I am sick of Internet Explorer lagging my computer so Im switching to Google Chrome. Only problem is, I cant get IE off my computer. It does not show up in the "Uninstall a Program" window. I tried to Uninstall it as an update, but that just got rid of IE9 (I probably have the 8 version now).
So I found that under "Turn Windows features on or off" I can turn off IE. But will that clear up my CPU storage and and all that?

with Windows, you can never uninstall IE permanently. on my old laptop, i don't remember how i did it, but i managed to do the next best thing: send it all the way to its base form and have no functionality whatsoever. everything went from using IE to using Firefox...but i believe you're gotten rid of it the best one can on Windows. it's still there, but best i can tell, it's taking up very minimal space.

Actually, if you can help it, you'll wanna keep a 2nd browser in case the other becomes frozen, or infected or something bad. o_o I can't exactly remember what happened, but it rendered my firefox powerless so I was forced to use my backup IE. D=
Leave it, but don't use it unless you need it. Should be ok that way~
