Quote: Tsaheylu: Slinks out from the shadows in panther form and observes the strangers. Quote: Nokomis; -Catches eye of the stealthy Skinwalker. Though her eyes were not her best she had seen something move.- Foal, move towards me... -She beckons cautiously.-

Quote: Tsaheylu: "Oh but why shall it move towards you? I shall not bring harm to it" .... :: emerges from the bush :: "At least not yet." Quote: Nokomis; Now now Skinwalker... -She coaxes lightly, a merry tone hiding one of defense. Much like the motherly spirit she was, she would defend the foal, no matter the consequences.- You should not make such intentions so open. -She, unable to create any truly horrible feelings gave a terrible attempt at a glare.-

Quote: Tsaheylu: The panther merely flicked it's tail as the foal dashed away. His attention was now on the obviously pregnant mare. "Oh do forgive me for erring. I do apologize." Tsaheylu feigned surprise as the mare glared at him. "What could I have done to earn such a look from such a fine specimen like yourself?" Idly he inspected his claws before pawing forth a few paces. He knew not to get too close but the idea was to sow the idea that he was trustworthy. Then they'd learn his true nature.Quote: Nokomis; -Flattery? Nokomis was in absolute shock at that point. In all her days, and yes there were many, she had never met such a naive Skinwalker to mock her so.- You try and tempt an aged Angeni, Skinwalker ? -She gazes hard at the panther before her, the pelt was swirls of colors, almost like a butterfly, one who was not familiar with their species could almost mistake this one as friendly. Creation could be clever for some individuals.- Make your next move wisely. -Nokomis put herself between the foal and the monster.-

Quote: Tsaheylu: The panther watched the Angeni mare. For one as round as she was Tsaheylu could not help but wonder exactly how fast she could shift her bulk. The foal was hiding behind the obstacle that she created. He twitched his tail, lashing it from side to side. He didn't speak now. Cold, green eyes cast a knowing stare on the mare's form. Somewhere there would be a c***k in the defensive armor. He'd need to find and break through. A soft snarl passed through clenched teeth as he rose to all four paws. Hunger drove the instinct to attack but he knew to hang back. Observation was now key. The foal was obviously a weakness but how could he draw it out?Quote: Nokomis; -As much as she knew she was strong, her pregnancy had caused a large amount of energy to be used with such movements as before. The move may have been quick, but she was losing stamina and fast. Unfortunately she would not out last an outright fight with the beast, but she had forgotten how witty they could be, and intelligent. That was what happened when one got so used to simply seeing a monster, behind that skin is what would count in survival. While the panther remained silent Noko went into thought, but there was no possible safe way of escaping or saving any foal. She would have to continue talking her way through this.-

Quote: Tsaheylu: The panther whirled around to hear the other mare's words before blocking them out. He had more important things to do than rush into a battle with a half-thought out plan. The panther could sense the mare's flagging strength. Now was still not the time to act. Another contender had appeared to stand beside the Angeni. He made a tsking sound. "Two against one ... the odds do not appear to be in my favor today." The panther gave a dramatic sigh before shifting his weight. All his power began to shift towards his hindquarters. Outward he gave the impression of a beast that was backing down with his tail lying flat along the ground. He sighted on the pregnant Angeni again. The strange mare beside her was too strange a target. He only really wanted the foal though.Quote: Nokomis; -Alas it seemed luck was planted on her side, a mare, worn from battle, appeared seemingly from no where. No where or somewhere, she was there.- Unfortunately it seems they are. -She spoke in a proud, but relieved grace. Though the panther seemed to have back down she couldn't help but notice where their eyes went. The foal, whom she had assumed was securely behind her was the target.-

Quote: Tsaheylu: The panther noticed the Angeni's relief. Amateur move, letting down your guard. He rolled his shoulders once before canting his head to the side. Hunger clawed at his belly urging him to act. The tail that seemed so lifeless a moment ago began to twitch erratically. All the power was centered in his hindquarters and he used the coiled energy suddenly. His body shot off the ground and he focused his sights on the Angeni. Even if the move backfired, the claws he now extended might draw someone's blood. A snarl ripped from his throat. One way or another ... something was about to happen.tefla [[ I will tag in the morning dear~ Unfortunately I'm starting to get a headache ]8 ]]

Quote: Nokomis; -Moving away was a lost cause, the out-smarted Angeni stood frozen in a panic. Her belly bubbled as the foals, unborn foals, moved at the start of her heart racing. Would the attack throw her into labor? That slipped from her mind pretty quickly as the first claws came into contact. She turned her head instinctly, pushing her mighty wings against her abdomen to protect her precious cargo. Then the pain, flesh began to rip, tear and slice. Her beautiful, once fully intact pelt was slowly being blotted with a bright red.- Ahh ... !! -She proclaimed in agony, she turned rapidly to try and defend the foal -in the process she tried to lash out at the panther-, but she could not find him. Where had he gone! He probably ran off, smart move on his part, but now Noko found herself in a very unpleasant position. Injured, pregnant and alone in the midst of a Skinwalker attack.- Quote: Tsaheylu: The panther heard the mare's declaration of agony as he felt his claws catch and tear the mare's hide. Maybe luck was with him tonight. He landed on all fours as he turned to admire the his work. Of course the mare was still standing. He'd seen her pull in her wings before he'd struck. It was likely that move that protected her unborn children. He took in her frantic demeanor. The foal was at that moment forgotten. He'd drawn first blood this night. It had been a close call. He continued to eye the injured mare. "It seems that you find yourself with the odds now against you. What an interesting turn in fate, isn't it?"

Nokomis had indeed found herself hurt and weakened. Her energy rapidly depleted and she did all she could to remain standing. The last few days had been terrible to her body, even without a fight and need to move around. She would not risk the the lives of her children if the foal had already done what he should have in the first. She was just glad atleast one of them had come out of this safe.
For now her primary goal was distraction until she could build up her strength to fly where ever she could, and with the pains rolling through her she was worried it'd be her last flight before a shocked instilled birth. "It sure does seem that way..." As much as she wanted to breath heavy she tried her best to hold it back.
She already knew he figured out she was weak, but she had will power, that and her love for her family kept her absolutely strong. "I've done what I intended to do though. The foal is safe." She stated this very matter of factly, her mind drifted to an escape plan.

Tsaheylu prowled around the mare just out of reach of a lashing hoof. He remained tense though. The opening move had been a lucky strike. Luck did not always remain on his side for long. He narrowed his green eyes at the mare as she spoke. Surely that couldn't have been her only reason for the standoff. He gave a slight shake of his head. Now it was time to instill a little wisdom to the mare. "You risked your life and the lives of your children. That to me sounds selfish. You are depriving your mate of his children by interfering with nature. Why did you do this?"
As soon as he finished speaking the panther began to shift. When he was done he stood before her in his equine form. The wings marked him for what species he was before: that of a flutter. They were filled with color that continued onto his pelt. He seemed much larger than the mare as he once again make a circular transit around her. The blood that marked her hide almost drew him in but he refrained. "So tell me your reasons. Maybe it will buy you a little time."

"Nature..."
She smiled fondly at the word, blood soaked and sore, she couldn't help but relate to the word on every level. Her wings shifted slightly, now to defend some of the wounds and her belly, being an Angeni she had some perks of more fluffy wings to protect herself with.
"Nature and I have a way of.. getting intertwined. My family, the whole, would understand." She cooed softly. Her words a gentle whisper by the time he had changed. She stepped away, he was angled, but in front of her and grew rapidly. Nokomis had misjudged the poor creature. It was clearly a male now, the stallion was beautiful to look. Pelt seeming to glow a gentle hue of rainbow colors. His wings told the story of his past life as a flutter. It was all certainly depressing in a sense. Though she knew that the path was a choice.
"My name is Nokomis.." She said slowly, his words were that of an odd lust. She then realized the blood. "I am the Angeni of Mother Nature." Though this answered the vague question of her Motherly instinct it would not explain it and she chose to leave the stallion hanging.

Tsaheylu bit back his reply to Nokomis's statement. This lovely creature was an Angeni? One that was of Mother Nature no less? A slight smirk appeared on his face as he stood before her. The stallion's gaze kept trying to pierce the mare's wings. Hidden underneath them was the mark that she would bear from his claws. The scent of copper permeated the air and it was taking all his self control not to foolishly rush towards the mare again. She was now looking at him with a little bit of pity and Tsaheylu gave a low growl. Maybe he should attack her again just for that. The option to paint the ground around him red seemed appealing.
"Nokomis," he all but purred her name. "There is a name that slides off the tongue with ease. Tell me Nokomis ... do you feel sorry for me? I caught that brief look of despair on your lovely face."
The new plan was to distract the mare. It shouldn't be too hard to keep her busy while he began to move in closer. He'd get another scream from her. He craved it all of a sudden. If he could go for her wings then maybe he could ground the mare. It would make this a lot more interesting game then.

Sorry for him, that was surely an understatement. Before her stood a beast, more than likely by choice. But riding on assumptions often got foolish Soq hurt and so Noko kept her wits about her as best she could. The situation was a little hard to grasp with a full belly of foals and a wound that would take time to heal. She shifted her eyes and her wing, she couldn't see the wound itself, but the blood was splotched all over. It was not a favore sight.
When he spoke her name, she shuddered. His words were like poisoned honey, sweet, but hid a terrible nasty twang behind them. The tones of one others would avoid without hesitation. "I feel compassion for an individual stuck in a very poor life path." She stated boldly, she stood a little more proudly and bit back her fear. She was a mother now, not just of her precious Nature, but her foals, she had to think about her foals.
"Unfortunately I'm calling this session over.." She was talking nearly crazy, she had shifted her wings into a better position for flight, but her wound would make a take off a few times harder than it already would be in this case. All she could hope for was that she could possibly fly a greater distance, and that she turned out to appear more work than she was worth to the Skinwalker.
Without further ado, she took off. Her back ached and she cringed, but made no noise. Any noise would make the push greater for him to follow. As it was, she simply turned it into a game. Her wings beat and she was soon above the tree, she wanted to be higher, but had to settle. Not turning, not looking back she moved, as quickly as could be. It was still unsettling that the skinwalker had wings of his own, but she dared not look back to see if he was following. Fear would become real once more.

Tsaheylu watched as the mare took off. Idle eyes tracked Nokomis's progress in the air before sniffing disdainfully. He knew that he was no match to catch her in the air and so it was with a subtle shift of his footing that the stallion departed the area. He'd tested his claws against one of the more powerful breeds of Soquili and made his mark upon her hide.
With a yawn the stallion transformed into his panther form and stalked off into the foliage. A rustling to his left indicated that dinner was served. He'd see that mare again one day.
