the word "Christian" was first applied to believers of the Way in Antioch (and not favorably either).
so that was after the resurrection and Jesus could not therefore be a Christian.
it is a useful distinction, between an institutional structure with a name for its members, and its charismatic founder.
Bishop Desmond Tutu wrote a good book called "God Is Not A Christian".
