Giving her lip another lick Harmony nodded. "Harmonsk is calling to one of the riders on our side." She supposed it was fair enough for the rider to want more information, and if it meant getting another person on their side she was willing to give it. "He's coming down now," she added, gesturing at a diving blue as Harmonsk passed the message onto her.
****************
[NPC - Vern and blue Karriath]
the lithe blue greeted Firith formally as he decelerated to land.
As his bondmate landed Vern quickly unfastened his straps and jumped to the ground. "Greetings friends!" he called, saluting the two young women smartly. "My name is Vern. As we are rather pressed for time can we cut to the case, rider? What is it you wish to know." He did hope the young rider would turn out to be a friend; if she didn't, she was now badly outnumbered.

Greeted as young by the full-grown blue, Firith flared out her wings in an attempt to make herself look larger than she truly was. Head high, she regarded him haughtily, her eyes colored orange with suspicion. I am Firith, and Mine is Ralla. We wish to fight and show the others that we are more than what they think.
"Ralla," the young woman returned shortly when he offered his name.
"I want to know what this is really all about. She says color doesn't matter to the Revolution, and that riders are equal to the handlers." She acknowledged her former opponent for a jerk of her head. "That sounds like it might be a little too good to be true, to be honest."

Vern shrugged eloquently. "Well I can understand your skepticism, and it does sound just a little too perfect, but I've been involved with this for some months now. The handlers - and other riders, I know a brown, and several blues and greens who've joined up - have never treated me with anything but respect. They call me friend, comrade, or rider rather than blue rider with that little hint of dismissal. Nobody gives me a hard time for not having elided my name, either." Giving his dragon a pat, the slim rider smiled wryly. "Don't mistake me, there are some folk I haven't exactly got along with within the cause, but you're never going to get on with everyone no matter where you are in the world. I do hope you'll join us Ralla, Firith; take the chance to be whatever you want, not what they say you're permitted to try for based on your bondemate's hide colour."
A dragon of few words, Karriath just rumbled deep in his chest and bowed his head respectfully to the weyrling pair.
*************
This, Harmony felt, was a good time to take a back seat; let the rider persuade the rider, he'd be better at it than her.

He hadn't elided his name? Ralla had never so much as heard of a male rider not doing that! Although, given how short his name already was, what would be the point of shortening it further? It made sense, when she thought about it, but that was neither here nor there. What mattered was what she and Firith were going to do.
I like what he says, the green told Ralla the spaded tip of her tail twitching. I do not want to answer to anyone who has not earned our loyalty. And she would certainly rather be the one others answered to.
The young rider didn't take long to consider before deciding, "We're in."

Vern beamed and stood to attention, throwing Ralla a snappy salute. "Welcome aboard then comrade! Now, let's get moving shall we? There's work to be done!"
