iiTetshinji-Kun Strong Pokemon... Weak Pokemon... That is only the selfish perception of people... Okay, now we're face to face. Back on topic. Now that I see your meaning of longevity, I can address it better. Regarding the solar energy being used in addition to bending, I suppose we can leave that one to the Crew of the Guild, since they're final say. But, even if there was additional heat, all it would do is increase the power, not further the usage. If you remember Sozin's Comet, that comet didn't increase bending usage length or anything of the sorts, it just made the benders that much stronger. Regarding steam, I think the Water Benders would be able to get all of it out of there without much of a problem, and they could also freeze it, but that could be put up for further discussion. Air Benders would probably be an enemy to the steam force, though. Back to Metal Benders, I can see your point and understand it. I'm thinking that there would probably be some way that Metal Benders would be able to do something with platinum now, though, since it's been at least 1OO years since it was largely used against them. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win... With the Pokemon they love best. Yeah, I know about Sozin's comet, but this isn't Sozin's comet, its not suppose to be. If I was making something that powerful, the idea would be immediately rejected and for good reason. Its purpose is to trade some of the power increase for longer usage length, and the extra length isn't all that long. And yeah, a Water or Air bender could do what you say, but they still need to get pretty close from what I've seen. Every time I've seem them do something like that, they're within a few feet of the target, and if they're that close they've got the people around the armor to deal with first before they'd have time to, and even if those people were beaten, the person in the armor could still fight and distract them and from what I've seen they need to concentrate to be able to do those things, except for the freezing, which I think would be negated by the fact that the suit is producing a constant boiling amount of heat, aka the ice would instantly melt. As for the metal benders, if they have overcome that then that's a bit of a cheat. That would make metal bending a perfect art and therefore earth bending would have an unfair advantage over the other bending styles, so it wouldn't be fair. That inability to bend platinum should stay as is for the sake of balancing in the guild. And besides, metal bending only works by exploiting inperfections in metal, and platinum lacks those due to having no imperfections, or at least thats what the explaination is for why the metal benders couldn't bend it.

Strong Pokemon... Weak Pokemon... That is only the selfish perception of people... I wasn't implying it was Sozin's Comet, I was merely using it as a reference to the heat to bending ability that you're talking about. I was merely using it to say that, if the panels were to give additional anything, it would be bending strength, not longevity of bending. I don't believe it would take much concentration, actually. It's just another technique in water or air bending. All they're doing is what they usually do, but the target is merely in a different state. And I wasn't implying that freezing would completely shut it down, but it would stop the mechanics for a good deal of time, at least. The gears and mechanics would be prevented from moving or functioning for at least a bit of time before melting, and even then, the newly introduced water could cause malfunctions in the suit. Onto Metal Bending, i was never implying that they be able to bend platinum. I was merely saying that there might be a way around it, since platinum was clearly exploited as a major weakness against Metal Benders that 1OO or so years in the past. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win... With the Pokemon they love best.

And Im saying that the suit is suppose to do something different, and if the crew tells me it won't work then I'll agree, but until then we're done discussing it since we're just gonna keep going on and on about the process and nothing will get solved. As for the water bending, Katara specifically said that it takes more concentration to work on something they can't see, and guess what, since the tubes are inside of a metal suit, they can't see, unless they have x ray vision, and Im assuming a similar principle applies to airbending, since its function is very simililar to water bending. And no, since the ice would melt in only a couple seconds in boiling temperatures, it wouldnt harm the suit at all. And with the metal benders, you don't seem to understand the point of a weakness, its suppose to be used. The only way around platinum would be to bend it, and if that was possible I go back to my previous statement that we would then be making metal bending too powerful.

... Okay. Since the air nomads tend to be peaceful I think they shouldn't really have weaponry. Also with the water tribes, because it is so hard to utilize their skill sets with weaponry; they should just hold a strong grip on the worlds oceans. So basically imagine it is the Colonial period in the americas and the water tribe are the english forces. If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, basically england had sovereignty over the oceans and posessed an unparalleled naval force. Once again another post from my phone so please forgive me if I just butchered my american grammar.

...hmmm weapon, since I'm obviously the Submarine guy, and I keep getting yelled at for it maybe the fire nation could have a submarine that could double as a zeppelin, I'll draw up some schematics later, because I've always like the Fire Nations War Blimps TO DAMURO!!! and also, the fact that the Submarine can/will be a mixed crew of fire and water benders that could be some Water/Fire weapon/vehicle tech Sketched extremely fast with Deviant's Muro [wish I had a sketch tablet so bad T-T]

Yo, sorry to come in late to the weapons discussion. Time for very long posts and reading has been quite limited recently. Anyhow, I may have come up with an idea.
This weapon is far less a design for use in combat than it is to be used domestically, still a useful tool for war, though. Another contribution to the already popular fire tribe suggestions is a type of remote detonating bombs that rely on lightning bending.
In essence, what these would be, are metallic canisters filled with simple explosives, the metal easily conducts the lightning and the spark ignites the bomb. These can even be set up in a series connected by conductive wires. They can be used as either large explosives or small, strategic, stealthy weapons for demolition. Basically, you could have a lightning-triggered pipe bomb, or a series of compact explosives meant to collapse a structure by placing it at vital points.
It's nothing too special, just an idea I cooked up.

Hey, if this is still open for ideas, I've got two ideas for weapons of sorts for the ill-represented non-benders among us.
My first idea basically is a mechanical representation of a trick that Lin Befong and the metalbending police used. It would be a compact simple motor that could be worn on the wrist (it's possible the power source may need to be contained in a separate pack) that would be made to launch things. This could be modified by people, but the original intent is that it would launch a strong wire or cable to be used as a grappling hook. This cable could either have a pointed end to allow it to dig into things and either drag them over or create a makeshift zipline, or it could simply be a flexible wire shot to try and wrap around an object. This could also be combined with the equalist power glove technology and introduce a paralyzing shock to the target, if said target it human or a conductive substance.
My secondary idea is not so much a weapon as it is a prisoner control or torture device. Basically, a shock collar. One would put it on a person and it would deliver a shock to them, these can be varied in intensity (though given the technology in this world, that may require a switch to actually be attached to the collar and require close proximity to the wearer). If such a thing exists, this collar may even be able to be tuned to the "magic number" an intensity of shock strong enough to disrupt a bender's ability, but still leave them conscious and mobile.
Feel free to offer any improvements, questions, or criticisms on either of these ideas.
