The world had gone dull for her, not quickly just a moment at a time day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute.
She had noticed it when she was young, at first it seemed that she was just imagining things and shrugged it off as nothing. Then as she grew older she began to acknowledge it. How boring the world was, how saturated it was beginning to be. She....Shadow as she liked to call herself (she decided on her 12th birthday that it was a far cooler name than her lame name and truthfully she often felt like a shadow). Shadow began asking other children if this was normal and as far as she could discern it was, in fact, not. A effect of her odd questions people began to look at her weirdly but she did not mind as the other children often treated her as a oddball anyway.

The very next week she decided that she would in fact look for the color and she had no way of knowing where to start. No one would be able to direct her, no one would know what she meant. She looked into the mirror checking herself before she went. Her hair was White and went to the length of her hips, her ears kept low so other travelers wouldn't ask her questions. The were like her mothers long and white also reaching up a foot long similar to a dessert rabbits. Her eyes were a shade of vivid light blue and her skin was near white but had a bit of peach coloring to it. She was wearing a black tank top, faded blue jeans with holes in the knees and some jelly bracelets on her wrists.

Her parents didn't want her to go but they had no choice since she was now 25 well over the age to legally do as she pleased. They eventually realized she would not stay and gave up in defeat. They gave her money for her travels even though she had insisted many times that she had enough.

She looked back on her home. It was a grungy city small enough that you weren't sure if it really even was a city but it was just big enough to be so.
She wondered for a second if she would miss it before quickly deciding she knew she would not. She was not attached to it, it was a dull place full of dull people doing dull things. She sighed to herself hoping that she was doing the right thing and that she would find what she needed.

When shadow arrived it was small and quaint town all to itself. She looked around trying to find this star farm without bothering to ask anyone in town preferring to be let alone and only vaguely paying attention to them so she could be sure not to bump into anyone. Eventually she stood at the buildings door hesitating to go in a few minutes before giving into curiosity and opening the door. A woman stood at the counter. She had light purple hair with purple eyes to match and shadow thought it was odd but then again, she thought to herself, who am I to judge anyone as odd. She approached the counter not sure what to say or where even to start. She did not get the chance as the woman began speaking before she had collected her thoughts. She thought she must have looked stupid gaping at her. "Hello my name is Tara, welcome to my star farm " Then she looked as shadow seemingly assessing her and somehow not judging her at the same time. She put a finger to her lip and seemed to have decided something in her head that Shadow could not hear no matter how hard she stupidly tried. "Come Back tomorrow and I will have what you need". Shadow tried to ask her what she meant but was quickly routed to the door. When outside she decided to look for a motel to stay the night in and get some food in her stomach. She looked around this time noticing something different that she had ignored before. The people who were going about their business mostly had a animal or 2 with them and they were oddly colored, she contemplated asking someone about them but they seemed as unfocused on her as she had earlier been of them.
She went to find a motel and eventually found one, when she reached the clerk she finally asked about the animals since he was trapped in conversation with her until she payed him the money. He explained and it took well over an hour. After he was done she gave him the money and he gave her a key.
As she laid in bed she wondered if the woman was deciding if she could have the type of pet the clerk had described to her. She was curious now and went to sleep thinking of only tomorrow.

The next morning shadow awoke far to hungry. In her curiosity about the colorful animals she had completely forgotten her hunger and her stomach was erupting with hunger gurgling far to much. She wasn't sure where she would find a dinner but she did remember seeing a cafe' that she had passed and went there. The menu was small but her stomach would take anything right now so she got a chai latte and some scones. Finally full she was ready to go see Tara and see what it is that she planned to offer her or do for her. Again at the doors she hesitated, wondering if she really wanted to go in. Once again it seemed Tara had beat her to it and she herd from behind her "Oh! I didn't expect you to be hear so early" She said with a polite smile "Well then we have business to do!" and Tara ushered shadow into the shop.
While shadow waited for Tara to get whatever it was she was getting her she took the time to look around the shop. She found weird little bottles of all sorts of weird colors and colored corks too and shadow thought it was odd that she would bother having different colors for whatever she was putting in them.
When about ten minutes had passed she herd a sound behind her and turned to Tara carrying a tan cat that was adorned with gold Egyptian jewelery and golden ember eyes.
