A Dwarven city Gormoth boasts both above and underground roads. The city has many tunnels that lead to and out of it. Many stretch deep into the ground creating an almost gigantic rabbit warren, many people have gotten lost beneath the earth in these tunnels. Most of the tunnels lead to a large underground town named Halereth. Unfortunately what was once a happy town and city is now a place filled with despair. People passing close enough will hear the cries of hungry children and women. They will hear whimpers of pain and hopelessness. That is if any traveler is brave enough to pass close enough to this city to hear these sounds. This city is besieged nightly by demons, making sure that anyone passing close by gives this place a wide berth. Other cities and farmsteads have gotten a number of refugees fleeing from the city and town. Most Dwarves stay and fight though; prideful creature, they are unwilling to see that this fight is a lost cause and they do not ask for help. Any traveler stupid enough to go to this city seeking a resting place will most probably be turned away seeing as these ragged Dwarves are wary of outsiders more and more now because of the attacks. They are in desperate need of help, even if they won't admit it. Dwarves die daily from starvation, the demons attacked their animals and food stores first. Others die from infections and blood loss. Their healers are overworked and exhausted, a few even died from pressing themselves too hard. Their warriors are depleting nightly. They can't keep the battle up much longer.
