YOUNG GIRL
Name: Viveka Novosi x x x x x xViv, Vivi, Vi is unacceptable Color: #A50301, Rabbit Eyes Age: 15 Nationality: American Home/Financial Status: Lower end of middle class School: Teufel High School
Personality: Viveka is determined that she is and will be herself and she doesn't need anyone's help. She tells herself that in the mirror every morning. However, Viveka is very needy. She loves the approval of others and tends to latch onto people who like her magic tricks, frequently becoming annoying and overbearing because she wants to show them more so that they will continue approving of her. She's convinced her Papa is famous magician so she wants to be just like him - that means people have to like her tricks and she has to know how to do lots, so she wants to showcase them all the time. She's easily swayed by the opinions of others and is constantly modifying the way she behaves so that she will fit in with her friends and be very well liked. She willingly sacrifices her own voice, refusing to speak up against things she knows is wrong because it might rock the boat she's so carefully made.
Viv tends to be a very happy girl, always having a laugh or smile to share with her friends, and wishes to be a magician like her Papa so that she can make lots of people smile with her tricks. She happens to be a bit delusional, refusing to acknowledge that she has very little skill in the art of illusion, even though she frequently tends to mess up anything beyond (and sometimes including) card tricks. In her mind, the world is a happy, bubbly place, and Viveka always takes it hard when some cruelty of the world displays itself and shatters her fragile little bubble.
In her heart of hearts, Viveka knows she is terrible at magic. She knows her Papa isn't famous and that her parents split a long time ago because her Papa couldn't grow up and handle a child; she knows that, thus, it is her fault her Mama and Papa aren't together anymore, even though they love each other still. She knows that Papa would like to come visit her but Mama doesn't want him to, as she fears what kind of nonsense they'd get into if left alone, a teenage girl and her five year old father. It hurts, but lots of things hurt. Viveka doesn't want to live in the painful past, which serves to accomplish everything but make sure that Viveka lives the life she wants to live, so she formulated the made up world that she now lives in, a world made by bending slight truths, and she is very happy there. A contrast to her usually bubbly, smily, and giggly nature, Viveka becomes very defensive if her Papa is mentioned beyond a simple question (because it's hard to make up a lie about where her father works or why he's there so long) and tends to quiet down and refuse to talk if they don't get the hint and leave it alone after she asks them to or repeatedly changes the topic.
Despite not having a whole lot, her default setting is to be generous. She wants to please other people, so she's happy to give up what she has if she thinks it'll make one of her friends happier. She knows what it's like to not have a whole lot (her mother is a single mother and her father, though he sends what he can, is not exceedingly helpful) and doesn't want others to be that way. While there are things she would never part with, like gifts from her Papa, she's very likely to give up food, small amounts of money, and other small trinkets to a friend who just asks.
Appearance: An average girl at about 5' tall and about 110 lbs, there is nothing particularly attention grabbing about Viveka. Due to her want to be a magician, she tends to dress in one, frequently choosing "boyish" clothes instead of girly things like dresses, much to her mother's dismay (and when she does wear things like skirts, they tend to be old fashioned).
History: Tamislav was a good man who loved his daughter. Throughout Ilinka's pregnancy, he constantly bought and prepared things for her, wanting to make sure that his child, male or female, would have the best. He worked a fairly low wage job, wanting to please Ilinka, though he knew his true love was magic. When Viveka was born, he wanted to be a good father. Wanted Viveka to give him that chubby little grin and bubbly laugh. He had.. less than stellar risk assessment, though, and frequently gave Ilinka heart attacks - throwing a baby into the air gently was one thing but Tamislav practically flung her. Driving the little child's car around was one thing, but slamming it into a wall because it amused Vi was another.
She told him very frankly - act like an adult, because Viveka needed a father, not a younger brother, or they would have to get divorced. Not because she didn't love him, because she still does love Tamislav, loves him so much, but because it was that or worry about their child's wellbeing at all hours. Like that, when Viveka was 6, her parents were divorced. Knowing that he wouldn't get to see her very frequently, he made up a story about going on a tour as a famous magician. At the time, she ate it up, believing it entirely, and became obsessed with the idea of seeing her father perform or becoming good enough that he'd notice her. From then on, her free time was spent learning magic... and annoying strangers with it.
From then on it was her and her Momma together, forever. Or, well, it would've been if it weren't for the fact that her mother was never around. Tamislav sent what money he could but a magician who specialised mostly in children's parties couldn't do a whole lot financially, so Ilinka repeatedly picked up jobs in hopes of making enough money to at least pay for her daughter to have a good life. Thus, as a bit of a latchkey kid, Viveka was no stranger to loneliness. She loved her mother and her mother loved her but their relationship was strained. They rarely saw each other, as Ilinka was frequently dead-tired when she came home. Viveka's contact with her mother was usually either them yelling at each other for something tiny Viveka did made huge in the scope of Ilinka's frustration and feelings of impotence and uselessness or whenever Viveka got scared enough to crawl into her mother's bedroom and snuggle into the warm safety of her momma's side.
And Ilinka got frustrated a lot. Because her parents were so busy trying to make a better life for Viveka in the future, they tended to ignore the Viv of the present. She craved attention, like every aspiring magician, but was at a loss for how to get it. She had school and kids her age there, and decided that was how she could get people to notice her. Too young to possess a lot of the dexterity, skill, and timing needed for magic tricks, her attempts at sleight of hand usually failed and she was usually regarded with incredulity. The idea that her father was a famous magician was dismissed. And while Vivi tried to put up with it with a smile and ignore people who tried to tell her her daddy wasn't as good as she thought he was, she could only take so much.
She picked fights and she picked fights and she picked fights. And whether she won or lost didn't really matter when she got home to face Ilinka's wrath and the a**-tanning she was sure to face, and she tried to explain to Ilinka again and again that she had to because they said bad things about Daddy but her mother wasn't listening. She didn't care why Viveka had screamed at the teacher, didn't care why Viveka had busted a little boy's lip open, she cared that Viveka was acting up and making them both look bad. As Vi matured, she realised that her fighting wasn't even really accomplishing what she wanted it to and was only sabotaging her own goals, since it was ostracizing her and no one wanted to speak to her any longer, and all it did was make her mother upset.
Vi made a 180 then, deciding that killing them with kindness and proving to them that she was a magician was the only way to do it. While, for awhile, she still recognised that this happiness was faked, it slowly became easier and easier to believe in it.
Family: Tamislav Novosi, father, 5 34, failed magician. Tami truly does love his daughter. Really, he does! He loves her more than anything and never wanted to do anything but make her smile.
Ilinka Novosi, mother, 35, retail manager. Ilinka works her hardest to make sure that Viveka has a good life. She's frequently not home and thus can't supervise her as much as she'd like, but when she is home, she can't help but wish that her daughter were just a smidge more... girly.

PUELLA MAGI
Language: Russian
Desires: To be a better magician. To see her Papa again. To be his assistant once more. These three things are very connected to her; if she were a better magician, she would possess the ability to travel, like he did for awhile, and she could find him and see him again. And while she may objectively realise that being a better magician would likely make her better than her father, she still doesn't want to upstage him. She doesn't want to be the headliner with her father's name tailing after, if it's ever mentioned at all. All she wants is to be his assistant - even if she's the one who carries the tricks. Even if she's the one who does it all. She wants her father to get the recognition he deserves.
Emblem: Bowtie
Weapon: Firecrackers
Type of Magic: Invisibility. She can affect a small area around her - but the most reliable way to become invisible with Vivi is to either hug her or hold her hand. Bringing other people with her tires her out, though, and if they don't remain in contact, then after a limited amount of time (maybe growing as she grows stronger?) they'll reappear. It drains her mentally to be invisible, since she has to concentrate on her presence not being noticed, the same way a magician has to concentrate on sleight of hand. By herself, she can last a minute or maybe two, but much less if she's dragging someone with her and continuing the invisibility for them both, the same way a large trick is much harder to hide than a small one.

Russian, mmm... I like!
"Viveka is determined that she is and will be herself and she doesn't need anyone's help. She tells herself that in the mirror every morning.", sounds like the opposite of this, "She's easily swayed by the opinions of others and is constantly modifying the way she behaves so that she will fit in with her friends and be very well liked. She willingly sacrifices her own voice, refusing to speak up against things she knows is wrong because it might rock the boat she's so carefully made."
Other than that, her personality sounds good to me. It seems like this shop is full of broken girls who make me want to hug them all. Viveka is definitely one of them. I especially like the attention whore magician thing she has going on. It's believable and endearing.
I like her history and family too.
Her puella magi side sounds fine too.

what i meant is another clashing side of her character; she's determined she's a strong girl and doesn't need anyone's help but at the heart of it she's a pathetic child who just wants everyone to be her friend and is immensely hurt if someone doesn't like her. but i really didn't accomplish that so if you're at all able to, could you please give me a way i might be able to make this more clear? c: thank you for your time. u v u!
(viveka would take all your hugs. all of them.)

I think the, "she tells herself that in the mirror every morning," is a bit of a hint of her clashing nature. Maybe just clarify that that's how she wants to see herself, even though her fears of not fitting it won't let it be so?

I agree, I think you've got all the pieces in place for that, you just need to arrange them properly. Maybe just explain it flat out, it's always better to be direct about that sort of thing (especially when it's a clashing factor, otherwise it may seem unintentional).
For everything else, I think you're good, though I would like to see some areas fleshed out more. Her history is a good starting point, but I feel like I don't really get to know her from it, or her motivations, rather than just how her parents were while raising her. It almost seems to jump from when she was a very small child to the present, so I'd like to see some more of her young years at school maybe? How did she interact with others? Did she ever play pranks at school while trying to make it seem like magic? Did she ever get in trouble? Things like that, while they may seem small, will definitely help in shaping how she interacts with others.
Her Puella section, too, I might like to see expanded on, most specifically her Magic. Invisibility is a really cool magic, but what are its limitations? Can only she be invisible? Is she able to spread that invisibility to others? Is there a time limit? Will anything "knock her out" of her invisibility, like if her concentration is broken? The wording of the one sentence in regards to it is a bit redundant, as well.
I might like to see a little more in her desires. I like what's there, it just feels a little sparse. However, if there's literally nothing else she wants, then you can of course leave that alone c:
I can't wait for her to be finished and accepted, I want to RP with herrrrrrr
