In this world, you grow old to be seventy, and then you age backwards till you are only one and then you die. I was 18 again. Nothing would be the same. I had eighteen years left to live. I had great-great-great grandchildren. It was a strange world. My youngest 3rd great grand~child was the same age as me. I was wandering about the marketplace when I saw him. My ex-husband. He was gorgeous again. I walked over to the apple stand when he had caught sight of me. My long black hair fell into my face as I looked over the apple in my hand.
"Valerie, is that you?" He asked. I looked up at William. He was a poised, rich old man. Well old as in 20 going on 19.
"Yes, Will, it is me. How have you been my- - Will?" My love, he had always been my love.
"I've been good Dear, may we go somewhere private?" He asked. My heart beat a little faster. We would soon be intelligent little toddlers. I couldn't get lured in for 18 years and then be gone, but I found myself following him. I linked an arm through his just like old times.
"Why have you asked me to somewhere private?" I asked, curiosity overwhelming me. I noticed us walked toward our old tree. It had a two person swing hanging from it innocently.
"Well Val, I have found myself missing you. It must seem foolish I know, but I still love you dearest." We sat on the swing and began going back and forth slowly.
"William, it is foolish of you. Sweetie," I cupped his face in my hands, "I still love you as well. I have 18 years left. Is it worth it?"
"It is! I love you my dear! Please, let us grow young together! It is as when we grew old as wel! We must live and grow together. We are meant to be!" WIll said, clutching me in a hug. I pulled away slightly and looked deep into those beautiful brown eyes. In answer to his pleas, I kissed him passionatly. It lite a fire that had long since died out. He pulled me close to him and we kissed for a little bit.
"I've missed your kisses Will."
"I've missed you Valerie."
