moving on to the next city, Bolin asked if Katerina would join him permanently, and she agreed, ready to leave the Olympics to do something new, and entertaining others was a dream of hers. Eventually, the two got married, and moved to America to start their own family circus.
The Leis bought a motor home so they could comfortable travel with their young children while they performed for money, teaming up with other circus groups until they felt confident to perform with their children alone.
Katerina taught all of her children how to be flexible from a young age, while Bolin would teach his children his skills in entertaining. Yulia was quick to follow her mother's path in rhythmic gymnastics, and so she was taught all her mother knows about hooping. Katerina shared many of her favorite moves with her child, in hopes she would someday wish to perform for the Olympics as she did. Yulia feels most close with her mother from all the lessons they did together. Her father taught her unicycling, as he did with all of his children.
During the winter months when business would slow down the most, her family would often settle down to get part time or temporary jobs in the area. When this would happen, Yulia often found friendship with local children, sometimes very good friendships. However, as spring began and the time for performing came again, Yulia would be forced to leave her friends behind as she moved across the country. Only when her parents continuously made good money would they stay performing in one area for very long during the spring and summer months.
Yulia finds herself increasingly frustrated with her parents and her lifestyle with each move and lost friend, despite her love of the thing itself. She wants to stay to play with her friends for a while, so she doesn't feel so alone.

xxxFamily:
Mother - 50 - Katerina Lei Katerina is a woman who adores the spotlight, and even as a young girl she had ambitions to be famous and well-known. Though that never happened, she loves her husband and her family, and would do anything for them. She's not as limber as she once was, though she's still plenty skilled to have shown her own children how to be gymnasts like herself, and still perform with her family. She is the one who homeschools Yulia and her sister Daiyu.

Father - 51 - Bolin Lei Bolin is a multi-talented man who does mostly Chinese circus-acts. He is a strict teacher but a loving father, and he's incredibly proud of his children, and hopes they will continue the path of the performer. He is a cyclist who does balancing acts, as well as a firebreather. He occasionally does the Dancing Lion act with his son, Gen.

Brother - 24 - Gen Lei Gen is the oldest Lei child, and has a lot of the responsibility in managing his younger siblings as well as his own acts. He's a jokester and a very laid-back man, having no issue with playing the clown at performances. He often does contortion acts with Vera, as well as the Dancing Lion act with his father.

Sister - 19 - Vera Lei Vera is a kind woman, with an eye for the spotlight like her mother. She's quite flexible, so she does contortion acts with Gen, as well as dancing for the crowd. She can juggle, though she prefers to dance and look nice at the center of the stage.

Sister - 16 - Daiyu Lei Daiyu is the only sibling of Yulia's that is still school-age, but she did not inherit her mother's flexibility or her father's balance, so she does not often perform the same feats of her siblings. While this does make her feel inadequate sometimes, she channels herself into taking care of the music for the show, and has taken up learning firebreathing from her father. She sometimes joins Yulia in street-performing, where her siblings don't perform outside the show.

xxxHome Life: Yulia's motorhome is large, but gets crowded before shows as everyone scrambles to use the bathrooms to get dressed, put make up and costumes on, and overall just get ready. At night, it becomes quiet as her family settles down for the night to sleep.
There are four beds, a queen sized one in the 'master bedroom', where her parents sleep together, a full sized one that pulls out of the couch which is where Yulia sleeps with her sister Daiyu, the little dinnette that turns into a twin bed where Vera sleeps, and lastly, a cabover bunk where Yulia's brother sleeps.
There is a mini-kitchen with two stove-tops and a single oven, a sink and cupboards for their dishes, as well as a microwave and fridge. There's a small eating area across from the kitchenette, that seats them all, albeit a bit cramped now that everyone (or almost everyone) is an adult.
There is a bathroom with a toilet and shower, and another sink. It's small, but is easy enough to navigate in. It has a cupboard with a mirror where toothpaste and soap is kept.
The master bedroom has two dressers where everyone keeps their drawers of clothing and personal possessions, and a wardrobe where the costumes and props are kept. Yulia keeps a box of her favorite things in the drawer, usually sweets and the few toys she has.

However, during the fall season Yulia's parents have rented a small apartment in Teufel Town, to stay in until spring arrives so they can find a new place to perform in. The apartment is in the residential district, and pre-furnished as the Leis have no real furniture of their own. It's small, only two bedrooms, one for the girls to share and the other for Yulia's parents, with Gen sleeping in the living room.
As it is pre-furnished, and only temporary, it's rather bare save for the few personal belongings brought in from the Motorhome, such as blankets and clothing. Yulia's new apartment is close to the business district, so that her older siblings and parents can easily get to their new temp jobs. Yulia likes to take the trains to the park to perform in.
