Or 3rd party devs, for that matter. Eventually it'll turn into this. While it may be fun to play around as Sora, or Serge, or Master Chief, or whoever, it's not following Nintendo's original plan for a Nintendo-centric title. Plus there are WAY too many characters and it's just not cool after the first five minutes. I think Nintendo was doing a cool thing when they added Snake and Sonic, but that's only because they had/have titles on Nintendo systems, and they still dev'd the game in-house, they didn't get Namco-Bandai to. (Granted they used the Havok engine, and not a custom one like before.)

Anyway, I've rambled enough, what are your opinions on the matter?

I don't think having 3rd party characters is technically a BAD thing, as long as they don't go overboard with it. Just keep mostly Nintendo characters, and only 2 or 3 3rd party characters, as long as they have been on Nintendo systems at some time. Namco basically has taken 1 slot for the 3rd party characters, so the only question is: who else is gonna make it in?

In pokemon conquest, once your finished with the first chapter, you have to go through over 20 STORIES... AND THEYRE TAKING DAYS TO JUST FINISH... RAWR

im not even done with 5 lol

EDIT: i was looking at the link again... and i dont think more than a fifth of these characters would make it into an SSB game anyway. most of them are kinda useless

i was also looking at all the pokemon chars... i would love nintendo if they actually put groudon or giratina in this game lol

My point was that I'm not against good 3rd party characters, but I don't like it when they just sling in someone who doesn't fit. And I'm not into 3rd party devs, really at all, until they prove themselves worthy. (Sega working on F-Zero GX/AX worked really well, love that game.)
On the topic of Namco-Bandai characters, I'd say that if we're lucky it'll be a robot from Super Robot Taisen EX (EX is the only one I've extensively played, and I had it for the SNES in Japanese. Very hard to play.) We need a robot character. The only robot is ROB and he's a very poor fighter. They'll probably do someone from Soul Calibur though... (Does Link from SC2 on GC count? No? Too bad...)
Hopefully Nintendo'll add Raquaza as a support or - even better - playable character. He's my favorite Legendary.

I'm sure there are some people who would like a list like that sweatdrop I think the problem becomes they need to select characters who don't overlap too much. I'd like to see some more popular characters for fun so long as they keep my favorites. I think they'll know to keep it in check.
