A still blood encrusted Mafa laid silently infront of the enormous main skull she called her den. The female's eyes were closed as she contemplated on the earlier events that she witnessed. The day before, she had encountered some crazed, flying lion that informed her that Ausha had indeed spawned, right under her nose. The nerve. She scoffed in anger, her eyes snapping open. The lion had told her about it all, advised her to kill them. Of course she would have done it any ways, even with out the provacative.

The female stood, shaking out her dust caked fur, and let her aqua eyes scan the drab land. She hadn't seen any of the other hyenas in day, not counting the brown male which she had just recruited the day before. Surely they were still around, for if they had left, she'd hunt them down and make them pay.

Tukutu was lazily sleeping on the skull of a lesser elephant that was near Mafa's home. He'd dozed off in her skull often enough, but for some reason, today this skull felt just so darn comfortable.

He never slept gracefully, and as usual, was sprawled on the skull, his legs stretched out, tail slowly swishing every once in a while. He never usually dreamed, just blacked out. His face was one of carelessness, not giving a damn that he could easily be made fun of his slow oozing of drool that crawled out of his mouth. Flies were hovering around his face, and as such his face twitched once in a while to get them off. Damn buggers.

Mafa's eyes lightly closed again for a few, meaningless seconds before they snapped open again. Either she was retarded, or her nose had been disfunctional for the past few hours, Mafa had rather settle with the latter. The female rose from her spot in the drab dirt and lifted her nose to the sky momentarily. Yup, that familiar stench was back, Tukutu was close by.

With a huff, Mafa started a slow trot, she wasn't exactly in a hurry. The female turned a few corners here and there before coming upon an occupied skull, the target of her search sleeping within it. With a slow walk, Mafa rounded the skull and came to the gaping hole in front where her aqua gaze fell upon none other than Tukutu, looking as idiotic as ever in his sleep. With a shake of her head, Mafa picked up a small bone between her teeth and tossed it into Tukutu's little den. With a roll of her eyes, she spoke, not a hint of a joking tone in her cold voice,

"What are you sleeping for you bum, don't you have things to do?"

"Ooow! Wha' tha' 'ell was tha' fer?"
Tukutu shook his head, the bone smacking into it after bouncing off the 'wall' of the skull. He glanced over and saw Mafa. Oh. Her. Wow, how thrilling.
He pulled himself up onto his feet, shaking the larger clumps of dirt and debris that were on his fur. Of course, the colour of his coat didn't improve much; he wasn't very flashy or impressing. He gave off a yawn and groaned.
"C'mon Mafa, it's too hard doin' anythin' 'in the day."
He scratched at his leg, blinking sleepily at Mafa.
He sure did make a fool of himself when he was waking up, too.

Mafa scowled at Tukutu, he was such a dolt, so uncharismatic, so hollow in the head. She sighed heavily, looking at the on hyena she had known her whole damn life with disdain,

"Don't tell me it's too hard Tukutu, some how I manage, and I'm doing just fine"

The female shook her head, cold eyes narrowing as she turned from the entrance of the skull and sat down a few feet away, licking her chops in content.

"While you were napping this whole damn time, a lot has happened. You'll never beileve it, but I saw some damn mutant lion, it was blue and it had wings. It told me that Ausha, the leader of those damn lions in the graveyard had reproduced. They have and heir, Dhami- something, like that."

Mafa scoffed as she rattled all this off to Tukutu. Though she rather disliked this male, she felt most talkative when he was around for reasons really unknown to her. He was the only one left from what her life had been before, her more carefree, happy days, everyone else had left her. Though those were days she was trying her best to forget,

"Now I don't know about you Tuk, but something needs to be done. The blue lion says we should kill them, which I think is marvelous"

And though Mafa wished to forget those memories, Tukutu had them run through his head every once in a while....he'd always thought Mafa was interesting, but she was so much harder to deal with now a days...damn "Gramps" had seen to that.
He scratched at his ear before replying to her. "Pah, so much easier ta do anythin' when those damn lions are asleep, then we c'n just do as we p'ease." He grumbled and listened on as she talked and talked and talked.... talking had never come too easily for Tuk. He couldn't speak too well, his vocabulary wasn't too big. His brow furrowed as he listenend to her, trying to catch everything.

"Mafa...I'll 'elp ya kill dem damn lion whelps, but....yer gunna listen to an ugly blu' lion?"

Mafa shook her head lightly, shaking the dust out of her scruffy mane. She found it less satisfying to kill something in its sleep. It was much more thrilling if it put up a struggle, to see fear in the eyes of something one has at their mercy. Mafa smiled eeriely to herself but the smile quickly faded as her thoughts moved onward.

"I'm not sure, I mean, they have to go either way, this lion was just a messenger, from hell knows where. I have no idea why he told me what he did...."

Mafa's eyes narrowed, whose side was that blue lion on anyways? Not that she wanted it on her side or anything. The female nodded her head at Tukutu, something about his cooperation was gratifying.

"Not sure what to do, I just want them all dead"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 26, 2006 3:35 pm

Tukutu grumbled a bit and eyed her. It was weird, so weird, to hear her unsure of herself....that ugly lion must've done something to Mafa...somethin'....

He cleared his throat before speaking up.
"All dead would be perfect." He gave off a low grumble, and sneered. "A 'course, that'll be a little difficult, 'specially if this new freend of yer's isn't quite on our side 'a things."

His tail swished, his hackles raising. Something wasn't sitting quite well in himself, but he couldn't explain it. Yes, he wanted to kill those stupid runts as much as Mafa. Perhaps he originally had not hated lions as much as her, but his hatred easily grew over the time of living here, and he hated how they came strolling in, talking up a large spot of land for their large asses, stealing all the decent food around....yes, they should die, deserved to die. Lions did not belong here.
But his bloodlust'd better be curbed, for only planning would help them with their numbers. Hyena were good at swarming, and they needed more in number...

"Where would 'e begin, though, Mafa? Ah'm all fer anythin', but I ain't gunna just pad right in 'n try ta get the whelps." He grimaced. "They're always so durn loud..."

Hearing Tukutu's words, Mafa lashed out with a snarl,

"Don't you are refer to that thing as a friend, it was a damn vile beast that had something to say. Don't you dare put me in a league with them"

With a growl, Mafa stood from her spot and paced around for a few seconds. As usual, she had gotten angry over seemingly nothing, but she couldn't help herself. Mafa's hatred for the lions was gut wrenching, they had ruined her young life; she'd ruin theirs. All for vengence. She wanted those damn lions out of her graveyard, she had no idea why they'd want to stay here, it was all beyond her.
With a huff, Mafa started to calm down a little, she tossed her head to the side, clearing the flopped down mane from her eyes and looked to Tukutu with a shrug. She hated this feeling, this feeling of not knowing what to do.

"We need more, more of us. Where the hell are all the hyenas?! I roped this brown guy in yesterday, he seems willing and complient, we need more like him, these mongrels need to be trained before we can go in there..."

"'Ere the 'ell are they? Probably a little frigh'ened of ye, Mafa." He mumbled.
Tukutu's eyes lay heavy on Mafa, though he quickly looked away and changed the subject.
"They're probably runnin' inta those stoopid lions first, and ye know how them lions are. Deceivin' bastards. 'Haps they're gettin' to them before I am. Perhaps we should branch out futher, gather what we can find."
His posture was still one drooped, but he didn't look towards Mafa again while speaking.

Mafa growled at Tukutu's response,

"They better damn well be scared of me, I run the show around here. I'd rather they cower under me than try to take me on, for if they do, they're dead meat"

With a dirty paw, Mafa made a slashing type motion through the dusty air in Tukutu's direction, simply to emphasize her point. Those damn hyenas better recognize who was the lead around here. She then nodded,

"They better be getting those lions, saves me the energy of having to go out there myself"

Not that she minded going out on patrol. She loved terrorizing those damn lions, it gave her great satisfaction to see them cower and bleed. Her cold eyes looked to the male,

"We do, we need to rope them in, make them obey, set up some kind of structure, everyone needs to know their place..."

Tukutu, used to Mafa's little flares of rage, wasn't started with her little show of force. He merely brought his head back to her direction. He dropped his sulky manner, and instead stood up in his sitting position.
"Well, why dun we jus' go out an' see what he c'n find? Break fer a while, find what we 'cn find, 'n drag 'em back? May'aps we c'n get a big 'nuff group then ta be more formidable against that damn lion pack."

Mafa sighed wearily and finally nodded, her eyes narrowing as she looked to Tukutu.

"Fine, we will break for now, find all the hyenas we can, meet back here. Then, we can discuss even more pressing issues"

With a huff, Mafa lifted her head rather elegantly and turned from Tukutu and started to walk off. She wasn't exactly sure where to start looking for the others. What she did know was that she was hungry, perhaps the dry southlands would be an ideal area for a meal. Yes, that was a good plan, but the southlands were in the opposite direction. With a sigh, she circled around, her path of walking seeming aimless, but making sense to herself. Her head was still meddled with thoughts, most of them brought on by that damn blue lion. The lion pride leader had already produced an heir, she would have to do the same to keep up. She scoffed at the idea, a mother, was the last thing she wanted to be, but the first thing she needed to be. It would be troublesome to decide what was right to do.
