User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.: Name : Edmund Arckwright
: Age : about thirty-four
: Occupation : Textile Factory Overseer & Apartment Owner

: Appearance : Taller than one might think, Edmund has dark hair with specks of gray. His gray eyes look out from behind thinly rimmed glasses. His hair is meticulously placed and his clothes are finely pressed. He never goes without being dressed as immaculate as possible. His clothes are functional in nature, being mostly in browns and ivories instead of greens and reds. His pale skin is proof of him not being out much - spending most of his time at work, going over books for his apartments, or trying to develop a more efficient tool for this or that.

: Home : Owns and manages an apartment complex, so naturally he has the best flat
: Parents : He doesn't talk about them much, though he holds his mother in high regards
: Prized Posession : Pocket watch - you have to be on time

: Personality : Edmund is a fastidious character. Nothing is ever good enough for this or that. He is obsessed with time, as time is money. The man strives for everything to be done as efficient as possible, with the least amount of expenditure of effort. Many think he is difficult to deal with, but he is fair in his assumptions. If he think is will benefit their ability, he will help others - but again, the gain is still for his job or profits in the long run. He cannot stand the sight of dust or disorder, and does all in his power to prevent that from occurring. Edmund is convinced of the greatness of the evolving industrial era, and feels that the changes will herald in a new change - and he will stop at nothing to be at the forefront.

: History : Edmund Arkwright was born to a fairly low-class family. While his parents weren't poor and destitute - they also did not have much to live off. His mother would often go hungry to make sure Edmund and his brother had enough to eat. His dad was a cruel task master: low on praise but quick to criticize both with word and rod. He soon learned to be scarce when his father was home.

As a boy, he worked many odd-jobs around the city. He did much from chimney sweep to message delivery to handyman. This exposure to so much gave him both motivation to be of the upperclassman as well as a resourcefulness that many other children missed out on.

When he grew up, Edmund was one of the first workers in the textile factory. He was no where near the youngest, but he was definitely the sharpest. Edmund would regularly make up new ways to increase productivity - and soon caught the eye of the overseers and soon the owner. His little "inventions" of both tool and method would double, triple, and quadruple the output of the factory. He received praise and encouragement for the first time in his life. And not only that, others were trying to employ him.

His employer was determined to keep him, and because of that Edmund gets a pretty nice salary and more time to himself that was rather uncommon for a factory worker. Of course, he was also promoted and basically runs the smallest of the textile factories single-handedly.

But this was not good enough, and Edmund recently bought a rather sizable complex. There, he remodeled the large estate to be made into luxury apartments - he was not the only person to come in to some money, he just invested it more wisely. His tenants range from multiple walks of life - and he really doesn't care. They just have to be clean, respectful, and -of course- pay their rent on time.

: Servant : Edmund's servant is important to note. Thomas is a middle-aged man, just a bit younger than Edmund. Growing up, he also moved around odd-jobs. They ran into each other often and a growing respect was born. When Edmund left for the factories, Thomas remained on the street - living by his wit and skill. But when the gray-eyed boy became a successful man, he tracked down this talented counterpart and offered him a job: take care of him and his home for a good place to live and a salary. Thomas, always eager to have a better life than the street had to offer, accepted - but Edmund was sure there were still some shady deals going on his is manservant's free time (and he didn't care, as long as such things didn't interpose on his own investments).

TALIESEN

: Gender : Male
: Temperament : Taliesin does not show emotion unless it is on the higher of extremes. His humor can be seen in a more indirect route, and is always done with purpose.
: About : Taliesen is very independent. He and Edmund are not joined at the hip, and it may be common for the two to not see each other for days on end. When Edmund needs him, though, Taliesin is always there. He is a foundation that the man needs, and fills the whole in his life that family and children might have occupied. One thing is for certain: when Taliesin shows up, something always happens - whether it is small or large, good or bad. It is as if the buck himself is a catalyst in Edmund's life, and the other lives he touches.

OLWYN

: Gender : Female
: Temperament : Unlike Taliesin, Olwyn is very vocal, and loves pulling pranks on Edmund and those around him. She thinks dropping a feather in your plate of food is an occasion for celebration. The rook will pick off buttons and hide them in drawers just because she can. On the other hand, when Edmund gives her a mission, she holds it perfectly and does exactly as she should. It is when her mind wanders that she can become a pain.
: About : Olwyn showed up about the time that Taliesen became so independent. It was almost like she is his eyes and ears to watch over Edmund when the buck isn't around. She is extremely smart, and Edmund regularly has her fetch parchments, send a message to a worker, watch over so-and-so's child so they can get something for him, and so forth. To have Edmund around, it is almost guaranteed that you will get Olwyn as well. And whatever he might miss, she will always manage to let him know.
