A long, long time ago, longer than anyone could remember, there was a clan of elves called Death Elves, named so because of their ferocious fighting style and cannibalism that they practice. Death Elves were also master shapeshifters, able to take the form of anything, living or nonliving, regardless of size, shape, or mass transfer. When the humans began their enslavement of the Elven race, the Death Elves' power came in handy, and soon, they were the only remaining free elves, because the humans simply could not catch or overpower them. However, human magisters eventually created a solution, in the form of "control rings." These enchanted rings, once bonded to a Death Elf through their blood, allowed the wearer to control the Death Elf's shapeshifting powers, and even lock them in their current form. And so, with these rings, humans began their attack, and soon, the Death Elves were enslaved. However, as time passed, the rings effects wore off, and the Death Elves retaliated against their masters....but unfortunately, it was too late for many elves, who had been transformed as the magic wore off, trapping them in their current form....as time wore on, the bitter war between the Death Elves and the humans destroyed all of the rings, and both sides called it quits
Fast forward 200 years to the present. Aingel Li'Arani, a young Death Elf, has just learned a startling secret: Just before he died, the magister that invented the Control Rings made a single, perfect prototype: a Control Ring that never wore off. Even worse, Aingel found out that he himself is the last remaining blood relative of the Death Elven slave that the magister bonded the ring to as a test, meaning that the ring would work on him, too! And so began a quest to locate the ring and destroy it via a self-sacrificial blood ritual, before someone else got their hands on it first...
